"this week in stupid" will run tomorrow

Expand full comment

No worries, this is WELL worth waiting another day for the whole WEEK of stupid! :D

Expand full comment

I find it amazing that SOOOO much stupid can happen in just one week.

Expand full comment

This week had so much Stupid that it'll take poor Jeff a WEEK of Sundays just to cover it

Expand full comment

It is mind boggling just how stupid these magats can be!

Expand full comment

maybe be the one - Leigh Silverton

Expand full comment

This is, without a doubt, the BEST one, that is for sure!

Expand full comment

I'm a hopeful agnostic. and what literature doesn't have sex to show a character. I mean they said that about Virginia Johnson 2.

Expand full comment

Being fair Drumpf is a lot more used to making friends with people in white robes than black ones.

Expand full comment

Well, that explains it! He was thrown off by seeing Engoron's face, given all his friends cover theirs in pointy hoods....

Expand full comment

They don’t hide any longer and his ultra wealthy backers are hidden regardless so…

Expand full comment

Yeah only poor Klansmen have to hide their faces. The rich ones determine American policy.

Expand full comment

Exactly

Expand full comment

It’s against the law to wear a hood or anything hiding your identity. Has been for a long time.

Expand full comment

Because these people are known for following laws, yes?

Expand full comment

No problem! As much as I look forward to TWIS, yesterdays events were far too important not to preempt it.

Expand full comment

I am sure that Saturday will add ample entries to choose from post ruling.

It will be delish

Expand full comment

Honestly given how much stuff is dropping on late Fridays any more, moving TWIS to Sundays permanently might be best.

Expand full comment

What about next week in stupid? Like Melania will be buying her cosmetics at Walgreens and getting hair doos at Hair Cuttery with the rest of us?

Expand full comment

And stupid got stupider. Did you see the gold shoe line he introduced today? OH MY GOD. Nothing like having another "marker" to go with the friggin red hat that just screams "I'm so fucking in need of money, I got my hands on some old material they used for satellite re-entry shields in the 70's and sent it all to China with orders to make a bunch of tacky gold kicks." I CANNOT wait to come across my first moron wearing these gems with their red hat and the typical flag designed t-shirt stretched over an xxxxxl belly. I will spit cofveve. I just know it.

Expand full comment

I was about to ask—not that Trump isn't a "this week in stupid" all by himself, but with so much competition it's a shame to keep giving him the same "DUMBASS OF THE WEEK" medal every week....

And the GOP still wants him as 47. Unbelievable.

Expand full comment

Not sure all the party "wants" Trump, but they all bought him when they realized many people stupid enough to buy all the take care of the super rich only Republican platform were also crazed Christopath Dominionists who are just doing "god's work" and creating a bigoted Christian theocracy. So those people became an essential "base" of the party, from some white Southern Baptist evangelical church in Texas, led by a self-educated grifter/preacher, to Leonard Leo and the Federalist Society (Leonard takes grifting in the name of the Lord to a new level.) It was a co-dependency until Leonard's Catholics on SCOTUS gave the Christopaths everything they wanted with the Dobbs decision.

Barry Goldwater warned them, but they didn't listen.

"Mark my word, if and when these preachers get control of the [Republican] party, and they're sure trying to do so, it's going to be a terrible damn problem. Frankly, these people frighten me. Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can't and won't compromise. I know, I've tried to deal with them.”

― Barry Goldwater

Expand full comment

Leo = Evil

Expand full comment

Goldwater was, in his own cement-headed way, a decent American and a an astute guy--especially compared to what his party has now become.

Expand full comment

Agree, he was an early/mid 20th century Libertarian. I agree he was decent, up to a point. I do not like Goldwater (except for the cool glasses) but he did think a little about what it meant to govern and his Libertarian bent was stronger on the government should stay out of personal lives than our current crop of so called Libertarians who are mainly interested in keeping to government out of the business of protecting most people from the ravages of greed capitalism. That's why Goldwater was smart enough to be worried about the Christopathic Theocrats. I think he saw that only leads to capitalism with fascist theocracy. Barry G. was different from our current crop of idiot Ayn Rand by the bedside Libertarians. I wonder what Barry G. though about Ayn Rand? I am sure there's several biographies of Barry G. out there that might tell me, but I have more interesting things to read.

