The Dems. Sheesh. I’ve lost faith in the Dems. Too fucking polite except for Rep. Jasmine Crockett—the wonderful hot shot from Texas! She’s the bomb!

Nancy Pelosi is not in the way. She taught them how to lead and has stepped down. No dissin Pelosi, she was the strongest Speaker of the House that Congress has ever seen. Pres. Obama would have gotten nothing done without her.

THANK YOU. And if it weren’t for Pelosi’s seasoned expertise in getting nearly-impossible things done, the Jan. 6 insurrection would have succeeded, Biden would not have been certified as President, and we would already be living in Trump’s dystopia rather than just dreading it now.

It’s kind of sickening to see how quickly our pioneers and warriors get thrown under the bus by those addicted to our youth-worshipping, instant-gratification culture.

MzNicky, Nancy kept the Titanic from sinking during 1.0 FOR SURE! I am 68 yrs old, no ageism in my stmt. I have purchased multiple books about Speaker Emeritus Pelosi for my thin "keep forever" shelf. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the pic of a big conference table full of men, turd with lips pursed, arms crossed tight around his chest. Nancy is standing up, across the table from turd with a stern look and IIRC is pointing a finger at him. I think this is when she asked him "why is it with you, all roads lead to Russia?"

I know the photo you’re talking about and I love it too. That big-ass conference table and all the president’s men seated around it, staring shamefacedly into their folded hands, and Pelosi is the only one in the room who has the “balls” to stand up to the Orange Monster and point a finger at his fugly face. Pelosi is a fucking rock star, and I will not hear any whippersnapper armchair quarterbacks trashing her. And while I’m at it, the same goes for the godalmighty Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Except Ginsberg should have stepped down early in Obama’s second term so he could have appointed a proper Justice to replace her. Instead look what we got.

Hindsight and 20/20 vision? You are perhaps right, but to then hear folks screeching about how she’d “ruined her legacy” and blah blah blah makes me see red. RBG was a fucking trailblazer and hero long before the word “feminism” even became part of politics, The End.

I hold Nancy Pelosi is the highest esteem. But she just had hip replacement surgery in Germany after an injury. I've been emailing and calling her CA offices asking her to retire. Post-surgery rehab is difficult, and now she's in her '80s. Dems must hold the strongest line, all hands on deck. She had served us brilliantly. Unless she's in the House on a hospital bed for the resistance, time for Nancy to step down.

Nancy is another Feinstein....gonna be a burden to the effort vs. fascism. Dems spend alot of time coddling the octagenarian codgers much to the detriment to America. IMHO.

Teri, if she can show up and vote, I say let her have the rest of her term. If not, can Gavin appoint Barbara Lee to replace her for the rest of her term? Is it snowing in Paradise? The sun came out this morning.

Ellen, that sounds right. I've seen elderly folks close up go thru at-home rehab for hips -- it's difficult and takes 2 months plus. With the House divide so close now, we can't be missing anyone! Barbara Lee would be excellent! No snow, major fog. I'm at 2,000 feet. Saw two snowplows yesterday probably moving to our higher elevations.

I would rather have Katie Porter replace her. She is another force to be reckoned with.

She just lost a close primary against Adam Schiff this election so no longer has a seat in the House.

She would scare the living Shit out of bad actors with her whiteboard , grilling them intelligently and strongly about their transgressions.

So she had her time-but she made it so AOC couldn't be a committee head-and she's great at messaging and speaking, creating momentum for the working class-unlike the guy who was appointed that nobody knows, 74 yrs old with cancer (no offense meant towards him, and i hope he gets through his health troubles but he shouldn't have accepted!!!). The old guard needs to mentor younger candidates and step aside (imo by 68, then consult and advise if they want to stay in, or just fucking enjoy some retirement). And by doing this gatekeeping, Pelosi makes it so there is absolutely no female committee leaders-just older white men!!!! Wtf!!! This infuriates me-step aside already, you've had your time!!!!

I don't know what goes through the so-called minds of the younger right wing members of Congress, but the old ones are the same ones who lose their shit when Confederate generals' statues are removed, and military bases and schools are renamed. They don't bother to hide their sexism and racism, even in public. Behind closed doors? There have been plenty of examples of secretly recorded conversations at fund-raisers and other events.

My, my. I don't believe that's how the fault lines work. What will the South do for money when California/the West Coast leaves? And how will you get all those Chinese imports when the West Coast ports no longer forward any thing to the rest of the country? Not to mention the tariffs T hopes to put on anything from China. And what about the food we grow? We are the fourth largest economy in the world. If we leave, the USA will no longer be the largest economy in the world, China will be. Oh, and by the way, my great grandfather fought in the Civil War for the North and his grandfather fought in the Revolution (for the colonies). We landed in Plymouth in 1633.
