Absolutely, although so much of the Federal process is political it did use to be more understanding of actual law. My cousin ran the office while appointees were being held-up under Ed Meese. Another GOP tool from back in the day.
Republicans have always been master connivers and certainly behind the scenes while they're out there preaching all their bs personal responsibility. NO, it's not that. It's what can you do for me and are you one of us? Dems don't fight so they don't ever really believe this is being done to them. Well, guys, better wake up for good now. With this bunch you can't ever ever think these people ever mean well for you, especially if you're a Democrat. That thing of turning the other cheek is something they love, it means they get to slap the crap out of both cheeks.
You totally have their number. When Kerry gave in," for the good of the country" per his Presidential election that was IT for me. They never do anything "good" for the country. At least, not any more. Like you, those gentlemen politics-that shit is over.
But I do enjoy when they just up and quit. That is at least an honest move!
I used to be a heavy smoker and when I quit I became one of those people you didn't want to be around if you were still smoking. I used to be a Republican. Of course I'm ashamed of that now but we all know one time whether they actually were or not, it seemed they were reasonable. The truth is they weren't. They've always been: We're the moneymakers, you're the money takers. We're going to be running this country to our benefit. You work for us.
I am glad you were able to quit ( both? Haha) smoking that is. It so harmful but you made me smile talking about "being one of those people". I think I know one of those people, me! At least for a bit!
And now I am old and I'm now officially way more "one of those people." I don't know whether we figure we don't have all that much time left or what it is, but maybe it's that we've heard a whole lot of bs over and over and over and we've seen how a lot of things work out when you do this and it leads to that. We just don't have as much patience with an awful lot of stuff that was once new to us. Trump is certainly new but Republican threats and misbehavior are not.
That people are still so enamored by the grifter king that is Trump still amazes me. But here we are...
Having just turned 69, I am certain to be in the old category, maybe the recently old! But I am still surprised by the fact that people are captivated by the conman Trump. Sheesh, come on already, hawking bibles and yet, AGAIN worthless stock grift!. If it was just stealing from his cult I wouldn't care so much but via a political move - no way!
PS, I didn't smoke very long but used a negative behavior modification therapy to quit. I guess I just didn't want to be semi-smoker quiting over and over. And it worked but smoking wasn't banned in public places yet and ashtrays made me physically ill. Well, at least it worked!
I probably wouldn't have quit except the attitude toward smoking and smokers changed suddenly. And you were considered a pariah all of a sudden. Then right about that time I got sick with strep throat and it was like breathing out of a furnace. So I took it one day at a time and I did not smoke again. That was 35 years ago. For a long time when under stresst I dreamed I was smoking and I was so disappointed in myself and I remember saying in my dream, I will never be able to quit again. It's really really hard. And then that passed. And now I can't tolerate it and fortunately nobody smokes in public and not even those who still smoke will do it to you in an enclosed space. Hardest thing I ever did along those lines. And I am exactly on the same page with you and the shock that he's still popular, that anybody would vote for him, that he isn't an instant turnoff to everyone. The man is disgusting and without even one redeeming quality. I really honestly wish he would die. And now he has succeeded in corrupting me. I have never said that about anyone else in my life.
That was my sense of it. Everybody wants these jobs

Also, agree on Republicans.
