yeah, I know the first half is frivolous — but admit it, if I led with the bunker buster stuff, you would have been all 'Uncle Jeff, why are you making us read about Iran again' and I would have had to have been all 'shut up and eat your broccoli, it's good for you'

this is the part where I assume that everyone is as fascinated by my writing process as I am

Valuable reporting! Here I believed Donnie the Doorknob’s General and expected it to be 3 - 6 months before Iran would be back to nucularizing and only 5 days? I want my money back!

mark rubin's avatar

Speaking of money - how much did this dog and pony show cost we the people? Add that to the cost of the Mad King’s birthday parade to equal ……..zero accomplished.

Lady Emsworth's avatar

You could have built a small community hospital in rural Wyoming with the money from Donnie's Big Boy's Birthday Bash.

george campbell's avatar

And when Musk was around , his money could have saved all the financially troubled hospitals in Massachusetts and other states that were victimized by the Steward scandal and forced to close . Elon could have been a hero ; I would say that today , he does not carry that accolade with him about anything in his life .

Gina's avatar

tho of course it's totally insane that the richest bestest etc country in the world has troubled hospitals that need billionaires to bail them out

rlritt's avatar

I think that very, mega rich people are even more worried losing money than normal people. They will spend a ton on themselves but nothing to help other people, and they try to get the government to help them financially with their business.

Chris Hierholzer's avatar

Unfortunately he doesn't think like that but I like your style.

Robin D's avatar

Billion of wasted dollars. It is sickening.

Diana Hembree's avatar

Especially with all the cuts to and even elimination of our valuable research agencies and to scientists who were already working on important grants when the money was clawed back. And the cruel and deadly near-obliteration of USAID and the hundreds of thousands of hard-working federal workers fired on the pretext of "poor performance," which was just a form letter and a lie; he and his team knew nothing about their performance. There should be legal consequences for these actions.

Robin D's avatar

Aside from the unimaginable cruelty and suffering this regime, has and will continue to cause for the most vulnerable of us, one of the most terrible losses to our country and the world is our loss and stature of leading scientific and medical research. Cancer, Alzheimers, The best and brightest that used to come here will leave, or have left, We had the most renowned teaching hospitals. I don't think we will recover from the "brain drain" It's getting longer to wait for doctors appts. While Joni Ernst tells us we're all going to die and Mitch 🐢 says we'll get over it. The good that we were known for doing around the world is over. RFK Jr will kill us. I never understood this " Make America Great Again". I don't remember one thing the Orange Menace did for us during 1.0. He was so tied up in law suits and impeachments. Covid. The insurrection. Now he is on his way to finishing us off. It seems clear to me that their goal is like Nazi eugenics. They want to get rid of all the "drains on society". Yes, there should be legal consequences, but our judiciary is the last thing struggling to stand, and I fear it won't hold. Especially with SCOTUS.

I confess, I am one of those who just took our gov't working for granted..It just always did. I never really had to deal with anyone in gov't, until during covid. I turned 65 and had to enroll in Medicare and had a problem doing it online. I really wanted to deal with a person.Did it all over the phone, and by email, with the nicest and most helpful people who were working office hours from home during the pandemic.I bless them to this day. And finally when I enrolled in SS. Waited till 67.5 to enroll, it was the same professional experience. Sad all around. While also pissing aeay millions on his golf games and turning the Oval Office into Versailles. No one who intends to leave does this. 😱

