At this point, I am beyond and enraged at what the media is ignoring and what they're focusing on, which is Biden and his senility. Biden is not senile! Trump is. It's blatantly obvious to anyone with two brain cells. We're in deep shit if that son of a bitch gets back into the Oval Office. Seriously. I just wish he'd die. No really. I fantasize about it...

Not all in the South, but the mindset is decidedly Suthrin'! A term Southerners who feel comfortable with their bigotry hate my using, which Cracks. Me. Up.

I was recently watching CASUALLY COMICS, a comic book YouTube Channel (I need to watch SOMETHING to cleanse my brain from everything on the Right!), and the host Sasha Wood (from Canada, eh?) was talking about how fond Silver Age Comics (the late 1950s-early 1970s) were of "mind control devices"—used by the heroes! On the one hand, the mass loss of free will is too horrible to contemplate(!)—but then I see a few videos on Trump or his MAGAts running free and hateful, and I start to think "Hmmm".... 🤔

We need Biden to win, and a Democratic Supermajority in both houses! Quickly—I'm starting to read articles on brainwashing, and look at metal colanders with a speculative gleam in my eye. Stop me before I turn into a Mad Scientist!

Will someone tell me now what the media stands to gain, at this point, by ignoring trump’s cognitive disintegration? If they would finally focus on his mental status daily in their news stories it would still be ‘exciting’ and ‘provocative’ to the readers. They can keep their dumb horse race going just by showing trump’s mental problems writ large while explaining that his rubes are still into him. That would give them plenty of exciting stories daily of his hate-nonsense-gibberish. The media would finally force the GOP explain why they are still in his thrall and answer questions about their own culpability, etc. The media can gin up attention by scaring the f*ck out of all of us (even though 1/2 of us already are terrified) by showing repeated examples of Dump’s and his followers insanity.

Also it makes sense as Biden ages his stutter will be pronounced when he gets tired. In my 70+ years I have read stories about how the job ages the presidents. Biden has his hands full. An understatement. He knows our government inside and out. I bet the staff working for him are learning at a rapid pace as a result of his insights on how it all works. All this is to our benefit. If we get DJT with his grifter gang back we can kiss our republic goodbye or at least on hiatus while he and his corrupt followers plunders it all. I knew DJT would win way back in 2015. It is because we have been behaving like the U.S. is a corporation and we are the hired help on probation. I blame our educational system buying into the anxiety that every child needs to know their vocational path in elementary school (for God’s sake!). The move from learning to think and understand what it means to be human (i.e., the importance of the Humanities) to training to be employed is heartbreaking. But there was no stopping this disaster. His fucking brain has turned into Big Mac hamburger. I'm not one to pray anymore, but if it would help move that cholesterol stroke along I'll do it. His supporters are bigoted fuckwads. They want a romanticized version of 'Father Knows Best' but in KKK attire. "Bring back segregation", they say. That's exactly what Charter Schools accomplish. I do not have any empathy for his dumbass supporters. Buy it all.

I read the Salon.com interview with Gartner, and it sure cemented in my mind that Trump is not a well man. In fact, in this latest clip that Jeff posted, Trump becomes derailed and can’t even articulate what he is reading. These are dangerous times around the world, and giving free reins to someone like Trump and his band of acolytes would certainly be the end of America as we know it and likely Western Europe.

We watched Gartner’s interview on The David Pakman Show. tfg is definitely spiraling downward but his “followers” don’t seem to care. I often wonder if the day will come when the infamous Jim Jones koolaid will be passed out and tfg will encourage everyone to drink up the “best” koolaid ever produced.

Those idiots that attend his rallies are lonely people that see these events like a any big sporting event. They get excited about seeing and bonding with their fellow bigots. Just like in the old KKK days. It's picnics and popcorn. Fun for the whole family. They have costumes to wear, just like sporting events. Being the assholes that they are, they have been rejected by the general population. Through Agent Orange, they found kinship once again. It's the convention of, we do not have any emotional intelligence gathering.

It’s sad to watch some of our family and friends allow themselves to get sucked in. My own daughter was all in for President Obama in 2008 and 2012 then came a new boyfriend who was all in on tfg. Sadly, she got sucked in and continues to be a supporter. Likewise, it was disturbing to watch my father spiral into the Fox black hole. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor and many of his friends were WWII veterans but also got sucked in. Dad died in June 2020. Some of his friends actually wore tfg hats and face masks to his memorial at the Riverside National Cemetery. As we walked through the cemetery I wondered how many veterans who had be laid to rest there would be appalled at fellow veterans supporting such a deplorable (Hillary had it right) excuse for a human being who is out to destroy our country.

Again, see "God & Country" (anyone who reads this. It gives you an understanding of the Trumpists. They've been conditioned and primed by televangelists for decades. Look at the scams Kenneth Copeland perpetrates (John Oliver did a show on it). "Vote for me and I'll set you free!" ("Ball of Confusion" The Temptations) Follow a charismatic leader, obey him and you will reap rewards, support him with your money and it will be repaid multi-fold. They don't realize it consciously, but they see him as a televangelist. Think about it.

