I think that the top nazis weren't exactly stupid. Their prejudices were real but the ones at the top were smart enough to never put themselves in harms way.

The GOP politicians genuinely believe shit like--and this is my fave is still Todd Akin saying that a woman can't get pregnant by rape because, "...women rarely get pregnant from legitimate rape because the female body has ways of shutting that whole thing down."

But since he said it out loud--not in print--I've always interpreted it as "shutting that HOLE thing down."

He was shamed into apologizing for it, and later rescinded his apology. But Democrats are the flip-floppers.

That is one of the greatest misogynistic

quotes of all time. “No rape- cause the body shuts it down” Obviously Todd”I’m Achin’ for a Brain” never passed anatomy

or sex education in his ute.

Turns out it is a common propaganda lie in the forced-birther circles.

"In some cases, it has been claimed by anti-abortion activists that pregnancy from rape is either rare or impossible. This is an incorrect assertion; studies repeatedly show that any female capable of ovulation may become pregnant after rape by a fertile male, and the prevalence of pregnancy from rape is the same or greater than pregnancy from consensual sex."

Todd Akin's outrageous words elected Sen. Claire McCaskill. The fucking brain dead pols are making laws affecting females, and they have no idea how pregnancy might occur.

There should be a bunch of Schoolhouse Rock episodes to teach stupid politicians the basics of, well, everything.

I doubt even then they’d be able to learn. Their brains are impenetrable.

Legitimate rape ? Yet another who can not differentiate between sexual congress and sexualised violence because he has seemingly only ever experienced indulging in the latter. His parents and all his close relatives should be ashamed.

What the hell is 'legitimate rape?". Having survived 7!! Between 18 and 48 -- left for dead in a canal with alligators/crocodiles?? During one and fed arsenic in another!! Held hostage in another with repeated rape! Where is this legitimacy he's talking about??

It is a contradiction in terms only existing in his febrile fantasies, to be ignored.

You are a true fire proven survivor, to be believed.

You are not alone. There was a survey I came across that unfortunately I did not note down, comparing PTSD suffered by soldiers exposed to extreme violence in warfare and rape survivors. The latter were found to suffer levels of PTSD four times higher than battle hardened elite combat troops. So when I called you a survivor I meant it. Surviving does not mean you can ever forget or forgive, just that we daily ‘carry it on our backs’. I can almost always recognise ‘one of us’ if I meet them in the flesh and vice versa. I don’t really know why 🐈‍⬛

I don't know either but I've found if I bring it up there are women close to 80!!! who look at me and then confide what happened to them. How sad is it that women still carry shame about shit that was never their fault to begin with. And into what might be the last stages of their lives. I figure maybe that's part of my purpose in still being here. And yes we can recognize each other. Thanks for listening 🤗❤️

Sending blessings your way. You are brave to advocate for rape survivors when rape is too often not taken seriously. 💖🙏

No they don't. When I was younger, 1 in 3 women reported sexual assault by age 18. Now statistics say 1 in 4. I think both numbers are low.

Rape happens all the time.

I am sorry you are part of this club.

I agree Hannah, I think the statistics are probably closer to 1 in 2

The very statement that 'rape happens all of the time' is so heartbreaking to even think that it's a matter of fact thing and just so common place in our society.