Last night Ben Meiselas (of Meidas Touch) showed the form 'begging letter' he got from frump (as Jeff does, Ben and his brothers tune into the worst of them so the rest of us don't have to puke), so he was addressed as 'one of my best supporters'. Frump LITERALLY begged for money FOR HIS PRESIDENTIAL something or other -since the 'deadline was approaching'. Even Ben said: 'WTF?'(He's the lawyer of the 3 brothers and usually the most temperate, language-wise). While mad king demento is boasting about crypto/bitcoin bullshit, MY thoughts are (don't quote me now) is that the entire thing is going to ex or im-plode in a huge burst of dust with all involved left coughing and needing major exfoliation asap. What exactly is bitcoin/crypto built on, ask yourself? NOTHING! ZERO! NADA! ZIP! ZILCH! It's ephemeral, a cloudy 'nother scam - which is WHY it so appealed to the lifelong conman grifter and his spawn! I might not be around WHEN it all collapses and those 'claimed to be' trillionaires lose everything - but I sure hope I am. I've made sure what remains of my 401k is NOT invested in anything even 6 degrees of separation away from this scam. Your opinion may vary and that's fine if you have money to play with, but don't say you weren't warned. My husband told me just this morning that I've been 'amazingly accurate' about every. single. 'prediction'. I've made since 2016 specifically, so there's that. My main 'want' from Karma is for every one of these oligarchs/rich bitches to lose everything. It doesn't seem too big an ask at this point?

A.J. Madison's avatar

Thank you Elizabeth, I keep seeing postings, recently of the ilk, "Just WTF is crypto." Those pushing the scam, claim its "like investing in commodities." Sorry, when you invest in commodities, you are actually buying something, something you hope will go up in value. When you buy crypto, you're buying NOTHING! Cranky people, myself included, state that crypto is at *best* gambling. Another accurate phrase is STEALING.

Anastasia Pantsios's avatar

You know who tried to fob crypto off on Cleveland, Ohio, even duping city leaders to gush over him and promise to give him one of our central pieces of downtown property to build "Blockland" and make Cleveland the crypto capital of the U.S., a project that evaporated exactly as I predicted it would when I first heard about it?

"Senator" Bernie Fucking Moreno, who robbed us of our excellent, fighting-for-working-people Senator, Sherrod Brown, by running ads saying that Sherrod would unleash an army of transgender sex offenders to rape little girls in public restrooms. He must've meant to say an army of "pastors" and "Republican officials" (here in Ohio often one and the same) because that's who seems to keep getting caught red-handed molesting kids.

Elizabeth Schulz's avatar

SO this - and, you are most welcome: it's nice to know I'm not alone in feeling it's all the huge scam I've yelled about since day one. I can't believe so many people have deluded themselves into putting good money into this BS. I'd understand if they desperately need funds to stay afloat doing a quick investment in and out, but those doing it out of pure greed (cue the orangutan and his muskrat pal- former pal? for sucking others into it). I DO know that some magats aren't 'all' bad, at least I've tried to convince myself of this - but for the great majority, I can only hope they lose their shirts. Perhaps THEN they'll finally see demento for what he's always been: a flim flam conman.

Robin D's avatar

I love your last line Elizabeth about karma. I feel the same. Crypto is also dark money.Untraceable...which is why every scum on earth loves it. I count with my fingers, I don't really understand it,or a lot about finance, but doesn't the fact it's all digital use huge computing power and electrical resources to create it?They also need huge data centers for AI. Where do they plan on getting the power? Just pure greed with everything.

Elizabeth Schulz's avatar

Robin: My 'feelings' about crypto are my gut/fey instincts I've had since I was small (and usually dead on about everything). My sister called it my 'witchy' powers when I'd know things I couldn't possibly. I don't work at it - it's simply something I 'know without knowing' (if you know what I mean?) :) Actually, I think most of us have this ability but might not always be 'tuned in'. I wouldn't dare claim to understand crypto at ALL. I believe NO ONE does, except the crooks who dreamt it up as they figured out how to steal the actual physical gold which DOES support our economy (or partly, anyway). It's been my deep belief that frump et al are after THAT gold and nothing less will satisfy them. If you listen carefully, eventually he gives it away about 'gold'. Everything YOU feel rings true as well. 'Nucular' (his pronounciation) can power much of what they'll need which (to me) lies behind much of orange man's obsession with Iran's uranium and the flat-out lies about it being 'obliterated', especially since he gave them plenty of time to move it then accused others of being 'the leaker', lol. Remember our immense North Eastern black out some years back? That could happen again - at will. We're individually at the mercy of those with that kind of cruel power. I only wish my good friend Karma would hurry the hell up!

