Like most sane individuals, I was heartbroken when The Supremes made their horribly corrupt ruling on “presidential immunity.”

Have no fear, Jack Smith is here!

His filing is so persuasive that I can’t see how even the corrupted Supremes can rule against it.

They will twist themselves into pretzels to serve their master. We shall see what happens. I think they will rule against it. What do they have to lose? They have a job for life no matter how corrupt they are. Their reputations are already ruined so where's the harm? Their overlords will only continue to pay them if they vote as they are told to. All the legalese in the world can't cover their stench.

Thankfully The Supremes will not get this case until after the election. Trump will be just another citizen by then and they won't have to bend their knee to him anymore. I say they bury him. There's another MAGA right behind him to take over, just like the mob.

I hope that you are right and that I am wrong. I think the corrupt supremes get their money from outside sources. Those sources require them to defend the indefensible. I used to think that of all the conservatives on the court, only Roberts had a modicum of awareness of the court's dignity, probity, and most solemn and influential position as the "Court of Last Resort." Well, that's out the window. Even with the disastrous rulings in the history of SCOTUS that showed naked racism, this is the worst I could have imagined. Corrupt, bought-off, religiously manic, insurrection adjacent, fascist-backed hacks. Just fucking hacks. History will judge them harshly, and rightly so.

Roberts once cared about the reputation of his court but all conscience left him when Ruth Bader Ginsburg died.

Clarence Thomas will go down in history as one of the most corrupt men to ever sit on the SCOTUS, unabashedly so. Ginni Thomas and Martha Alito will be remembered as corrupt spouses of corrupt judges, christofascist and un-American in every sense of the world.

Three women whose advice we should have heeded: Anita Hill, Susan Blasey-Ford and Hillary Clinton. They knew better than anyone about corruption, sexism, misogyny and racism.

Don’t you have 24 schadenfreude just thinking about the backfire of this entire exercise in futility? The Domino effect of claiming the 2020 election was stolen not only created a violent coup, laid bare the corruption of the Supreme Court, forced women into secondary citizenship status, interference on Trump’s behalf from the DOJ. Merrick Garland is ultimately to blame for the shameful lag of any investigation into Trump’s crime wave.

Bill Barr is probably looking at jail time. Seated members of the Senate and Congress, their predecessors and staff should be somewhat concerned if their name shows up online out of the blue. That’s the world of shit Jack Smith’s filing opened up. Not one person from the Democratic Party and what I like to call reality is involved at any time.

Oh one more thing, I’d like to address how Mitch McConnell’s schadenfreude will be particularly satisfying.

I bet he wakes up every morning and thinks about he alone could’ve stopped all of this. He could have wiped his corrupt record clean by stopping Trump in his tracks and had him convicted. His coulda, woulda, shoulda must be a crushing weight. He could’ve redeemed himself and gone down in history as a hero. Trump would have been exposed for the stupid, dangerous, evil traitor of all time. You, Mitch McConnell would’ve single handedly saved democracy. You should’ve done your job.

I wish. But I doubt that the turtle has a thread of decency which might allow him to at least ask “what have I done?”

The only person I’m aware of on the level of a McConnell who admitted to, and was ruined by, facing the reality of his own bad acts was Robert McNamara. Every time I see or hear a bit on how he never really slept again after coming face to face with and admitting his role in Vietnam (hyperbole? I don’t know, but I do love the idea) I have a little happy dance in my chest.

Not only did he fail to convict Trump, but he stole a SCOTUS nomination from Obama, claiming they were within a year from the 2016 election, and they needed to “let the people decide.” And then, when RBG passed away just WEEKS before the 2020 election—after voting had already begun—he allowed the confirmation of ACB to be rushed through. He is responsible for this corrupt court.

Louise Pattison's avatar

If McConnell had kicked Trump into touch at the first opportunity, I believe the Republicans would have won the Senate and Presidency in 2020, possibly the House too. Now Miriam has donated another huge sum to the current campaign, & what she wants in return is for the US to turn a blind eye when Netanyahu annexes all of the West Bank & make it Israel’s property!!

She was a very attractive lady with a light brown skin tone. The magazine received a number of inquiries from men if they could have her contact info. Haha, the magazine, which had explicitly stated that it was a CGI, had to say again that the image was not a real person.

