"We’ve begun living within the confines of a mafia state...," no, we've returned to living in a Mafia state. US History is full of self-dealing presidents, corrupt officials, and a press that can be bought with a song. Don't kid yourself, the New Deal period that ended in 2000 was a bright spot in the otherwise blighted history of the United States. We are just sad that we lived through much of it and now it is returned to its bad old self.
