Political convictions are strange. Seemingly educated and intelligent people often don't support what you would assume they should support. Many physicians, despite being in the capacity of caring for the infirm, are conservative politically. This may be due to economic reasons since they are demographically in the conservative realm. Messaging from our side needs to be vastly improved to illustrate that the oft-repeated lies from the right are debunked. We need to point out that access to health care, social safety net, public education, opportunity for all, fairness, are ideals basic to human dignity and the minimum we should embody in this, the wealthiest nation in the history of the world.

I know exactly what you’re saying. Some former colleagues I see now as a patient have all stated they support Trump. It’s a monetary reason from what I see.

I no longer see them as people I can respect because it reveals their true motives.

I know people like that too. They tend to be very shallow thinkers, often one-issue voters, and miss the larger implications. They are deceived by the conservative BS and end up voting against their own interests, unless they are in the top 1-2%, which I doubt. To my mind, the greatest political con in American history is how the GOP/conservatives convinced middle- and lower-middle class people to vote for them. Low information and personal grievances will do that, I guess

He is so vile and corrupt that I have no respect after what we know about him for anyone that supports him.
