Hope she's better soon, and now I understand why you missed the anti-AfD demonstration in Munich last Saturday that drew 250,000 - 320,000 participants. (Süddeutsche Zeitung, Monday, page 1). From what I hear Couchfuck wasn't there.

Last weekend over here in Germany, anti-AfD demonstrations didn't just manifest in Berlin and Munich, but all over the country, and in numerous cities, bigger ones down to smaller ones. It is still plain unbelievable how all of this could ever happen again around here. And then again, how all of this could ever happen again all around the globe which is currently going on everywhere. I was born in 1959, I have always trusted in and voted for democratic (social liberal) parties, and up until about 10 years ago, I firmly believed this world becoming a better place for everyone, well, at least for most of the people. But today, the future ahead is just a s***thole to look into.

Democratic socialism is by far the kindest and fairest system. Wish like hell our lives had more of both of those. Bernie would have won.

I'm with you. It's the only system that provides for the greater good. I vote with Democrats, but they are way too centrist and only really support people who fall into their narrow perspective.

Not to mention corporatists.

Take heart. I was born in 1945 (USA). I have witnessed the sturm and drang over the decades. I too am taken by the latest trend MAGA embraces. I still believe as MLK intoned the arc of history bends toward justice. Sometimes it just doesn’t seem apparent.

Exactly. I was at a demo in a Northern German City-State of around half a million and we had around 50,000 at our demo. Until around 10 years ago the world was getting better. Putin has been working hard since 1989 to make the world a worse place. Somehow he does not get that living in a shitty country that he has sucked all the wealth out of with no family around him and trusting no one, is a shitty life, not one to be envied. Trump does not understand this either. Of course Trump has lots of family around him and he does not understand anything anyway, except how to be a dictator. That is his superpower. He is not good a real estate, thus Greenland, Panama, Canada.

The Munich Security Conference was a hopeful note for me in some ways, and in other ways I felt worried it was all talk and no do. On the other hand, because the political conversation was intelligent, something one is not getting enough of in the US right now, like Zelenskyy, or Mark Rutte, or the PM of Iceland, so many, that I just hope that when those who spoke positively of Trump did so, it was because they were being politic and not what they really think.

Also, here are the Starbucks demographics according to them. Seems that the "White" women are working in greater numbers than the "White" men, but as a group they outnumber other demographics.

Only stupid people do not understand that we are all the same race, with variation in skin color, eye size and color, hair color and texture, ear attach or detached lobes, longer first or second toe, eye shape, skin dryness, vision, hearing etc... It makes us interesting. Cloning everyone to look the same is a terribly boring idea, and I cannot imagine why people would want that.