Anastasia Pantsios's avatar

I've gotten dozens of emails telling me Trump is saving a special keepsake for me as one of his best supporters if I just claim it within an hour. Some emails have told me that Trump has personally been looking for my name on his donor list and will be so disappointed to think I don't support him "anymore."

Jeff: I read every word of your posts. What you call 'frivolous' begins my day (I'm up late so sleep in the mornings). Some of what you post keeps a smile or grin on my face for hours. Yesterday's sporkfoot banging that gavel over and over and over had me chortling ALL DAY LONG! I finally showed it to hubby this morning (not a good day for him yesterday) and I saw a smile on his face. I'm waiting for the 'hammer' end to fly off and conk her in the eye. Someone please tell me it's not 'all of a piece' which would give me a sad end to that dream.

Elizabeth Schulz's avatar

On this point, Michael - I had this odd sort of daydream (if you will). Perhaps a presentiment? I'd earlier caught some footage of orange idiot 'touring' what he's dubbed 'alligator alcatraz' (and even SELLING MERCHANDISE FOR! Grrrrrr) but I digress as usual. I came awake a bit later...with this horrible vision of real alligators (I've BEEN through Alligator Alley several times when my parents lived in Jensen Beach, Fla. even risking life and limb to photograph those critters much too close to the water's edge. In my defense I was young and not-so-knowledgeable about their speed on land.) (I WAS faster than them, then). ANYway, they were surrounding and dragging away the sleeping GUARDS at this horrific excuse for a concentration camp in OUR Country. So far others have only reported about the heat, mosquitoes and snakes as 'awful things there'. I realized then that the captives would still be perfectly safe since THEY would be within the cages but their captors would not. Have these people the remotest idea that Alligators are protected, so they can't just shoot them? Have they made ANY provisions for keeping them away from this internment camp or is the idea to terrorize WITH these creatures? I don't know at all, but so far haven't heard anyone else ask what seems to be a fairly pertinent question! So in this aspect at least, they are NOT being 'good at', although clearly are working hard to be even more stupid and cruel. However, if my wee 'dream' was accurate, they just might have FA and will FO in short order I would hope Gnome and orange would be paying a visit at the time, of course. ;) My bad.

Jeff Tiedrich's avatar

don't get me started on the discussion Ms Spouse and I had over 'bingeing' vs 'binging'

Barbara Rengstorff's avatar

I’m with whoever was for “bingeing” because “bingeing” is pronounced “bin- jing”. “Binging” is pronounced “bing-ing”. Without the “ing”, you would spell it “binge”, right? Sorry. Thank you for your attention to this matter. 🙄🤪🙄

Susanna J. Sturgis's avatar

Yes! Note that most of us get the difference between "singing" and "singeing," but some of us don't apply it to bing/e. If only "whinge" were more popular in the U.S. It's such a great word.

David Selditz's avatar

More lexicon like this from the UK. Don't get me started, they have some great adjectives and verbs. Wanker is my word for these cretins but I've many more.

michellefromchicago's avatar

Agreed re whinge, a truly excellent word

Elizabeth Schulz's avatar

I don't care: I pronounce both bingeing. :) (That 'thank you for your attention to this matter' is among THE stupidest things donnydemento does! WTF? Did he see it on a payment demand letter from his electrician or plumber, and thought it looked 'cool' after someone else had to 'splain it to him?)

CAM from 🇨🇦's avatar

Uncle Jeff, you’re in luck as binging and bingeing are both accepted spelling of the word according to Google Ngram Viewer : “However, around 1980, retaining the E became distinctly more popular than dropping it.”

celeste k.'s avatar

'binging' is what that orange moron does when he preaches to his idiot followers. "bing.....bing bing bing." etc.

