christofascists and fascist fascists: here are all the dipshits trying to take over America
zealots and authoritarians and Donald Trump, oh my
democracy in America is taking a fucking beating these days. on one side you have the religious zealots who believe they’re on a mission from god to rule the world. on the other side are the plain old authoritarians who just get off on power for power’s sake.
and looming above it all, as always, is the quadrice-indicted twice-impeached popular-vote-losing adderall-huffing insurrection-leading judge-threatening gag-order-defying lawyer-ignoring witness-tampering disabled-veteran-dishonoring inheritance-squandering language-mangling serial-sexual-predating draft-dodging casino-bankrupting butler-bullying daughter-perving hush-money-paying real-estate-scamming bone-spur-faking ketchup-hurling justice-obstructing classified-war-plan-thieving golf-cheating weather-map-defacing horse-paste-promoting paper-towel-flinging tax-evading evidence-destroying charity-defrauding money-laundering diaper-filling 91-count fluorescent tangerine shitbag, ready to exploit whichever side prevails.
Holy Mike Johnson, our brand-new failed Speaker of the House, isn’t just your average religious whacko — he’s far more dangerous than that.
Mike’s a member of the most extreme of the extreme: a sect known as the Seven Mountains Dominionists.
The seven mountain (7-M) mandate or the seven mountain prophecy is a strategy for evangelizing the modern world and enlarging Christ’s kingdom. It has especially gained a following in Charismatic and Pentecostal churches. Those who follow the seven mountain mandate believe that the best way for the church to be effective is to bring change in the seven major spheres of influence in society.
let’s put that into plain english: Dominionists believe that God has ordained them to run everything — given them dominion over all, to use their language — and when I say everything, I mean every thing. here are their “seven mountains”:
1) Education
2) Religion
3) Family
4) Business
5) Government/Military
6) Arts/Entertainment
7) Media
Holy Mike and his cohort are on a mission to transform every aspect of your life to adhere to their own extreme religious agenda.
these are people who use The Handmaid’s Tale as an instruction manual.
here’s David Rothkopf in the Daily Beast:
The Speaker of the House has radically different views. He represents a movement that is actively seeking to institutionalize the religious beliefs of evangelical Christians into law.
In fact, even as we see with chilling clarity how those with a similar motive have sought to infuse the law with their religious beliefs on the Supreme Court and in state capitals across the country, Johnson may be the most extreme example of a dangerously empowered religious fanatic in our recent history—and yes, I remember that Mike Pence was, not so long ago, the Vice President of the United States.
The term Christofascism may seem inflammatory. It is not. It is intended to provide the most accurate possible definition of what Johnson and those in his movement wish to achieve.
so now we have an extremist zealot at the head of one of our three branches of government — and second in line to the presidency.
it’s scary stuff — scary because Holy Mike is in partial control of America’s electoral certification process — and Mike’s path to Dominionist rule depends on Donald Trump regaining the presidency.
why would these religious extremists back a twice-divorced libertine blasphemer? because reasons, that’s why. don’t question God’s plan, infidel.
also fighting democracy are plain old authoritarians. they don’t have an explicitly religious agenda — they just want to take power and hold it forever.
they have a plan — Project 2025 — and they’re not even hiding it. there’s a whole web site devoted to it.
their scheme is to purge the entire government rank and file and replace them with Trump loyalists. that’s right, everybody — from the highest levels of the federal government all the way down to your local dogcatcher. and they’re not waiting until 2025 — they’ve already started recruiting foot-soldiers.
school boards, election offices, the whole shebang — everywhere you turn, there will be a MAGA lackey ready to rig the system.
once everything is in place, we’ll stop having stupid little things like elections, or freedom, or democracy.
read the whole thing. it will scare the living fuck out of you.
and then you have the garden variety vote-suppressors.
RICHMOND — Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s elections team has admitted in the run-up to pivotal General Assembly elections that it removed nearly 3,400 qualified voters from the state’s rolls.
oh gee. thousands of qualified voters, removed from Virginia’s rolls, in the weeks before a critial election. huh, I wonder how that could have happened.
Administration officials stated that Virginia's computer software had incorrectly counted probation violations of the voters — all of whom had been previously convicted of felonies — as new charges that rendered them unable to vote.
ohhhh, a mistake. the computer did it. how convenient. weird how these innocent little “mistakes” always seem to benefit the people in power, and never the voters.
the thing is, Donald Trump doesn’t give a flying fuck about any of this shit.
Little Donny Fuckface’s ideology is this: Donald Trump should have all the money, all the power, and all the attention, all the time.
he doesn’t care how this happens.
if Trump could become King for Life by espousing the virtues of Marxist-Leninist dialectics, he’d do that.
and he’ll throw all these people who are helping him to regain power right the fuck under the bus in a heartbeat — as he always does. but by then, it will be too late for America.
Sweet mother-of-Minnie Pearl how can anyone exist with a brain this bafflingly warped? And why is this bullshit acceptable to other lifeforms?
The manipulation of religion in the pursuit of political power. They use scripture and religious tests to skirt accountability. It’s disgusting.
"Men are more easily governed through their vices than through their virtues."
