Imagine having a dad who introduces his softball girl's team he coaches, before you, or your mom at his supreme court hearing.

Two daughters. After overturning Roe, just imagine if in the future one of his own daughters wants or needs an abortion. He is a rich, privileged, connected white man. He can absolutely secure a safe (but illegal) abortion for her. Laws only affect those of us, meaning nearly all of us, who do not have the connections, influence, and of course money to bribe someone. This is how it was before Roe when women died needlessly. Making abortion illegal does not stop abortion. It only makes it deadly for women. Conservatives just refuse to acknowledge this inescapable fact. Kavanaugh and his ilk are complicit in needless deaths. Awful, oppressive, regressive shitbags.

I remember before Roe. There was a local doc whose practice served the wealthiest. I walked in, looking about 13 years old and they asked no questions, just took the money. It was really expensive.

Luckily for you that you had enough money. Otherwise you would have been relegated to some back alley quack with insanitary conditions and imprecise knowledge. You may not be here now.

I know. The doc, I learned later, didn't charge me full price, but it was pricey.

Money well spent for your safety. Would anyone, like Kavanaugh, settle for anything less for his own daughter? And yet he consigns other women to a potentially horrible fate. Nothing but a fucking hypocrite, like all conservatives.

Conservatives' refusal to live in the real world is infuriating. In the book High Noon by Glenn Frankel, which is about the Red Scare in Hollywood and the making of the movie of the same name, he mentions how star Gary Cooper was having an affair with a young Patricia Neal. Cooper was married with a daughter so the scandal would have been bad press. Well, he was Gary Cooper, one of the biggest stars in the world. No problem. Called his agent, we need a favor, baby, can you arrange for it with a friendly and discreet doctor? No problem, Gary baby. Sent a car for Patricia, took her to see a real doctor, where she had a safe and illegal abortion. Remember, this was around 1950 or so, way before Roe. Like I said, laws are only for the little people. Money makes anything acquirable, legal or not.
