I think that on Musk Watch they are talking about how many Kids Musk has so Jeff is not alone in broaching the subject.

https://open.substack.com/pub/elonmuskwatch/p/the-week-in-musk-musks-legion-of?r=f0qfn&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=email

So, while Musk continues to breed in the most sickening way, Trump is destroying the US. The truth of the matter is that Trump is way out of his depth running this country which an awful lot of people did not seem to understand when they voted for him. I saw a farmer interviewed yesterday who said that he thinks it will be a while before his neighbors can admit that they made a mistake.

Ruth Ben-Ghiat was talking about how Fascists get obsessed with the bodies of people that they mess with, they will not give them up. So, I think it would be good if someone would spirit Kilmar Abrego Garcia to Costa Rica or something to exercise his due process from there. Saying this has been very unpopular because people in the US are caught up with the due process, and how Trump has to bring him back. I am thinking of how to save his life, and negotiating getting him to another country if he promises to not return will make him better off than everyone else in the Nazi Death Camp in El Salvador. From freedom let him then apply for due process. Trump should be getting due process too as he is in contempt of court. I would love to see him imprisoned for that, but we know that Roberts will not dare do that.

I am also thinking of how Italian PM Georgia Meloni is visiting with Trump to negotiate trade deals, but he is not doing that now. She has paid her dues, as a nice fascista, but one who supports Ukraine, so Trump is not giving her what she wants yet. But, makes it sound like Italy will get trade deals not the rest of the EU. We shall see how that goes over. He super duper wants to divide and conquer with the EU. I also think that JDV visiting Meloni and her being nice to him before Trump goes to visit. I guess Italy will be getting a Trump resort soon. We know Musk is buying a villa there, so Italy will be the European residence of all the US fascists. How appropriate.

Then, I read that Rubio told EU leaders that if Russia and Ukraine cannot make peace in a few days the US is done trying to help them because they cannot spend any more time on this. I am sure Putin is happy about it, but perhaps Zelensky is too. At least he is not forced to take Trump's deal. However, the EU needs to step up with the military support and civil support to Ukraine because the US is outie. Rubio says the US has more important things to destroy, I mean attend to at home. That is ominous. Trump did not stop the war in Ukraine, or Gaza, yet he is feeling so mighty and powerful. Now he and Musk are going to turn their attention to destroying social security. My daughter, who has a hobby business while in uni, just paid her first payment into social security and medicare even though she may never see a penny of that. She made a pittance, and paid a lot. I was sickened because now DOGE has her bank tracking number, so I am going to suggest she not use that account anymore until it is tax time next year. They can rob 3 generations of our family.

Thursday, April 24, Indivisible is partnering with Social Security Works to do events at every Social Security Office that they can. Here is a link to a map that shows where there will be actions, or where you can register your own to stand in solidarity with the people who work for Social Security. https://actionnetwork.org/event_campaigns/hands-off-social-security

Linda, I've been seeing your comments about getting Abrego Garcia to another [sanctuary] country, and it's an interesting proposition. But you say here that an agreement could be reached in which he'd promise never to return to the U.S. Question: how, then, could he apply for due process? If he's agreed not to come back to this country, what does fighting for due process get him?

Actually, that is not true.

I will ascribe your recent remarks to ignorance rather than stupidity or malice, but I suggest you check your facts before posting.

The judiciary has the Constitutional right and the ability under law to hire private lawyers to prosecute and private security to enforce its declarations. It is required to first ask DOJ to do it, but if they refuse or stall, the judge can move forward.

In this case, both Judge Xinis and Judge Boasberg have already declared intent to do this.

China does not want to dump large amounts at once as they would get less value for the rest, but every time the stock market goes down and hedge funds start buying bonds instead, this is an opportunity for them to sell off a batch and drive bond market down too, as they have done a few times in recent weeks. This drives up the interest rate on T-bills and makes it impossible for the Fed to cut rates no matter how much Trump shouts at them to do so.

The picture of those troop driving from Fort Campbell in the dark of night sticks in my mind. Regular Army troops activated to restore order is a rare occurrence. We should not forget why: the cause of anti-racism. Our counter parties around the World know this quite well. How do you make a deal in Good Faith with a known Liar, Deceiver, Fraud, Untrustworthy Backstabber?

Donald violates his oath of office many times daily. Every leader in the World sees this. It's not a secret. So, they ask, how do I deal with someone who doesn't even fulfill his promises to his own citizens?

They see from many other examples, that a deal with Donald first requires giving him and his family bribe money. But they also see how he's changed his mind and violated agreements, even after extracting millions for himself. He's a fraud! A conman without scruples or limits. No deal!

I have had many margaritas in my time, and none of them looked like a glass of water, no ice, and a cherry on top. Funny how the pictures differ. And funny too that El Salvador says they've got this terrible, horrible man and also, we'll have him all dressed out, complete with ballcap, and serve up margaritas like it's a bachelorette party.

NBC reported that Bukele ordered an aid to put salted-rim glasses with cherries on the table. How very Nazi.

Expand full comment
Paula Brantner's avatar

Look at the difference between the first picture and the second. The first has a water bottle and they are clearly both drinking water. The second has salt added to the rim and a maraschino cherry on the *rim* as well. You don't put cherries in margaritas, and if you do, you would drop it in the glass, not mangle it putting it on the rim of the glass. So obvious and pathetic.

Expand full comment
Deborah Hunter's avatar

It is pathetic. Maybe it's an El Salvador specialty drink. Margheritas with cherries. Bukele will get his. Just a matter of time. He's on the international radar now. I'd never heard of him before this, but I also don't follow Latin America politics.

Expand full comment
Paula Brantner's avatar

Yes, but the point is that it was not a margarita. It's photoshopped. It was water, from the bottle in front of Abrego Garcia in the first picture.

Expand full comment
Paula Brantner's avatar

Chris Van Hollen has now said that the margaritas were added to the table as a prop when they took a picture, that they were not sipping margaritas on the hotel patio. He was obviously dressed up for the occasion, compared to what he has to wear in prison.
