Just got back from family funeral for my Aunty in Hawai’i. She raised me.. couldn’t make it back to my Uncle’s 4 years ago because of COVID.. Governor of Hawai’i showed up and gave a lovely speech. 300 people and relatives everywhere. It was so awesome being warm finally and then I came back home flying into a lovely snow storm. I was warm for a week 😎 but I think my dog is still a wee bit salty he got left behind.
Yeah, she was 100%Hawaiian which is rare these days. She was the curator at the Hulihei Palace for 40 years. She also made sure the local schools still taught the Hawaiian language to the children so the language didn’t die out. I also found out her daughter, my cousin, gave birth to me for my parents. Which made me really happy cause she’s amazing and we have the same dimples. I’m just thankful. So my dad is my dad but my mom isn’t my real mom.. and that makes more sense .. how I was treated growing up
