This week—out of so many fucking terrible weeks under this stupid fascist regime—may be the worst one…yet.

I don’t want that sentence to age badly, let’s hope it doesn’t.

I keep circling back to Renee, and how her literal last name was GOOD—yet they are trying their damnedest to smear her as BAD.

We cannot let that happen. We must remain loud and persistent. We can do that!

Protests, funding mutual aid, or your favorite independent writers, calling your congressman daily. These all make a difference.

Let’s do this and vow for no more weeks worse than this one. Stay strong friends.

Jeff Tiedrich's avatar

I hear you. I cannot tell you how increasingly difficult it is to each week find five things that are funny enough to mock on Saturday

MzNicky in East Jesus, TN's avatar

We feel your pain, Jeff. We thank you for your service. None of this shit is funny. You work too hard. Maybe take a break. We love you. I sound like I’m talking to my kids. I’m going to go take a nap now.

Gayna's avatar

This week in particular must have been a mountain. The sorrow of a cheerful woman being shot THREE FUCKING TIMES in the face and then the piece of shit calling her a fucking bitch is just too much. I honestly wish that someone would meet him a dark alley and give him what he deserves. There are so many piece of shit Americans walking around now strutting around like they are big docks but they are absolute eunuchs without those great big guns. I despise every last one ☝️ f them and for sure that cunt Kristi Noem.

Anastasia Pantsios's avatar

I would be happy if the ICE asshole is given a life sentence in prison, but you know Trump probably has the pardon already written. Is there any legal way for Renee's wife to sue Noem, Trump and Vance for slander?

mary's avatar

drumpy cannot pardon state crimes.

Teri Gelini's avatar

I also read that and I hope Minnesota goes after him and makes his life hell. Firing 3 rounds was absolutely not necessary.

DebJS's avatar

Taking his gun out was absolutely unnecessary.

Denise Donaldson's avatar

The DoJ can remove a case involving a federal employee from state to federal court. I don't see the MN AG getting a crack at Jonathan Ross.

Peaceful Mary T.'s avatar

Despite being a Californian, I sent an email to the Minnesota Attorney General asking him to please find a way file murder charges against the murderer of Renee Good. I'm hoping that many will do that and that the pressure from all of us will encourage the AG to do so. The AG's email address is citizeninfo@hennepin.us

Only if the state can change him. Right now, the Feds are blocking the state and local investigations. 👹

MaryTR's avatar

That is what I have read. So, how can Minn get the chance to investigate this horrific murder?

john augustine's avatar

no he cannot but federal law superceds state law when it involved federal personnel

George in Atlanta's avatar

But he *can* send in SEAL Team 6 to capture the state's governor and kill its Supreme Court!

Oh, wait. He could have done that all ready, but he hasn't. Maybe I just don't understand what's going on.

Sharon Hudnall's avatar

My thought too. Trump can't be sued, I assume, but Vance and Daisy Dukes? What a nasty pair. And what's with the cartoon lapel pin of himself -- his latest merch for MAGA?

Robert Eckert's avatar

Under the precedent set by Paula Jones, yes the President can be sued civilly, just not charged criminally while in office.

shee-rah's avatar

If he can’t be charged with a federal crime, and he can’t be impeached due to the Repugnant majority in the House and the impossibility of a two-thirds vote in the Senate, then that means he truly is a dictator and can do whatever the f*ck he wants. How’s that invasion of Greenland coming along?

Anastasia Pantsios's avatar

Probably. He'd sell anything! What a clown. I think Jeff may be right though — he needs to remind himself who he is. He's rapidly failing.

Teri Gelini's avatar

Here is FBI agent Asha Rangappa explaining clearly and legally why Ross's was a bad shot. JDV needs to meet up with her.

https://open.substack.com/pub/asharangappa/p/friday-round-up-1926?utm_campaign=post-expanded-share&utm_medium=web

Denise Donaldson's avatar

That analysis is very thorough and clear. It's also extremely damning for Ross.

Linda Weide's avatar

Yes it is Denise. Please share it. The more people the read it, the harder it will be for the Trump FBI to turn in a different analysis.

Bonnie Council's avatar

And probably the reason they whisked him into hiding. They know he doesn't have a leg to stand on.

Lady Emsworth's avatar

Excellent piece.

Thanks.

Linda Weide's avatar

Lady Emsworth, please share it where you can. People need to know this before the Trump FBI produces their report. Research shows that the first person to tell the story owns it.

The Rented Mule Project's avatar

I'm sorry, Linda, but you seem to be confusing JD with someone who gives a shit about knowledge, logic, facts or the truth. There is no end to the list of folks who could give him good advice. What ends quickly, however, is his interest in any input that doesn't substantiate his lies.

