My 5yr old grandson had a sucker yesterday and told us it sounds like the f-word. Opps. We try not to say it in his presence. He screams "the bad man" whenever he sees King Shitpants on TV. Which isn't very often.
As a former nurse, i feel your pain. I'll tell you, though, I used to hate the word. Now I use it quite liberally and like AKRebel said above "It may well be the most flexible word in the English language :) Noun, verb, adjective, adverb...so versatile!"
Well Susan is correct, I was the Fucking Market Research Director ordered to do Fucking Focus Groups when a Fucking Phone Survey was what was fucking needed to support a fucking decision
Fortunately I had good bosses and management and staff for most of my fucking career; The situation I described was an outlier, but in retirement you finally get the chance to vent a little 😊
It’s a powerful word, Tess, one that reflects our current mess accurately! But then my career was in advertising, so I toss it around quite freely. 😂😂

I think back and I never used the word before nursing school. Now when I'm around "normal" people (not in healthcare), I have to watch my mouth.
