I'm sick and tired of everyone losing their shit and trying to replace Biden. He's fighting FOR us, not himself. Back him up, and work on getting those that didn't typically vote to go out and vote!

Ditto. A day after the debate, Biden had a hell of a strong comeback in North Carolina. He said he had been dealing a sore throat as the demented dipshit did what he always does and lied his ass off. One difficult debate performance isn't a legitimate reason to bail as Sen. Fetterman emphasized yesterday. Once again, the media has it's priorities back asswards and needs to focus on the real and present danger who continues with his hateful, destructive, no solutions to anything platform.

This isn't the same ffs. Obama didn't look vacant-eyed, slack-jawed at all, let alone most of the debate like Joe did. He didn't talk gibberish several times like Joe did. People aren't going to forget this, it's going to be played ad nauseum for 4 months, they don't even need to include the audio, just the video is damning. I'll vote for Joe even if he's in a coma, but all we need are a few thousand independents and undecideds in a few states to stay home based on that performance. I already know of a couple of democratic acquaintances who were horrified and say they can't bring themselves to vote for that, even as they won't vote for Trump. I don't have the answers, but acting like the debate wasn't the huge dumpster fire that it was is delusional at best, gaslighting at worst. No debate in history was worse than this for one candidate. The worst part is that his horrific performance took away from the fact that Trump lied constantly and no one even noticed.

Oh and changing the subject to Trump the dumpster fire is not addressing the elephant in the room. It is pure deflection. The MAGATs do that too.

The only place I saw that rally in full was on MSNBC, so it just played to the faithful. Plus, he had a teleprompter like at the State of the Union. Someone on The Weekend this morning said that a leader should be based on his worst performance. Do you really want to wonder if he's having an "off night" if a catastrophic emergency happens and he needs to make a quick decision? I'm not saying Trump would be better, he'd probably be in a Big Mac coma or jacked up on Adderall, but Wes Moore, or Gretchen Whitmer, or Gavin Newsom, or Kamala Harris (although she's widely disliked, which I don't get), or Josh Shapiro would.

Does this look like a criminal enterprise? A conspiracy to steal by Deception?

Why don't Jake and Dana and the CNN investigative reporters blow the lid on this bunch of crooks? Their own reporters have scratched the surface. Now it's time for every legit Press platform to call bullshit on the legitimacy of Trump World. Reveal that it is all a Money Scam.

Roger Stone--April,, 2016--Founds the money scam "Stop the Steal" and steals from the donors.

https://www.cnn.com/2022/09/26/politics/roger-stone-january-6-documentary-film/index.html

Steve Bannon--Founds the money scam "Build the Wall" and steals from the donors.

https://www.cnn.com/2024/06/25/politics/steve-bannon-new-york-criminal-fraud-trial-judge-trump/index.html

Donald pardons his inner circle of crime lords. Morally implicates himself. Mass media press ignores his wrongdoing.

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-55433522

Donald and his boys and co-conspirators in the Trump Organization are convicted for Business Fraud--$400 million plus in ill-gotten-gains.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/documents/f203be39-020c-4f82-a423-96aa20c08e3a.pdf?itid=lk_inline_manual_3

So. Why does the legit press ignore the wrong doing by the Trump World Crime Gang? Overlook their stealing by deception and lies. Since when in America are crooks granted deference and respect by the Press, especially while they are in the process of committing more crimes? This is an historic failure by the Fourth Estate.

Read Bill Browder. Donald could emulate Putin so a self-pardon would be unnecessary. If he controls the justice system and the courts (lots of high windows and balconies for disloyal judges and their families) he would never be prosecuted anyway. The RNC is already floating the idea that the Executive Branch should rule over the Judicial and Legislative branches. Gotta think in terms of a Mafia Boss in the Oval Office. Who needs a self pardon if you're the King? (Patrick Henry warned of this almost 250 years ago.)

He wants "immunity" to avoid prosecution for his Jan 6 conspiracy. But he can also use it for political cover if he gains the WH again. "The Supreme Court said I can break any law I want."

