I am claustrophobic, and I've been in crowds this big a few times in my life. I start to hyperventilate and get dizzy. I came close to this at a outdoor concert two years ago. Hadn't been in a crowd like that in at least a decade, and I had to leave it.

These days, the last month in particular, my body has turned to lead. I have Winston Churchill's 'Black Dog' sitting on my chest. I used fiction to escape it. Right now I'm working my way through the fantasy world of Canadian author Charles de Lint. I force myself to leave Substack and the news by 1PM, and it works. I'm still physically fatigued, but my mood improves.

I live in Southern CA, there are MAGA here, but they few and far between and usually don't advertise it.