Linda Weide's avatar

TRMP, I do not mistake him for caring, but more as someone who publicly shared footage and said that it shows that Renee Good is at fault, should be publicly saying that with Asha speaking at the same time to refute what he is saying. I should have been more clear about that.

Charles Austin's avatar

The pardon is no good on state charges.

Mary Greenwald's avatar

There will not be State charges if Trump/Patel FBI won't let the State of Minnesota investigate. I am sure the agent has disappeared to some other state to shoot American Citizens so we will be too frightened to complain. HA!! Not going to work!

Robert Eckert's avatar

The county DA is gathering witness testimony and videos, and the autopsy results from the county morgue with the bullets will also be evidence available to her. But Ross does need to be arrested before he flees the jurisdiction.

Joe Witkowski's avatar

He’s in the federal fuckface protection program - the Bondi DOJ

Linda Weide's avatar

This is why sharing Asha's piece is so important. Please share it Mary. The more people who know this, the harder it will be for the Trump FBI to cover it up.

Marla's avatar

The GoFundMe has already received $1.5million an Becca has closed it down, saying she doesn't need/want any more funds.

She isn't Erika Kirk--professional widow.

Marla's avatar

These ICEholes aren't law enforcement. They're not authorized to make traffic stops or enforce the law. Their purview is to pursue immigrants, not pursue drivers and their passengers.

What Jonathan Ross did (shooting into a vehicle) was explicitly against federal regulations. Of course, ICE receives zero training--I believe it's now only 6 weeks, down from 13.

If he had PTSD from being hit by a car last year, then he shouldn't have been on the streets this year. He should have been receiving mental health care, not running around, fully armed, on the streets of Minneapolis.

arne link's avatar

As I read, he reached into a car to grab the driver and the driver hit the gas and dragged him. Too bad, so sad.

Denise Donaldson's avatar

Don't waste time on impeachment unless you can guarantee at least 67 votes to convict in the Senate.

Jack Carter's avatar

Other solution maybe? Something more expeditive and drastic. Final let’s say, mmhh? Lol

Mary Greenwald's avatar

There are several Democrats who will not vote to Impeach. Look how they voted for Trump's Cabinet and you will know them by the company they keep!

Denise Donaldson's avatar

Unbelievably enough, you're right, Mary. It was explained to me the other day that it's unfair to Dems to insist that they present a united front, because, after all, it's never been asked of them before.(!)

DebJS's avatar

The initials JF come to mind.

George in Atlanta's avatar

I was thinking this way before, but things have changed. We're not getting 'guarantees' for anything, and neither is Donny. Everything is in free fall, nothing is predictable. Possible outcomes for impeachment include random Republican breakouts, and information being documented for future ICC or Truth And Reconciliation prosecutions. Time for us to do more, not less.

Daniel M Kimmel's avatar

I'm all for investigations but if they couldn't get a conviction after January 6 then it's an utter waste of time with THIS Congress. I *guarantee* there are not 67 votes to convict in THIS Senate. Look how they're pretending the murder in Minnesota didn't happen.

arne link's avatar

Trying for impeachment is a total waste of time. He was impeached twice and nothing happened.

Judy Luchsinger's avatar

I disagree. The fact that the testimony would be public and a vote could bring about impeachment, it would be worth it.

Daniel M Kimmel's avatar

It worked so well the last two times, didn't it? In fact, it helped get him re-elected. It would ABSOLUTELY not be worth it.

After the midterms, let's take a look at what the numbers are in the NEXT Congress.

James Starr's avatar

yes I've given up on the system to serve justice,

it's solely in the hands of the universe now and I'm here for it

Daniel M Kimmel's avatar

I'm not quite that cynical... yet. The lower courts are mostly holding the line, as are blue state AG's. And the Indiana state senate telling Trump where he could stick his redistricting demands was a hopeful sign.

It's going to be a long, ugly year ahead, but we can't give up. We just shouldn't waste our time on efforts going nowhere.

Margaret's avatar

Keep impeaching until it sticks. Maybe they'll just get tired of us.

Daniel M Kimmel's avatar

Waste of time that would only help Trump. Fight him now. And focus on taking back Congress where the Democrats will regain subpoena power.

Doreen Dalesandro's avatar

I see your point, Daniel. Agent orange will scream ‘witch hunt’ until he’s blue in the face. He, his maladministration, and his maggot supporters will make him out to be victimized😡

Daniel M Kimmel's avatar

Indeed, the superior Alpha male is one of the biggest whiners and crybabies of them all.