I live in Hawaii where we have the most intermarriage in the country. There are individuals with 7 or eight or even more ethnicities, often including Polynesian, Asian, European in the same person. Less common but still present are African American and Native American heritage. While we do have racists and racism like anywhere else, as you may expect it is much less because it's pointless where people are very mixed. This is the future of America and the larger world. The white supremacists and other anti-miscegenation types are fighting a losing battle and they know it. Perhaps that's why they are so vehement. Same here Susan. Anyone supporting Trump is supporting Sedition, rape and a 34-count felon. They are helping support Fascism. I cannot, will not maintain a friendship with anyone jeopardizing my way of life and those of future generations. How outrageous!

I find with SOME it’s just plain old fear and peer pressure some folks are very timid and can’t stand the thought of losing what few “friends “ they think they have . It’s sad but unfortunately a part of being human ,fear sucks ! Trump sucks much, much more! He knows how to use fear to his advantage and he wields it as a weapon to gain any edge no matter the harm he does to others !🤬Although my most frequent response to a supporter of the Keeper of the shit is Hey 👋 opinions r like Assholes everybody’s got one or is one …have a nice day moron ! 😜😂

What world does she live in? Does she think any violence like a "civil war" is justifiable?

Has she seen what war actually looks like? I give you credit for being friends with someone like that. Pardon my judgment, but she seems like an absolute fucking moron.

Yippee-ki-yay mother fucker….as Bruce Willis would say (and me!). Excellent job Jack Smith-this should be a fucking no brainer for “normal republicans” -if there are any!!!! And Harris and Liz Cheney are in Ripon, WI today-birthplace of the Republican party——maybe a new start if anyone dares to stand up to dipshit trump.

My belief all along is that Liz Cheney will lead the Republican party out of trumpism and will be a serious contender in 2028. I’ve never been a fan but I’m glad she stood against the criming trump family & friends so far.

Jeff, I know you'll eventually address it too, but this dockworker's strike that started 12:01 AM on Oct.1 (a literal October surprise) occurred after trump met with the union leader, some gold-chain wearing multi millionaire. Coincidence? Check this guy's bank account next year if trump wins in Nov.

He couldn't do it. First he has to pass a drug test, which he will fail. Then he would need skills, which he doesn't have. Then his attitude will not change so there's no way he can be kind to people, because he's unkind. And, oh my gosh, his bone spurs might kick up, so to speak 🙊.

I’m not a lawyer. Doesn’t the Trump family owe restitution to the member of the Capitol Police&their families?

Trump should pay for the enormous clean up/repair of the Capitol.

Trump thinks whatever’s best for him is what’s best. He will never think he was guilty, but money is something he understands.

I know the Trump family plans to leave the country if he loses, but who will take them? If he loses his personal political capital will be gone.

Trump’s are miserable useless bunch.

Trump isn’t strong enough to handle prison? Will his dementia get him a break?

What a loser.

I am just an ordinary person, legal immigrant, naturalized citizen since 1967 who im.ediately started to vote locally ,in my state,in the General Elecection..as a REGISTERED DEM. Once I fully understood the AMERICAN VOTING SYSTEM ,I realized what a twisted ball of crap it was! That ELECTOR SHIT.... The efforts of one party to take away one'sVOTING right if you were born in some shack and you have no birthcertificate ..or worse !! They accuse you of not being born in America..hell..I know what country I was born in..then they try to take your right away and you know where you were born. That is WRONG . NOW..we know for sure that those REPUBLICANS like old Fuck , CHUCK GRASSLY, were ready to put FAKE ELECTORS IN..AS DESIGNED BY TRUMP & HIS CABAL.

NOW WE KNOW THAT THIS SYSTEM HAS TO GET ERASED.ONE PERSON.ONE VOTE.

Not to say that the EC is a good thing, but it's a product of back when horses were the only means of transportation, so vote results took forever to reach the capital, and because the Founding Fathers did not want a true democracy. They wanted only White, land-owning men to be able to vote. They did not want what they called "mob rule." Things have changed so much in 250 years, and the EC is an outdated, useless relic and millstone that we can't seem to get rid of.
