Watching some documentaries on cults where an expert chastened folk not to so quickly say, I would never fall for ___. This was regarding Keith Rainier group and that UFO/ suicide group. I looked at this and thought yeah, trumpism. Also the religious right already have one foot in on willingness to "believe". So applied authoritarianism from the GOP side is just an easy step, if you already have that faith-based lifestyle. And still lots of converts without any religious conviction. Think young white guys,etc.

I saw that happening with my friends too - the religious part. Cult is the only way to explain it.