I despise Trump. He is doing horrible damage to the country and the world. But we have to be strategic about fighting back. A useless impeachment effort would accomplish nothing.

Good Morning Jeff, as I sit here I’m just shaking my head to make some sense of our nation at this moment. We have a federal government that specializes in lying 24-7, we have a delusional, demented, dementia president. We have only 1% of the Epstein files in contravention of the federal law that mandated a release date last December, willfully ignoring the legislation.

In today’s “Golf with MAGAs” I will be brief as there was not much interaction with my new group comprising 23 others. I have had email traffic with a couple of Golf MAGAS and what I came away with was to me.. horrifying. These guys are all for an invasion of Venezuela and all the other countries in our hemisphere. I attempted to explain the cost in money and blood…they don’t care… those are our resources I’m told.. I explained that our country does not have the troops to invade and conquer every country… crickets. I brought up US intervention in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan and asked the question… how can you invade and hold a country as vast as Venezuela? Since you could not in those other countries… crickets. And yet they continue to support an agenda that reflects fascist tendencies… I point these out and they just shrug. They seem to believe that our country is headed in the right direction, that prosperity is just around the corner… That’s it …. that’s all today fellow travelers.. I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired from this firehose of 💩💩.

HI2thDoc's avatar

Tell those demented old farts to join up and do the invasion themselves. Yeah, I know, they are about 40 years past their sell-by date. Easiest thing in the world to spout jingoistic kick ass bravado without any care about the danger, expense, and sequelae involved in miliary conflicts, let alone the political problems associated with holding onto what was conquered. And obviously the idiots don't care about sovereign nations and their national resources. What incredibly stupid assholes. Don't know how you stand it, Fredo. Thanks for trying.

Fastball Fredo's avatar

Hey Doc.. I’ve posted on another platform concerning golf with MAGAs. I was told no liberals play golf, told that I am a phony account among other accusations… I have to wonder why, unless of course they are bots from St. Petersburg.. I guess that’s the world we live in…Best to you Doc..

Outdoorluvr's avatar

Wait... these guys all play golf according to rules of the game, but can't see a need to apply rules where a nation's sovereignty is concerned? I think I'd start picking their golf balls up during play, grabbing their clubs for my own shots, teeing off out of turn... and just telling them that you have a right to what is theirs because they are in your hemisphere. Jeez, Fredo. I don't know how you do it with those knuckleheads!

steve robertshaw's avatar

I admire you for trying, just 'keep on keeping on'.

Claudia Classon's avatar

Thanks for your efforts, Fredo. I’m not sure what the “golf” part of this loose group entails, but these guys probably like that Trump cheats at golf and gets away with it. You can’t teach ethics to a cheater. Nor can you talk common sense to one.

Christine Zepka's avatar

Wow! Just wow. I live amongst the uneducated magats here in Western PA. There is no way that I could, or even would, try to convince them that they are in a cult. You are amazing to even try!!

michellefromchicago's avatar

These Maga golfers really need to read – – or listen to, on Audible or some such — the book Commander in Cheat. It was written by a serious golfer who cites chapter and verse about Trump’s rampant, blatant cheating at golf, as well as the poor quality of most of his golf courses and the way he swindles people at those courses. Very enlightening.

Douglas Paul Truhlar's avatar

Fastball, those boys won’t try to understand they know it all and have the answers (lies) loaded in their AK-47 brain cell. Most of it is brittle and non-flexible no matter the truth isn’t in there.

Fastball Fredo's avatar

Unfortunately you are correct Doug. As I have explained many times on this platform, I live outside of Phoenix AZ.. I assume everyone I come in contact are some variation of MAGAS unless they prove otherwise. I hold this rule fast and hard, during discussions with red hats I will offer my viewpoint if asked,I do not initiate political talk…. However if they are wrong on the facts, evidence or law I will speak up. My wife says these folks do not wish to challenge me due to my former positions career wise, but I do enjoy smacking them down with knowledge, treat them with the “velvet glove”. Consequently we are not invited to any social events…oh well Best to You Doug.

If anyone with any journalistic integrity would grow a pair and challenge his alternate reality manifestations with some brash conviction, he would piss his pants.

Daniel M Kimmel's avatar

I wish there would be a move by Yale alumni to demand his degree be rescinded.

