the Manchurian Kennedy: who benefits from an RFK Jr. candidacy
it's the one question you always have to ask yourself
is RFK Jr. a tool, or an accomplice?
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is a toxic hot mess. this we already know. his embrace of conspiracy theories, his vaccine denial, his palling around with Fox News types, his platforming of Hitler fanboys, his all-around generally dipshittery, and on and on, all of this is well-documented.
and now we can throw antisemitism onto the top of the big stinky shitpile.
the question we need to be asking ourselves is, who benefits from the Manchurian Kennedy’s candidacy? because it’s not the Democratic Party.
Fox News fucking loves RFK Jr.
seriously, they’re promoting RFK Jr.’s candidacy as hard as anybody. they can’t get enough of the guy. why? because Fox News fucking loves a chaos agent — especially a chaos agent who will siphon votes away from Joe Biden. Fox News is the propaganda wing of the Republican Party. what’s good for the GOP is good for Fox News.
the Republican power elite fucking loves RFK Jr.
guess who’s going to be the star witness in one of Jim Jordan’s dipshit hearings this week? that’s right.
why? what does Robert Fucking Kennedy Junior know about the weaponization of government?
nothing. he knows nothing. he’s not in government. he’s not in big tech.
but he is a fucking clown who might draw votes away from Joe Biden, and so the Republican Party wants to get his face on TV as often as possible.
rank-and-file Republicans fucking love RFK Jr.
here’s a fun fact: Republicans make up the largest bloc of Junior’s campaign donors.
they are literally keeping his candidacy alive.
because once again, every vote for RFK Jr. is a vote against Joe Biden.
the corporate media fucking loves RFK Jr.
why? for the same reason they love Donald Trump: he’s a technicolor spectacle, and the media loves a technicolor spectacle. it sells newspapers. it generates clicks. and it’s so much more fun to report on a clown show than to have to sit down and analyze a Biden policy paper. does it matter to the media if an RFK Jr. candidacy derails Joe Biden’s and ushers in a second Trump administration?
do we even have to ask? we already know that the media cares fuck-all about the preservation of democracy.
billionaire tech bros fucking love RFK Jr.
Twitter Jack has already endorsed him for president. Elon Musk pushes Junior into all of our feeds. firstly because they believe the same whacked out bullshit that RFK Jr. does. secondly because they will absolutely benefit from the tax cuts and deregulation that the next Republican presidency will bring them.
so there you have it.
but right now I’m not getting too worried about this. I’m inclined to believe that RFK Jr. is a flash in the pan.
right now he’s polling well because he has a famous name, and this far out from the election, people aren’t paying attention to the news.
but as we draw closer to primary season and the general election beyond it, people will start paying attention, and Junior’s beliefs are fairly repellent to mainstream Democrats.
look for RFK Jr. to fade away, despite the Republican’s best efforts to keep his face on television as often as possible.
do I think RFK Jr. is sowing chaos on purpose? no, he’s just a preening crackpot narcissist who genuinely believes he can win the presidency. we have no shortage of those in America.
so, does that make RFK Jr. a tool, or an accomplice?
at the end of the day, does it really matter?
folks, a word on a different subject before I let you go: we’re doing some quarterly fundraising at my other venture, The Smirking Chimp. I’m leery of even mentioning it because if you’re one of the people paying to support my own writing here, you’re already doing god’s work and you’re already doing more than enough to help out. but if you’ve got five dollars that you absolutely wouldn’t miss and you do feel like supporting the Chimp, well, that just makes you twice the hero. the donation link is here, or you can go straight to paypal if you need no further convincing. and if you don’t care to donate, that’s totally cool, too, and we will not speak of this again. in fact, we never had this conversation. thanks for listening and that’s it from me for now.
I have no idea what level of support RFK Jr. holds among my readership, but I guess I'm about to find out.
I still wish Ethel weren't 95 years old. That boy needs a good ass whipping the way only a Catholic mom can give
