The question I keep asking! Asking myself, my friends, my old co-workers, my neighbors and I can't seem to find an answer. Thanks to these ghouls and freaks, I am ridind the crazy carousel of fear, anxiety and disorienting Matrix-like reality where everyday its; wash, rinse & repeat. And I want off this amusement ride. I am NOT amused. I feel like Howard Beal, I am (fucking) mad as he'll and I can take it anymore!!

Thank you Jeff. Indeed, those seeking to concentrate power and wealth (antithetical to any form of democracy) are not even hiding their plans. This is not a secret Lewis Powell memo to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. They are putting their Project2025 plans out there for all to see.

And the current Speaker is just another working to concentrate power and wealth. While Johnson (or evil Harry Potter as I prefer) has his own secret agenda, this group of fringe extremists will welcome anyone into their fold who embrace authoritarian control by whatever means necessary. And all of their willfully ignorant followers and cultists believe that they are the anointed ones who will benefit when they have aligned the Judicial, Legislative, and Executive branches of government.

It is a continuation of the January 6th insurrection and attempt to overthrow the U.S. Government.

Expand full comment
Steve B's avatar

SO, from my limited reading on their website, Project 2025 seems like a terrorist organization looking to overthrow the U.S. government. That's what I see, but maybe that's just from my "radical Left" viewpoint. There is NOTHING on the left that even comes close to what the right does regularly, and I get "Leftist, Marxist, Baby-Eating Monthly," so I would know. They are freaks, all the time, in every way.

And then there's this, from Trump's Lies Social, in response to Colorado and other states working on removing him from the ballot because he incited an insurrection/rebellion:

"Our country will not survive," he says. "If Crooked Joe and the Democrats get away with removing my name from the ballot, then there will never be a free election in America again." ... "We will have become a dictatorship where your president is chosen for you."

That is like, a 10,000 IMAX projectors-worthy post from that dumpster fire. Now, this lazy asshole is just taking the truth of what the Left posts and reports, changes the names, and reposts it.

The TRUTH, of course, is that is Trump is re-elected, with terrorist groups like Project 2025 around, and there are MANY more because they're freaks, we will NEVER have a free election again. We'll move on to Putin-like results where Trump or his proxy will get 70-80% of the vote. VOTE like your life depends on it in 2024. VOTE like it is the last free and fair election in 2024. Just fucking VOTE BLUE!

We used to call these 7 Mountains Dominionists ..... Puritans. They were wackadoodle then and they're wackadoodle now.

What I don't get is how they think there's something in the New Testament that gives them the impetus to pursue their goals in the name of the guy who had no use for political power, and was mainly passin on a message of love, obedience to God's laws, and the apocalyptic coming of God's kingdom to Earth.

Let this fanatics take control, and they won't be figurative witch hunts any longer.

What bothers me the most about them is they're self-satisfied, self-righteous attitude of I'm right, and you're wrong, because my holy book says so. And that they are so fanatical in their devotion to their religious fervor, that they fail to realize that not everyone will be converted to their way of thinking, and there just aren't enough people on their side to enact the measures necessary to bring everyone to heel. It's what sparks revolutions.

And terrorism.

And Project 2025 does indeed scare the crap out of me, and we all need to make sure it never gets off the ground.

I ALWAYS vote, I talk to my family and neighbors until they run when they see me coming (kidding), and do everything I can to reduce my energy footprint. I recycle and reuse (quilt-making from old clothes for example), I've planted literally thousands of trees, raise Monarchs to release, and am restoring a prairie.

Project 2025 while on its surface appears to be merely authoritarian driven is in actuality a significant element in the Dominionist drive for control. MAGA Mike Johnson and Heritage Foundation President Kevin D. Roberts Ph.D are friends, like actual friends.

https://www.heritage.org/press/heritage-president-praises-speaker-designate-mike-johnson

They both attended the University of Louisiana during the same time period. Johnson graduated in 1995 with a B.S. and finished at the University's law school obtaining a JD Degree in 1998; while Roberts completed his B.A. in History in 1996 going on from there to obtain a M.A. from Virginia Tech, and a Ph.D. in American History from the University of Texas at Austin.

What most people are unaware of with regards to Project 2025 is that the super-majority of its Advisory Board members, especially its original first 20+ members are all in agreement with a Transcendent order worldview, that is to say they all believe that a deity is in control and that it is their responsibility to propagate a Biblical Worldview, and are active in asserting an erroneous view of the early founding father's as being of the same persuasions as current Dominion theologies, when in reality almost all of the founding fathers were in actuality deists at best. (See Morgann Sinclair Ph.D. for his excellent treatment of this topic at the following Substack article: https://www.politisage.com/p/in-the-beginning-christianity-deism)

In the meantime there is another organization that is operating on much the same premise as the Heritage Foundation's Project 2025 that may be considered a friendly competitor that is almost strictly geared to installing Trump back into office; The America First Policy Institute; this organization is a who's who of former Trump White House Administration officials, as can be seen at the following link: https://americafirstpolicy.com/team

How’s that? Welp, folks don’t know who their school board representatives are, who’s on the county commission/library board, state board of regents. These are the folks who thought that they were informed when they knew the presidential and congressional candidates, but knew locals only by a vague name recognition or left down-ticket ballots blank. And here we are wondering how the hell we got here. This is how.

The death of local newspapers has made us ignorant local citizens. I remember reading two local independent newspapers each day in this small town; they combined, then eventually were bought by USA Today. I sat down with my grandson to teach him how to count column inches and assign a %age. Excluding the weather map, something like 20% was dedicated to local news, 50% of that 20% was dedicated to local sports teams. Little or nothing about the county commission, the city council, library board, school board (unless someone was making a regular ass of themselves during comments period). Right before elections, the local paper so-called will run 1-column-inch bios on the local candidates -- nothing about their voting records, their sources of funding ... There are ways, but they are often hard to find.