Douglas Paul Truhlar's avatar

Is he a member of their ‘Skull and Crossbones’ cult too this is important.

meryl selig's avatar

Skull and Bones. No he is not. Societies recruit undergrads. Vance went to Ohio State for college and then Yale Law School

Richard Von Busack's avatar

He's one pink rhinestone collar away from being a purse dog.

meryl selig's avatar

Vile, condescending and rampant bigot. He can’t shed his genetic destiny

michellefromchicago's avatar

Backpfifengesight — a wonderful German word, loosely translated as “a face that needs to be slapped”

Joyce's avatar

He sure isn't presenting a good look for Yale Law, as he stands there spewing completely inaccurate "laws" he just made up in the privacy of his own head.

Reminds me of my sister's tale from law school: the very German professor called on the class dimwit, who never did any work, to present the case study analysis. Dimmy blithered on for about a minute before the professor acidly said [read the following in a very heavy German accent], "Sit down. You are wrong."

Robert Eckert's avatar

He is murderous lying scum

Reader/Writer's avatar

I remember when that stupid book of his came out and several of my book club friends were raving about it. I jumped on the bandwagon too but found I just couldn’t stomach him in any way and found the story completely unbelievable and nauseous. Never could finish his pack of BS. And the nausea has stayed.

Denise Donaldson's avatar

His book is lies. He grew up in suburban Cincinnati.

Judy McNichols's avatar

I had the same experience with his book....I read fewer than ten pages.

rlritt's avatar

The thing with Vance is everyone hates him and his wife is not "white". So he will never have all of MAGA.

meryl selig's avatar

Not sure that Vance is widely hated enough among the racists and bigots and idiots. The more vile he spews, the higher his approval polls go.

Diaperload’s sick ego and dementia can’t tolerate perceived competition. Vance’s arrogance may backfire on his fat ugly face. Or maybe that is my fantasy-thinking.

meryl selig's avatar

The brown-toned wife is definitely a detriment to his assuming the MAGA throne.

Mary Lou Williams's avatar

So he could shed his current wife and marry Erika Kirk. A complete marriage made in heaven.

Denise Donaldson's avatar

That speculation has been floating around for several months now...

He'll shed her like a winter coat for power.

The only times I remember anyone crying in Minnesota about elections were in 2016, when two of my sons were together at a bar and watching the presidential race results, and they saw it being called for trump. They both cried.

The next time, the same kids, at a bar in Minneapolis watching the election results, absolutely convinced Harris was going to win, only to find out a third of registered voters didn't even bother to turn up. They called me from the bar (forgetting the six-hour time difference, so it was almost 6 a.m. here and NO ONE calls me at 6 a.m. unless it's an emergency!)—both drunk, both crying. "I can't take four more years of him, Mom," one of them said.

2Cats2Furious's avatar

Sounds like you raised your sons well. I can absolutely commiserate with them on the 2016 and 2024 election results.

Terri Nighswonger's avatar

It is amazing how our kids reacted to shithead wining. I had just woke up and our daughter called. She said Mom are you ok?

Margaret's avatar

Awwwww... cool kid.

Robert Eckert's avatar

Well, it WAS an emergency

Dina's avatar

Yeah, I guess it was. 🙁

Denise Donaldson's avatar

"...a third of registered voters didn't even bother to turn up."

But we don't know that. At all. There was widespread vote caging; secret purging of voter rolls to the tune of tens of thousands of votes (voters didn't know until they arrived at the polls); provisional ballots tossed because reasons; mail-in ballots tossed on questionable technicalities; rules changed after voting had begun; and other GOP dirty tricks. There were stark, measurable anomalies among the totals (e.g., on the same ballot, votes for Dems down the line, except for Drump; huge numbers of bullet ballots), possibly due to interference by Elon's hacker posse. Greg Palast has said that if every legal ballot had been counted, Harris would have won.

Bottom line: we have no idea how many people actually voted or didn't, and what the results actually were.

Dina's avatar

Oh, I have no doubt at all that Musk had something to do with it. Remember when That Asshole was talking about Pennsylvania and actually said, "Elon knows everything there is to know about those vote-counting machines, so thank you, Elon"? Jesus, blatant or what? Yet no one said or did a damn thing...

Denise Donaldson's avatar

Least of all, the DNC or the candidate herself.

And Elon bragged about having to change only two lines of code. Rump told people at rallies that he didn't need their votes, and then, "You'll never have to vote again."

Yep, couldn't have been more blatant. He can't help but tip his hand, every time.

Dina's avatar

As we know, every accusation is a confession with them. When all he does is screech about "Democrats are rigging the election!" we know exactly what that means.

Denise Donaldson's avatar

We certainly do! And how bold (dumb?) are they that they always, always give it away??

Another disastrous week for America. I’ve tried out the new year and decided to return it, especially if this is a preview.

