Hopefully someday politics can return to civil discourse about relevant issues important to ALL Americans, instead of just hurling hate at each other, and a return to bipartisanship. That can't happen until the MAGA shitstains are removed from office at the ballot box.

Absolutely. Whatever happened to policy discussion?

Steve Schmidt had a good line: "The end of the rancid MAGA era is in sight".

Rancid. The perfect descriptor.

In sight, yes. But the horizon often recedes as we come closer. I think we may be in for a long haul. We didn't put them down fast enough so they've proliferated. And they're not just in our country.

The Repubs haven't been the "Party of Lincoln" for so long, but in the last decade they have moved off to where the busses don't run, where the railroad tracks turn into weeds and old mattresses.

It's nothing but a front for a fascist oligarchy, leeching off small-dollar suckers with lies and empty promises.

I don't have confidence they can ever return to their original roots. Or want to.

As Stuart Stevens wrote, "It Was All A Lie."

There should be a 'loyal opposition' but IMO the Republican Party is dead.

IMO the 'Party of Lincoln' ended when that Confederate traitor shot him.