I think there should be more suits like Trump University.

Billy Graham was the first evangelical huckster. The rest saw the money he was raking in and copied him, and yes the segregation academies are a big part of that.

He was always a political person himself, though he resisted the temptation, quite strong, to run for office himself. After all, the money and power are better as the outsider with everyone’s ear....More importantly, he wanted Christians to vote. Traditionally, evangelical Christians had often found the political process ungodly and had relatively low voter turnout rates. Graham did much to change that. People such as Jerry Falwell get most of the credit for the politicizing of evangelicals, but while Graham is seen as less grotesquely partisan and horrible than Falwell, he had at least as big a role in this process. To his credit, Graham always distanced himself from Falwell and refused to get on board with the Moral Majority and the extreme partisan politicization of evangelicalism that so dominates the Republican Party today. But much of that is also just Graham getting old. His son would have no such scruples."What was really important to Graham was maintaining his position as America’s pastor and he did so by openly cultivating the love of presidents. This wasn’t necessarily that hard most of the time, given the number of southern or conservative western presidents during his lifetime. He was particularly close to Dwight Eisenhower, Lyndon Johnson, and Richard Nixon. One president he did not succeed in cultivating, not surprising, was John Kennedy. In fact, Graham had been part of a meeting of big-time preachers in 1960 to stop the horror of a Catholic gaining the White House."Not every president liked Graham. Harry Truman took an instant dislike to him when they met and hated him the rest of his life, referring to Graham as a “counterfeit.” It likely didn’t help when Graham excoriated Truman for firing Douglas MacArthur, calling the general “a great man, a great Christian” and believed the Soviets were “jubilant” about his firing. Graham had long spoken out against Mormonism, but when he endorsed Mitt Romney in 2012 (although there was plenty of speculation it was his son Franklin speaking through his aging father), his church did as much as possible to expunge all his anti-Mormon statements from the internet and other sources.

Graham also always found ways to increase his empire and his money. He was savvy that way, no question. He had his own pavilion at the 1964 World’s Fair in New York, for instance. He had a famous theological debates of sort with Woody Allen on the latter’s 1969 television special. The entire Graham family is involved in the evangelical grift, most notably his loathsome son Franklin who took over the ministry and moved it back to a hard right. The later period of Billy’s career saw a move toward the right and many speculated whether that was really him or his son controlling the strings.

The pure ignorance of these cultists should be more alarming to all-- but, until MSM gets it and starts to tell the truth on air daily-- nothing will change. We, as good Americans who respect the Constitution and the rule of law should put aside all the bulls*it and vote for every Democrat on every ballot from local to national.

I just had a discussion like this with my mom, who was quibbling over some candidate I don't even remember now, but said that she wasn't sure about him, but that Dick Durbin had endorsed him. I now vote JUST LIKE a Republican drone -- I don't give one shit who the candidate is or what they stand for, if they have a D next to their name, they get my vote. Period. Maybe if and when this Constitutional crisis is over, I'll go back to vetting people, but for now, ANY Democrat gets my vote. Republicans will NEVER get my vote again.

Yes, I agree we are the majority but voter apathy still is a concern. Somehow we must get these voters to be aware and motivated. There are about 250 million voters in the country and even in elections that are the most important about 100 million do not vote. If we can motivate even 10% of them to act it would be a great thing. Any ideas?

You would probably like 'Wonkette' as well.

Dok is the intellectual, Evan is like the gay version of Jeff.

Here is an exerpt of my favorite Evan column:

"There is a vegan restaurant in Memphis called Imagine Vegan Cafe. We have never been there because LOL vegan food. Next time we get a hankering to eat sand, we guess! Anyway, this restaurant is not far from our house, and from what we know from our local vegan pals, it's well-regarded. Or should we say, it WAS well-regarded, but then #ButtholeGate happened.

Y'all. Y'ALL.

A regular diner had a bad experience, so she left a review, like people do. It wasn't a mean review, really! She didn't cuss them, and she didn't say she was never ever fucking visiting again. She just wanted to let the owners know she found it kind of icky when she was eating her monkey grass salad with dirt dressing, and the OWNER'S TODDLER CHILD WAS RUNNING AROUND THE RESTAURANT ALL NEKKID WITH DIRTY FEET AND SHOWING ITS BUTTHOLE TO WHOMEVER WANTED TO SEE IT. She also didn't like it when the owner's other kid yodeled at her repeatedly while she was eating. Otherwise, it was great! Really good imitation food! Would eat again! Just, like, next time, hold the toddler butthole and the yodeling and everything will be great, OK?https://www.wonkette.com/p/vegan-restaurant-owners-triggered-just-because-diner-didnt-want-to-see-their-kids-butthole