Nazi bar and child porn Emporium lol

Of course he’s back in the fold, the midterms are coming, and he’s gotta be present to manipulate the voting tabulators again.

The “leaked” body cam footage where the wife beater calls Renee Good a fucking bitch after he shoots her in the head three times and walks off while she bleeds to death was just more than we can bear. Today’s protest simply won’t be enough to release all of the anger that I harbor for these ugly vindictive racists.

The way I see it, aside from the actions of that heinous ICE assassin the one person responsible for this murder and for the suffering of countless other human beings,is son of Russian Jew immigrants Stephen fucking Miller.

rlritt's avatar

If I were Stephen Miller, I'd be worried. He thinks if he spouts MAGA BS he will stay on top. But there will be reckoning, and he looks, to me, like they're setting him up to be the perfect scapegoat.

Gina's avatar

setting himself up, the arrogant bastard

Denise Donaldson's avatar

"...he’s gotta be present to manipulate the voting tabulators again."

Thank you! I wish more people believed that.

AuntTeeFa's avatar

Tons of solid evidence.Election truth alliance started the ball rolling with the anomalies like what they call the Russian tail. A statistical near impossibility.

Substack “this will hold” is some excellent reading as well and she posts 3 to 4 times monthly.

Just call me Mulder: I absolutely believe.

Denise Donaldson's avatar

Yep, read ETA'S analysis right after it came out. Have also seen a post or two from "this will hold." I absolutely believe, too, but many people (even supposedly liberal Dems) actually get angry at the suggestion that the election was bogus. Really offended and indignant.

Schnauzermom's avatar

Jeff, I really don’t know what I would do without your on-target accounts of the current insane asylum we currently call America. It helps so much to laugh in the midst of the tears. Thank you.

And since Congress isn’t going to do a fucking thing about the walking abomination in the Gold House, We The People must. The folks behind the No Kings protests are organizing protests around the country this weekend under the banner of ICE Out For Good. Go to indivisible.org to find out where the nearest one will be and let our voices be heard!

"...where the East Wing was razed to make room for his beloved Epstein Dance Hall...". Your talent for just the right words to bring tears to my eyes from laughing almost matches trump's wringing of tears from his worshippers (at least in his demented tellings).

rlritt's avatar

Now there are news paper articles promoting Trump's WH plan, saying its about time someone realized it needed a ballroom.

Joyce's avatar

I saw a reference to that.....Also--according to the WH, renovating the East Wing was "not feasible." $400 million? Hell, if they'd let me know, I'm sure I could have taken that and gotten some new curtains for them. I could have picked them up in the new Target's in Greenland.

rlritt's avatar

Ha ha!

In the effort to polish this turd, I read an article that said the White House really did need a ballroom to host big events, so this was really a good idea.

Wendymae's avatar

And I read yesterday that the new plan is to add another story to the west wing so that the dance hall doesn't dwarf the WH so much. Another couple hundred mil in the mad king's pocket I guess.

Douglas Paul Truhlar's avatar

Wendymae, an article read that the ‘Situation Room’ was directly under the hole that now exists there, that would say something about dear leader skills, so far he cand knock things down that’s it.

Not to mention (because I hate having her name issue from my mouth) the almost immediate statement by Noem saying Good was a domestic terrorist while wearing that ridiculous cowboy hat on top of her shitty extensions. 1. I subjected myself to pASStor Dale’s pretzel logic and sure enough there’s a picture of a woman from the 50’s all dressed up and wearing an apron. Instead of that argle bargle, the picture was enough explanation.

2. Donny reading spineless Marco’s note out loud should be a reminder that reminders don’t work with him.

3. Bobert should really change her name to Boobert. Covers all bases

4. Going to a protest today.

There was a whole lot of outrage in the megaMAGAmoronosphere about the complete "They're eating the pets!" fabrication. A real, actual murder of a Christian white mother isn't as important to them? I don't get it.

2Cats2Furious's avatar

They don’t even seem to care about the poor doggo in Good’s backseat when she was murdered.

US Blues's avatar

There was a dog?

Not allowing Good medical care immediately is beyond reprehensible.

2Cats2Furious's avatar

Yes. You can see the doggo at the beginning of the video taken by the ICE murderer. The Guardian says it was “reportedly unhurt.”

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/jan/09/ice-agent-minneapolis-bodycam-footage

There was a dog??? That makes it the worst thing ever done in the history of the country--in my opinion. What a lot of vicious scum!

Denise Donaldson's avatar

Absolutely the worst!

Joyce's avatar

Hence the portrayal of Good as a degenerate radical leftist. I'm surprised they haven't done a magazine cover of her with an Afro and a fist bump yet.
