If he is convicted and God Forbid wins the election, can he pardon himself? And if so, if a president can pardon himself, what's to stop a president from going around shooting people at random? It doesn't make sense

No, a president cannot pardon himself. This is why Richard Nixon had to resign so Gerald Ford could pardon him.
What FrumpyтАЩs plan is this. HeтАЩs going to get elected (hopefully NOT), then heтАЩll resign (if heтАЩs convicted on any of these crimes), then the Vice President will take her Oath of Office, and her first order of business will be to immediately pardon Frumpy.
ThereтАЩs only one small hitch to that giddy-up plan. A Presidential Pardon does NOT work for state crimes, imprisonments for violation of state charges. So, Frumpy will be looking at being sent to Georgia to Durand time in state prison. Then, hopefully on to Wisconsin, Arizona, and Michigan.

No. Jennifer Rubin answered that very question this morning on her Q and A.