Expand full comment

WOW

Expand full comment

I guess his IQ is his lucky number (47).🤭

Expand full comment

That seems awful generous Donna!lol

Expand full comment

🤣🤣🤣

Expand full comment

Good one Donna.

Expand full comment

You can't fix stupid Joyce.

Expand full comment

They want his gullible, open-walleted-will-fall-for-any-grift cult, more than him.

Expand full comment

The icing on the cake right now would be his trophy mail order bride loudly, visibly exiting stage left. Surely even MAGA diehards realize when the ones who were in it for the money vamoose their $30 go fund me donation would be better spent on a PBR 30-pack than Donny’s redemption.

Expand full comment

“Donny’s redemption” is an oxymoron. Emphasis on “moron.”

Expand full comment

😃😃😃

Expand full comment

🤣🤣🤣

Expand full comment

There's probably a clause in the pre-nup that forbids that, or she loses big bux.

Expand full comment

Ha! Immaterial when there are no more "big bucks" available to lose.

Expand full comment

Good point! Another good point is, it's not as though he'd honor the terms of a pre-nup if she honored her side of it. That's why it always killed me when people (or Trump himself) talked about what a great "deal maker" he was. It's easy to make deals when you know you have no particular intention to honor them.

Expand full comment

All she would have to do is ignore the prenup and nondisclosure stuff, and write a tell-all book. The money from that would likely be enough to fix her up for the rest of her life in any stye she chooses, AND pay for the legal fees she'll be paying for the rest of her life ...

I found this:

Divorce with Marital Privilege

Generally, the protections that are in place to stop a spouse from speaking in the courtroom against the other spouse are no longer present once the marriage is legally over through divorce. The dissolution of the relationship severs the powers to invoke the privilege.

Expand full comment

Once they're divorced, would Jack Smith or someone from DOJ compel her to testify against Trump?

Expand full comment

Nice idea. But I don’t know.

Expand full comment

If you think she doesn’t have kompramat on him that might re-dis-nullify any prenup, I’ve got a valuable trump NFT you gotta see 🤣🤣🤣

Expand full comment

Also true. This is turning into I, Claudius, but as farce.

Expand full comment

😂😂😂

Expand full comment

I'm sure there are plenty of oligarchs who would be happy to buy her.

Expand full comment

Yeah that's being told it's illegal to dance now right after she had both legs amputated.

Expand full comment

Heard that she just renegotiated the pre-nup…..

Expand full comment

What big bucks will be left? so sad

Expand full comment

Not sure the trophy wife would be safe telegraphing her exit. She'd probably be better off finding a secure unknown location and trading in her phone in for a burner.

Expand full comment

It’s real life Mr & Mrs Grift — I mean Smith. 😆

Expand full comment

Yep..even if she didn’t get alimony, she’d get child support. Add that his list of bills.

Expand full comment

Baron's almost 18 isn't he?

Expand full comment

Melanoma? Where is she? Is she still on deck? Someone confirm, please. Oh, wait she is exiting stage left and heading towards the exits....what do we do now?

Expand full comment

I don’t remember anyone’s wife bailing on them when they were running for prez, do you? It wouldn’t convey strength or control and tbh it’s basic stuff like this his dwindling fan base might “get”.

Expand full comment

She just renegotiated her prenup for the third time.

"Page Six reports that, according to a source, Melania spent the last year renegotiating the terms of her prenuptial agreement with the ex-president, and that her new “postnup” is now in place. According to one source, the former FLOTUS wanted a new deal not because there’s a possibility she’ll have to move back into the White House, i.e., her least favorite place on earth, but because she’s worried about how much money will be left over for her and her son after Trump is done paying his various legal bills and damages. “This agreement was necessary because of the current legal battles…[Donald] has suffered,” a source told the outlet."

