That’s exactly what I did. One too many NYT-Sienna polls and the usual. I didn’t quite understand until today why NYT was routinely dragging the Biden administration and the President himself. I thought they just wanted to keep the race close out because of their profit motive. Keep those campaign add $$ coming in. But to see our nation jeopardized by Sulzberger’s sheer pettiness? Perhaps NYT aspires to compete with NewsCorp as the TASS of a future Trump administration.

I cancelled NYT a few months into Biden's inauguration. Totally disgusted that Peter Baker was whining on TV like a spoiled child about POTUS not accepting interview requests. Jeff, then my million dollar question is why the fuck doesn’t Biden take an interview with the New York Times in the first place? Why the fuck answer me this? If he had done it from the beginning this wouldn’t be a, excuse me using your favorite lexicon, a FUCKEN deal. This is why Biden is so up his own ass. He will risk losing this because of his own stupid fucken stupid out of touch personality. Let me include and cross pollinate a piece I wrote yesterday from my own blog.

You Know Something Is Happening Here But You Don’t Know What it Is, Do You, Mr. Jones

The title is taken from an old Bob Dylan song. And it reflects the protests taking place mostly on college campuses that have spread across the nation in reaction to the massive slaughter of Arabs in Gaza by the Israeli army.

The world has reacted in a very predictable fashion. First Hamas invades Israel and slaughters 1,200 people while taking a large quantity of prisoners. The bombardment ensues killing tens of thousands. The brutal brilliance of Hamas leadership correctly predicted what is now taking place on the world stage, making Israel an international pariah. They were and are willing to sacrifice their own as collateral damage to further the cause of a Palestinian statehood. One might extrapolate that this extreme is a reaction to countless decades of what has amounted to ethnic cleansing by migrants from other lands who were themselves ethnically cleansed. It’s a vicious cycle of historic human behavior that can be found anywhere humans have migrated including the Americas.

Events have fostered a new anti-war movement unseen since the Vietnam War period. From the Berkeley Free Speech Movement which spread east across the nation now has its modern corollary at Columbia University which has spread west and south.

This social movement will not end until major issues are resolved in the Middle East and there is no prospect for this happening under the current regime in Israel. And because 2024 is an election year, there will no doubt be massive protests on the streets of Chicago during the democratic convention. Have we been here before? Yes we have. In 1968, the culmination of the growing anti-war movement took its greatest manifestation on the streets which turned into riots and abusive police response. It tore apart any meaningful messaging democratic leadership attempted under LBJ, whose leadership the war was blamed. Ironically, Lyndon Johnson was the most progressive president in the latter half of the 20th century but by 1968, he was cornered by his own post WWII anti communist mentality. The times had changed and he suffered the consequences with a withdrawal of candidacy and a defeat at the polls which ushered in a corrupt administration under Nixon.

There is no comparing Nixon to Donald Trump. As unlikable and ultimately paranoid as Nixon became, Trump is a deal breaker of immense proportion. He will destroy whatever remains good in this nation. Everything negative has already been said of this monster. Indeed, my book reveals it all in, “Donald’s Vanity Tantrums,” in which my latest story addition explains his behavior when in the 1970s and early 1980s, his mentor, Roy Cohen, coached Trump to never admit guilt; to never admit defeat and to always counter attack all charges. This epitomizes Trump today.

Is this Deja vu all over again? I think there is a growing chance that massive protests will break out on the streets of Chicago. Joe Biden is being rightfully cast as the ‘Mr. Jones’ of this commentary for not reading the tea leaves and for giving Israel any armaments it requests to continue the slaughter of innocent people who only have wanted a place to live unhindered.

I was 15 years old in 1968 and even as a young person, I ruminated why the anti-war movement was destroying the very political party that contributed so much to civil rights legislation and related causes. Is Joe Biden our modern Lyndon Baines Johnson? Perhaps you should ask yourself this question.

Do you really think an interview with Biden will help him? The Times will ask questions about his age, Hunter, alleged payments from China and Ukraine, Afghanistan, Gaza? Do you think the Times will make it flattering? Will they enumerate his many accomplishments? No. So why should he give them the opportunity to denigrate him? They just want to show Biden as an inept person who has done nothing for the country. No way should he do an interview.

