here's John Bolton, who once "liked" one of my tweets. "I thought it was the worst cabinet-level appointment in history until I heard about the Matt Gaetz appointment."

Expand full comment
Anastasia Pantsios's avatar

Gerrymandering and term limits. They utterly destroyed the state, the latter with the complicity of Democrats. I call term limits a "sound good" policy because they appeal to everyone — unless they think about the ramifications. They're why we recently had the hugest scandal in Ohio history (with Trump likely to pardon the now imprisoned leader of it) and gerrymandering is why we couldn't do anything about it. We had an amendment to undo gerrymandering on the ballot in last week and it was defeated because our Secretary of Voter Suppress...I mean STATE....Frankie "Jim Crow" LaRose actually put lies on the ballot including saying in the title that it did the opposite of what it did and wrote language so wordy and confusing some people could barely find where to vote. This little pig needs to get out of politics (Rumor is Trump has an appointment waiting for him.)

And when spouses of current shore billeted sailors learn their shore duty has been canceled because female sailors must have a place to go, stand by for some anti-retention. Sailors typically have to do three to five years at sea before getting shore duty. That's a lot of missed family time. Additionally, not putting women in combat billets hobbles their career. And look at all the money Elon could save by cutting back active duty personnel. They'd be fine with a small military and would be happier with their own internal force of storm troopers- a force who's purpose is to operate within the US.

Next up we see Poland reenforcing their borders due to the fact that Vlad has said after Ukraine they intend to move into Poland… after that conquest they intend to March into Berlin, they say this openly on national TV…..wake up people, we have seen this movie before and Donald will not assist any NATO country against Russia because of kompromat. 🤮🤮🤮. I love to cook and eat, and to feed people. The lemon risotto is kind of a shortcut - baked instead of stirred until your arm feels like it's going to fall off. And it's just as creamy and tasty as the classic version. Nice made with peas too. Think I'll have it with baked salmon. If you'd like the recipe I'll post it here.

Linda Fulcher's avatar

Here's the recipe for baked lemon risotto:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

1-1/2 cups Arborio rice

4 cups vegetable or chicken stock, or 3-1/2 cups stock and 1/2 cup dry white wine

1/2 onion, finely chopped

1 clove garlic, minced or grated

2 tbsp butter, cubed

1/2 tsp pepper

1/3 cup grated Parmesan

2 tbsp butter

Grated zest of 1 lemon

2-3 tbsp lemon juice

Place rice, stock, onion, garlic, 2 tbsp butter, and pepper in Dutch oven or other heavy pot. Cover and bake 30-35 minutes, until stock is absorbed.

Remove from oven and stir well. Add 2 tbsp butter and Parmesan and stir well. Add lemon zest and juice and stir well.

If you like, you can add asparagus tips during the last 5-7 minutes of cooking. Peas (frozen) can be added during the last 15-20 minutes of cooking.

I reheat leftovers in my trusty electric steamer for about 20 minutes.

Enjoy!

So who else on here has read that a couple of days after the election, the hot Google search was: how do I change my vote?

I don’t know why, but somehow that makes it even worse. We can ever get control of the government again, we need to make a test for registering to vote. Nothing stupid like North Carolina did back in the Jim Crow days where you had to memorize all the 100 counties of North Carolina . But how about maybe some basic understanding of the separation of powers? Maybe throw in questions about important amendments and constitutional guarantees.

My head is bloody from banging it on my granite countertops .
