She is a perfect example of who the new GQP is. She is ignorant, despicable and should be censured by her fellow congress people she vainly tries to stomp on.

Unfortunately she will be in Congress for as long as she wants because A. She is from Georgia.

B. Her district is so jury rigged that no competitor can beat her.

I wish her the worst as if her life could really get any worse as a human being.

Expand full comment

A better question would be what the hell is wrong with Dalton and Rome Georgia who elected her to office.

Agree with all those on here who say: MTG is a problem, yes, but the much bigger problem are the multitudes of fuckwads that are stupid enough to vote for that imbecile. Education is lacking in our country, and electing people like MTG is proof of that.

Reagan started trashing people who were educated (too educated to vote for his trickle down bs) 40+ years ago. And then for reasons surpassing understanding Ted Kennedy joined W to end civics classes as a requirement to graduate high school (No Child Left Behind [sic]). Then as it became clear demographics were changing and evangelicals were voting for Rs, funneling $ from private education to charter and private schools took off with the voucher bs. As conspiracy theory as this sounds, it seems like a concerted effort to create an uneducated electorate that could be frightened and bullied into voting for the clown car of authoritarians comprising our current minority rule in Congress and SCOTUS.

Expand full comment

Sorry, I meant funneling education from *public* educationโ€ฆ.

Absolutely agree. The crazies and scary people play the long game....

I agree. Too coordinated not to be deliberate.

NCLB was the follow up to segregation in public schools.

If we canโ€™t pass laws to keep just POC less educated, the weโ€™ll pass laws that keep everyone less educated in public schools and indoctrinate them in private schools.

Also, use the voucher system to educate only those who can easily afford it.

No Child Left Behind really means No Child Gets Ahead, also.

I know Ted Kennedy had many legitimate regrets over mistakes he made while being a Senator. His biggest regret was to refuse to work with Nixon on a signature piece that would have ushered in single payer healthcare for Americans. Tedโ€™s mistakes haunt us today with the giant cluster that is now โ€œThorn in your sideโ€healthcare corruption. Both Healthcare and education, this countryโ€™s two most powerful institutions, have failed us. Indeed what was Ted thinking?

Expand full comment

So true. I still wonder what Ted Kennedy was thinking when he did Wโ€™s bidding and sponsored that bill in the Senate.

Does anyone suspect that Marjorie had her staff throw this โ€œpresentationโ€ together in revenge for the Biden campaignโ€™s coup of turning her own words against her in an inspired commercial? Whenever the other side wants to hit at Biden, they do so through his family.

I was struck, yesterday, by how many of Greeneโ€™s defenders claimed that the photos were in the public domain, and that โ€œeveryoneโ€ had seen them. I for one had not, and donโ€™t intend to. But what a justification!

So are naked pictures of Melania. Theyโ€™re everywhere. I never saw the posters on the house floor. What are they waiting for? Or do they have to pay her residuals?

Expand full comment

It actually ISN"T in the "public domain" any more than movies on sketchy websites that let you download them are. Someone stealing your private material and distributing it doesn't make it "public." Hunter already has an invasion of privacy suit going against the original distributors, I hear.

The fact that the repair guy could take the physical hardware of the laptop upon non-payment does NOT mean he could take and distribute the images or other materials.

More importantly, what is wrong with voters elevating her to Congress? Yes, the 14th District of Georgia.

Here she is! The best and brightest Georgiaโ€™s 14th has to represent them!

Originally she was running in the 6th district, where the competition was stiffer. Then, when the rep for the 14th district decided not to seek re-election, she grabbed her tin foil hat and Jewish space lasers and moved her campaign over to where there was no competition. So basically, voters were in a restaurant and the only thing on the menu was shit soup. And they ordered it.

I think she ran off her opponent with threats. Donโ€™t remember the details, but he (I believe) withdrew to protect himself and his family from her and her minions.

I believe you're correct about that. I think there was so much intimidation and nasty stuff going on that his marriage ended, and he wound up going back to his parent's home somewhere in the midwest. I actually called Kevin McCarthyโ€˜s office yesterday and talked to a representative. I told him that Kevin McCarthy needs to do something to reign in Marjorie Taylor Greene and that she should be censured and reprimanded. That she is a despicable human being that pornographic photos of anyone are not acceptable in a congressional hearing and this was a new low even for Republicans. He said he thought they were pixelated and I said no they were not. I used profanity at that point, and he said โ€œno profanityโ€ and hung up on me. I called back and apologized and said that I felt so strongly about this and it infuriated me. I told him I am a California constituent and I asked him if he would make sure that Kevin McCarthy was told my feelings and he said yes he would. Enough is enough!