Taking a beat, I recommend everyone listen to Michelle Wolf's 2018 White House Correspondence Dinner performance. 19 minutes of bravery and brilliance.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDbx1uArVOM

Net: EVERYONE knew in 2018 exactly what Trump, the Republicans (ruthless) the Democrats (not ruthless enough) and the media had going on.

As for the NYT, appreciate that, as Michelle Wolf pointed out: "The media love Trump. He's made you a lot of money."

Could it be that NYT knows that a second term of Biden is an end of Trump news? That we will have coverage of his criminal trials, but the minutiae of back and forth bartering dates, times, places and conditions of these trials will be so drawn out as to cease to draw the crowds an angry and potent Trump does? Hmmm?

Not the people of any of their countries and it certainly has distracted everyone from Ukraine. Or, so Putin thought. Here is a YouTube recording of Katie Couric and Anne Applebaum's discussion organized by Big Tent. https://youtu.be/TjAXwkKJ3Fk?si=QIIQO-CojmYbveu5

I was 13 in 1968. Democrats lost the election for a number of reasons, not the least of which was the tendency of American voters to favor "tough talk" over thoughtful discourse.

Student protesters in the 1960s wanted the war to end because they didn't want to kill or be killed. They were not calling for the extermination of Vietnam.

If Trump even has a place on the ballot in November, it won't be because President Biden didn't play nice with the Times, but because too many of us are too stupid to get out of our own way.

Omg, 26 years running a dog rescue, I can't speak about that brain dead bitch.

The NYT is ghastly, I have ditched my online subscription and hope others do as well.

Kudos to Howard Stern for his Joe Biden interview. I was moved beyond words.

This short video pseudo PSA from the Lincoln Project is tidy. I wish they had been more explicit that Noem was the inspiration.

I still need to check out his interview with Biden and will look for his interview with Hillary Clinton. I do love his response to people criticizing him for being woke:

“By the way, I kind of take that as a compliment, that I’m woke. I’ll tell you how I feel about it. To me the opposite of woke is being asleep. And if woke means I can’t get behind Trump, which is what I think it means, or that I support people who want to be transgender or I’m for the vaccine, dude call me woke as you fucking want. I’m not for stupidity, you know. I ran out Friday morning. I was over at CVS. Thank you, CVS. I went over there 9 a.m. and got myself that new vaccine for COVID. Fucking science. This fucking country is so great… I am woke, motherfucker, and I love it. I want to be awake. I want to read legitimate news sources. Here’s how woke I am. I believe the election was not rigged. I am woke. I think that’s a compliment.”

With all the other crap going on, especially the treatment of women by the christofascist MAGAt Party formally known as the GOP, this puppy murdering bitch bragging about shooting her puppy in the face because she “hates that dog” is the last straw. Or at least it should be.

Gosh, my kids were untrainable. Never occurred to me to take them out to the dump and shoot them for ruining my day. They refused to march around cleaning up their messes, refused to do homework they thought was stupid (I was a teacher, I know stupid, the kids were right), refused to salute me when I came in the door, and would not hunt for slugs in the garden (even at 5 cents bounty apiece.). Here’s to my life: dogs, kids, spouses, grandkids, cousins, kids’ friends still swoop in, are untrained, and make messes and a racket and are hilarious.

I even rescued a German short haired hunting dog. Fletcher was gun shy and headed for the pound; a friend called, I took the dog. I found him a wonderful home with a bowhunter and mountain bike rider father-and-son team. Noem is a sissy. A sissy with a gun. And a fucking asshole.

Except for those in the highest income/wealth brackets, I don't think Jeff Bezos has our best interests at heart. I agree about TV news. I've found channels on YouTube that are much more informative and credible, like Meidas Touch, Brian Tyler Cohen and his frequent guests Glenn Kirschner and Marc Elias, Pod Save America, Robert Reich, The Bulwark, Mary Trump, Heather Cox Richardson, and more that you'll find if you look into these.
