As new transplants from Chicago we were not confident that there was a progressive element hereabouts. Pleasantly surprised. Great signs and enthusiastic crowds crowded Main Street and brought the people's message loud and clear. There may be hope here after all. Lots of old hippies and protesters present, and thankfully youth turned out in numbers.

I took part in the Syracuse NY rally of more than 4,000 protesters. It was wonderful. I went to one a few weeks ago that seemed to be mostly older folks, but this one had kids, teenagers, college students and lots of old people like me. I pray we can make a difference…
