What do the schmoes in Ohio keep re-electing this guy? He's an embarrassment, like most GQP representatives. Yet people keep sending Jordan and people like him back to DC to "represent" them. It is baffling.

because his district is so heavily gerrymandered. the map for OH4 looks like an amoeba that was put in a blender and then splattered against a wall

🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

We don't. He's gerrymandered in. We are trying to change districts in Ohio so they aren't slated all Republican. The Supreme Court has voted twice the districts unconstitutional. He's a huge embarrassment.

I write this a lot, my sister is retiring from teaching public school in OH this year. Jordan is despised deeply outside of his district and generally despised in his gerrymandered Rorschach Test shaped district. If everyone despised him so, how DOES he keep getting re-elected? By cheating, that’s how. OH just passed new voter suppression laws for this year’s primary.

Have you BEEN to Ohio? My mothers uncle Dell lived there so I was dragged along on visits. It may have changed since the 1940s when I was a child but somehow I doubt it.

I used to live in OH...like many other states, the big cities tend to be more liberal than the rural areas. Take a look at his district map. It's a big zigzag to avoid any liberal 'hot spots'. It's ridiculous.

Probably some of the narrowest parts have two Republicans and no Dems able to vote.

Nope, still the same.

I have no doubt he does represent them. He represents their grievance ridden, ignorant, provincial, backward thinking culture that always demonizes those who are more educated and who prefer not to live in the 19th century.

It's like MTG being re-elected in her district. She is not an aberration - she represents her constituents. The dumbing down of Americans began 30+ years ago, the "isms" we thought had decreased had just grown stronger in the dark. Sarah Palin was the portal with which stupidity and intolerance (clothed in christo-fascism ) became mainstream and KellyAnne Conway introduced "Alternate Facts" into our lingo. Truth became whatever you wanted it to be. Verifiable facts no longer matter (I "feel" the election was stolen,) "The truth isn't truth" (Rudy Giuliani) and guns, guns, guns. I think of JFK's "Profiles In Courage" and think of the sheer cowardice of EVERYONE in the current GQP (with the exception of Liz Cheney, whose politics are despicable.) I have never felt worse about The United States of America and fear for "The American Experiment."

30+, and more. Before the '80's and definitely increasing logarithmically and alarmingly so, through that decade. Not-so-coincidentally, the Reagan years were a huge turning point for unions and teachers alike.

At that time, with no other media to measure the society as we have now, it was difficult to appreciate a broad scope of information through three broadcast channels and newspapers.

Frankly I don't think a lot of us were paying attention once Vietnam got over with, and Nixon got out of the WH; I wasn't.

If I were to throw a dart and guess, extrapolating backward, probably 1975 or so would be a fair starting point.

Sadly I must agree with your assessment of the state of this country.

C-SPAN isn't covering his antics this time. I saw a line in an article yesterday from a serious source referring to him as powerful. In my large crowd, nobody has ever considered him powerful. He has some things he can order up these days but that does not indicate his power, just power of his committee appointment. When that's over, he fully returns to Peter Principle Gym.

Unfortunately C-Span is covering his circus. GOP pressured them to. Don't know why C-Span caved to their demands

Looks like it was good C-SPAN covered another one of his idiotic weaponizations. Trashed.

Did you see any of it? Did he make a fool of himself?

I did not.. But a;pparently he did. WSJ kind of blew him off. That tells you a bit. Ridiculous mad Beta Rooster. I saw a picture of his flustered angry face. Good. He and Comey need to take their bigorties and racisms and misogynies back to their own states where they will be lauded and applauded.

Damn, then they did cave. Actually, maybe this is okay. Jordan is one of those watch paint drying kinds of guys and he's already been getting a rasher from other House Republicans.

What is Jim Jordan? A traitorous, treasonous, low, IQ, emotionally retarded dropout Loser. What is Jim Jordan? One person toxic landfill. A wanna be big shot in a little sewage pond. Trump lapdog, which is very unkind to lap dogs. That’s who Jim Jordan is this. Vile waste of oxygen.

Mr. Tiedrich,

Your comments bring a smile. I like that you don't shy away from words, "shit, fuck"and those sort of things, you write it as if I'm also saying those in my head as I agree with your observations.

Thank you, Isaac

Hi! Love your content. I have been thinking about this since I read that the district Ted Cruz represents is so gerrymandered that the GOP uses him to say whatever the F they want him to because he will not be voted out. Same with Matt Gaetz, so probably same with Jordan? Thinking he also might be compromised (or guilty of something in his past career perhaps?) so being in office is a sort of immunity shield? Oh yeah and the chance to yell all the time....

In 1895 there were only 2 motor vehicles in the entire state of Ohio.

They collided.

I am not making this up.

You ask really good questions about why Gymbo is in Congress. I guess he just wants a job with a fancy title where it doesn't matter he does no work. I'm sure the only reason he keeps getting elected is cuz his district is extremely gerrymandered. I tried to find out what his net worth is and to see if there is family money but the numbers from various websites are all over the place.

I think you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned high school. Jimbo just never got over high school -- he's still living there in his head (god, I hate to even imagine what goes on in that head, and I'm a shrink for fuck's sake!), still being that doofus who thinks the girls are impressed and the other guys all wanna be his friend, but in reality, everybody is making fun of him behind his back -- and sometimes even to his face and he's too thick to know it. He thinks they LIKE him. He thinks he's COOL. He thinks he's gonna get laid! He is so pathetic -- and the worst part is that he isn't even actually dangerous, as some of these GOP assholes are (thinking de Santis here, for example). Stay in the locker room Jimbo. It's where you belong. Ugh. (Except, oops, the locker room is where some bad shit happened on his watch, but that's a story for another day.).