I question just how realistic it is that Trump etc. will be able to sell any real estate to satisfy his debts to Carroll and the State of New York. It's highly unlikely all his properties aren't already leveraged to the hilt with various financial institutions, and by law, said institutions' exposure must be taken into consideration and reasonably satisfied before Trump realizes a single dime from liquidating any of his interests. My guess is the splashiest yard sale in the history of bankruptcy courts everywhere takes place within the year, leaving Trump with no cash-flow, no income beyond what he can squeeze out of the RNC and gullible small donors, and still beholden to making evermore burdensome interest payments, at least, to the now-extremely uneasy banks and/or Russian loan-sharks who almost certainly will call his paper while there's still something left for their partial recompense.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Expand full comment

I was thinking the same when contemplating his comment about his beautiful and LIQUID assets. The word liquid stuck out like a sore thumb. Tells me in Trumpspeak they aren’t so liquid, I.e. leveraged to the hilt.

Expand full comment

Exactly. And "liquid" is always a relative proposition anyway, depending on how one defines it.

Expand full comment

The contents of his adult diaper are "liquid".

Expand full comment

Thank you *so* much for that indubitably true but nauseating reminder, Charlie Austin, of the likely chronic state of Trump’s undergarments. Ima go get some Clorox and bleach my brain now….

Expand full comment

😂😂😂😂😂

Expand full comment

Omg Charlie, I was just thinking this literally 30 seconds ago!! And it’s as appropriately as gross as he is! 😂 gmta and in synchronization!

Expand full comment

Good catch. On liquidation, the lenders get paid first. The balance sheet and profit & loss statement the Monitor creates, using real asset values, would be interesting to see.

Expand full comment

Thanks for clarifying that point! It's probably the most neglected aspect of this scenario.

Expand full comment

Ohhhh that's a great notion. Hope it's true. He stole all of it anyway, just like his criminal father.

Expand full comment

I’ve got an idea! A penny pitch. He could appear in public and we could throw pennies at him at the velocity of our choice.

Expand full comment

Not until we can all get some high tension slingshots. 😁

Expand full comment

And you think you aren't funny Donna.

Expand full comment

And if one or two of them turn out to be silver dollars, everybody wins.

I seem to remember the giant stone ‘coins’ they had on the island of Yap, the ones that turned up in Ripley’s Believe it Or Not. They’d have to be rolled by a team of sturdy men, but otherwise it’d work

I know a few MLB pitchers that can help!

Pedro in his prime.

Only thing I'd throw at him is poop

Expand full comment

He's thrown oh so much at us

Expand full comment

Fun

Expand full comment

Great idea! He might actually make more with a penny pitch as opposed to his ridiculous phony bullshit action cards that his sheep were buying. Just think if some MLB flamethrowers like Camilo Doval or Jordan Hicks showed up. A penny, better yet a roll of 50 thrown at up to 104 mph would perhaps remind him that being a life long shyster and fraud has its consequences.

Trump is a schlemiel. He was born into opportunity very, very few have and turned it Into a soup sandwich. So many off ramps to do it right, yet he managed to turn his life into a sordid mess from failed enterprises to an insurrection. His adulteries are catching up with him. His cons have come home to roost. His disregard of the Constitution and our laws are on trial. Perhaps his apologists will reflect on the moment before they tithe on the GoFundMe site. Perhaps...

Expand full comment

The nutsos are probably getting a bit concerned. But the phenomenon of ‘sunk costs’ will keep them impoverishing themselves.

Expand full comment

A notion of a sunk cost is to accept the loss and move on. The MAGA faithful strike as the monkey, its paw wrapped around the fruit in the gourd, let go despite capture.

You might be giving them too much credit for having a working brain...

I keep dreaming that one morning we’ll wake up and he will have skedaddled for Moscow. Buh-bye Donny!

Or was found keeled over in a bucket of KFC chicken from a massive coronary. 🤷‍♀️

Wouldn’t that be nice! He would be their problem. I don’t know what there old people homes are like . . .
