I hope there are doctors who have the courage to do the right thing even if they risk prosecution.

Those doctors have families to protect. They may want to help with all their heart but can’t. And I wouldn’t want them to risk that. Unless they figured out a way to not get caught. This woman is all over the news. It’s too late for sleight of hand. I wonder what she will decide to do. Can’t she move to another state?

I think that’s why it’s so difficult for women to access any reproductive health care in these “red” states. It’s impossible to practice medicine under conditions where the state says you can’t save your patient’s life or make medically appropriate decisions with them. And she’s a mother of 2. Any ethical doc would weigh her life and her living children’s well-being with that of a non-viable fetus.