The orange sociopath has repeatedly told the same lies over and over and over again at his hate rallies, can spew them at a moments notice in response to any question or statement without regard to the veracity or logic. That is what we witnessed, a memorized and practiced spiel, not a person whose faculties were working better during the debate. I’m sick of the discussion of Biden’s age. The Sociopathic Hate Monger is an equally old man as Biden. Older people’s brains are not the same, one to the other! Biden’s brain has been doing cognitive exercise, problem solving, information sorting, etc. for all these years - while the Pathological Liar’s brain has been in decline intellectually since early adulthood. No arguments here about both of their terrible debate performance, but if I were up against a torrent of bullshit without any real moderator questions to interrupt or guide the truth, I would get foggy and lose my train of thought. Yet, the media hasn’t been talking about the terrible performance of a pathological, fascist, demento bullshitting every single word that comes out of his mouth. Why isn’t this seen as a humongous failure by all journalists and reported in that context daily? No ONE has successfully challenged Orange Vonshitzinpantz when he’s suffocating us with lies except twice with just one reporter and a single lie in the last 8 years. None of the moderators have successfully handled a pathological liar in the debate format. The horrible follow up has been the colluding media that ignores the main threat of a sociopath (supported by idiots) and spends hours and hours taking down anyone who tries to confront Donald the Menace. The talk about Biden’s age without saying that both of them are old is how you know that the media has lost its way. It’s complete neglect and stupidity that news organizations do not repeatedly and hourly emphasize the dangers of trump and his enablers with their pathological lies. They are destroying us too.

Did you read any articles discussing Trump's using the Gish Galloping technique, which is particularly problematic for stutterers? And, he is not supposed to "fight" for us, he is supposed to run the country for us. Not the same thing. Treating the debates like watching a sports show where your team had a loss is totally inappropriate. So, perhaps you should just be loyal to the team, and understand that you win some and you lose some, especially with the press against you and allowing your opponent to get away with what they do not let you get away with. Your anger is misplaced. There was no moderating of the debate, as if they were in the area entertaining the Romans, and the people who were supposed to be moderating were letting it get bloody. Why would you allow this fickle, undemocratic press, which is not independent, manipulate you like the press has been manipulated under "Strong men" fascists and their henchmen in the last century?

WHY have the media not made a big stink about that? The same belligerent attitude by Rs occurred when the outgoing Clinton admin warned that Intel reported chatter discussing Bin Laden’s plan to use commercial airplanes to commit a terrorist attack in the U.S., when the Bush admin chose to ignore it.

The media also said virtually nothing about the Bush admin using private servers provided by the RNC. The Bush admin also deleted 22 million emails but the press let that go as well. And Colin Powell’s personal AOL account had classified documents and was hacked several times. But the media yawned at that, too. I can go on but you get my point.

To me the next question is, Should Biden agree to another debate? I don't think so--not unless some provision is made to identify and refute Trump's lies in real time. And Biden shouldn't be required to do that. Asking Person B to fact-check the (endless) lies of Person A is like requiring the Ravens' offense to monitor and call penalties against the Giants' defense. An actual game is not possible under those circumstances. And even if Biden could and did say, "You said X. That's a lie. In fact, blah blah. You also said Y. That's a lie. The truth is..." and so on, viewers would be entitled to think, "Well, that's what Biden says. How do we know he's right?"

The fact is, you can't have a debate--or even one of these election year quasi-debates--if one of the participants does nothing but lie. The thing the other night was a farce. Biden's main mistake was to have taken it seriously. Oh, and CNN can go fuck itself at its earliest opportunity.

Okay. Then what he should do is, as soon as Trump starts talking, Biden should ignore him and, on his allowed pad with his allowed pen, draw a Trump Bingo Card of all the topics Trump will--inevitably, dependably--lie about: immigrants, the economy, Ukraine, Covid, NATO, abortion, etc. Then hold it up when Trump lies and tick it off until he gets a BINGO, and keep doing it throughout. If the moderators don't fact-check Trump, Biden shouldn't respect the process.

I don't think the Biden of the other night is capable of what I just described. But surely he and his people can change his approach. He said, "It's hard to debate a liar." That's true. So don't "debate" him. Dismiss what he says quickly--to the audience, not to him--and say what you want to say. And don't feel you have to fill the allotted time. Remember that Trump is not there to debate. He's there to lie and make a debate impossible.

My letter to the Raleigh News&Observer:

I went to bed Thursday night somewhat despondent about President Biden’s debate performance. I reluctantly stuck to my plan to go to the post-debate rally on Friday on the Raleigh fairgrounds. I’m very glad I did. The president acknowledged he was not at his best. He did not anger-tweet unhinged messages during the night about a rigged debate. He didn’t insult the moderators and imply retribution. He did not stand at the podium and whine about how mean and unfair everyone is. He didn’t accuse his opponent of taking illegal drugs. He accepted responsibility and vowed to “get back up” and fight another day.

I saw and heard a fiery speech about the importance of fighting for our democracy from a man who deeply cares about our country. I wish he had brought that passion and clarity to the debate, but he didn’t. I do have concerns about his age and stamina for such a demanding and overwhelming job, but I have no doubt that President Biden is far more capable and moral to lead our country than the man who serves only himself.
