Also, nice to see him doing the cock-in-each-hand dance on the tarmac. 😂

And that bargain basement bozo "patriot" is in violation of the US Flag Code that states rather plainly that the US flag will not be worn as an item of clothing.

And if I'd seen the Fox "News" tweet, I'd have replied that I didn't think the WH was promoting pedophelia and grooming because I don't see a cross on any of those flags.

None of them do but if any of them had actually ever read the word of JC, the one they supposedly follow, they’d know he would have nothing to do with politics. They’d know he really did mean turn the other cheek, they’d know they’re full of shit.

I've come to the conclusion that Republicans eschewed reality long ago. They only want to keep their base riled up with whatever bogey man stories they can dream up and keep the money rolling in from the sugar daddies.

Who supply an endless amount of weapons of any kind. The only thing I like our CA governor for is his plan to put forth a bill on a national level to put real federal restrictions on weapons, drastic ones. I hope he’s not just preening. It’s past time for this to be done.

Just watched the late and beloved Glenda Jackson's parliamentary send off to the loathsome Margaret Thatcher on her passing. It's on the interwebs, and let me share with everyone: watch it, it's inspiring. And certainly speaks to each of us in this moment.

I’m afraid I’ve lost my ability to laugh at these idjits. After the high I got from the indictment (and admittedly, cannabis), the reminder that these horrendiomas are still sharing my oxygen is dispiriting. They’re beyond reasoning, they’re clearly unable to think critically and facts don’t mean anything. Bill Maher said we can hate Trump but we mustn’t hate his supporters. That’s a lofty - dare I say, CHRISTIAN sentiment - but it’s one I can’t share. I can’t summon sympathy for the members of Trump’s cult. Because this isn’t a question of politics, it’s a question of morality, something they’re supposed to learn about in Church but don’t. *You’re okay with showing classified documents to every Tom, Dick and fuckhead who comes to Mar-a-Lago?* Alrighty. *You want to shake hands with a sexual predator who staged a coup*? *You think it’s cool that he’s a sexual predator?* Ohhhkay. But they hate everyone who isn’t them: Blacks, Jews, women, and most of all, liberals - and they try to impose their so-called “Christian values” on the rest of us. And they scare the shit out of me because they reproduce and they vote.

One thing that gives me unadulterated joy is this: By 2046, this will be a minority majority country. The Republicans will try to gerrymander around it, or legislate against it, or hate the reality of it but it doesn’t matter. In just a couple of generations, the people that scare them will be in the majority. There will be more Black and Hispanic Americans than the lily-whites who’ll try to hold onto control and will FAIL. And that makes me really happy.

They aren’t “Christian’s” they don’t have a clue because it’s a prop to them. They shouldn’t represent over two billion people.

Horrendioma:

Refers to a horrible case, usually due to a disfiguring or crippling disease or accident. It can also refer to a usually benign treatment which ends up disfiguring or crippling the patient.

I actually knew that one but I wasn’t sure anyone else did.

Many years ago, I read a book (out of print now) called House of God, about Samuel Shem’s internship at Bellevue Hospital. That’s where I learned my favorite acronym GOMER - Get Outta My Emergency Room, referring to an old, demented person, strapped to a wheelchair and repeatedly uttering indecipherable phrases like, “roodle roodle” and “fix the lump, fix the lump.”

I thought these were terms the author made up until a doctor I knew described his patients as G.O.M.E.R.S. Through the years I worked for doctors, I’ve heard it used many times.

Thanks for adding to my vocabulary!

That’s why they can’t and if they don’t understand that by now they shouldn’t be serving any district, they shouldn’t be on capital hill. If people want Religion taught to their kids? Parents get off your asses and take your kids to church or temple or whatever you follow. It’s not the job of the school system to do it. They can’t.

Remind me not to eat cherries while reading your Substack. I laughed so hard at Tuesday that I choked on a cherry pit. Wednesday is priceless. Do you happen to have an email for Fox News so that we can share it with them? How about the NYT? This hypocrisy is front page stuff. I had just read about how the Fascist White racist militia Patriot Front (what an oxymoron) is getting more and more dangerous. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/jun/16/patriot-front-far-right-violence?utm_term=648c39a9089c4afbdb19f860d861ca48&utm_campaign=USMorningBriefing&utm_source=esp&utm_medium=Email&CMP=usbriefing_email