I've been thinking about Joe Biden and all the stress he had to endure with all the BS "allegations" and "investigations" against Hunter and himself, and how that wore him down and weighed on his mind, affecting how he interacted with the media and world. He tried not to let it show how he was deeply offended and dealt with it by isolating instead of outwardly reacting (as introverts do). It just poured salt into his all-too-fresh wounds. Shameful! They say stress is a risk factor for cancer.

Elizabeth Schulz's avatar

Joe Biden IS still one of the most truly caring people we've ever had in OUR White House and Oval Office, quite unlike that selfish, self-centered prig staining them orange now. He showed up at Melissa Hortman's lying in State along with her husband after their assassinations, hugged and comforted their daughters and stood quietly praying, even genuflecting and crossing himself (as one does as a Catholic). NOTHING was heard for Melissa's family from the current occupant which is so beyond shameful. I love Joe Biden who is a true gentleman in every sense of the word. Class. It can't be bought.

Verbal_Blowtorch's avatar

Hey, I also read these aloud to my husband, every day! Usually I vary my vocal intensity to match what's written, raising my voice on things like "for fuck's sake!" or for all-caps rage tweet words. That's unless the cat's on my lap, in which case I have to use a pleasant, even-toned 'read a storybook to a child' voice throughout, or she'll leave.

cablecargal's avatar

I literally do the exact same thing! If Munchkin's on my lap, I have to tell my husband in a sing-song voice how horrible Drumpf is. Otherwise, I just scream, "That fucking asshole!"

Elizabeth Schulz's avatar

Me too! Except Percy the cat is hiding down the hallway from the crazy-ass dog who is right beside me (and beginning to freak out from the fireworks ramping up for July 4th here). Ugh. ANYway, I too read Jeff's words aloud for my husband and that specific line had me laughing TOO hard. I even 'do' frump's nasty grating OUT LOUD VOICE when he yells in all caps and then modulate 'back to Jeff' when it's time for him again. Hubby does get a kick out of it. He DID smile despite having a bad physical day yesterday when I showed him the video of sporky banging her gavel over and over and over and over ad infinitum. His first question to me this morning was 'Jamie who'? I said 'wait'. No, Jamie who? Raskin? No, wait - I'll get to that. 'Who else is Jamie, he persisted'. me: I'll GET TO IT! By then I was laughing so hard I was close to peeing. Ok, I know. TMI. I love knowing I'm not the only crazy cat (and dog) lady here!

The odor that emanates from broccoli and cauliflower while they're cooking is the most offensive smell in a kitchen. It is even worse than fish.

Walt Svirsky's avatar

The old stuff stinks, but freshly made smells good.

CAM from 🇨🇦's avatar

I think you are correct, Walt. I used to buy fresh from the farm when I wintered in Florida, and there was no offensive odor ever. Thank you for jogging my memory.

Patrick Daniels aka Cromulent1's avatar

Trumps stench is more like a sack of lab grown rotting meat Nina!!

Nina Simmonds's avatar

Sounds about right Patrick. 🤮

J.R.'s avatar

Just put vinegar & water in a pan and boil it while you cook.

DebJS's avatar

If it smells bad you've overcooked it or let it sit too long.

Dave Drell's avatar

Brussel sprouts stank the worst!

Susan Kemp's avatar

For one thing, you’re cooking them wrong. Lightly steamed or roasted cruciferous vegetables don’t smell skunky. Also there’s a gene that makes cruciferous vegetables taste bad just like there’s a gene that makes cilantro taste soapy. I’m glad I got neither of them.

CAM from 🇨🇦's avatar

Ironic that people tell me that I don’t know what I’m doing when I cook broccoli. In French cooking, we eat our veggies al dente meaning that they’re crunchy not soggy and overcooked. I simply do not care for the smell and and taste of broccoli or cauliflower - it’s pretty simple and it’s called a personal preference.

Maggie&Lefty's avatar

But it’s gotta have the cheese!

Walt Svirsky's avatar

No no no no no! A little butter, a little salt, voila!

Maggie&Lefty's avatar

Ok, cool, I can get behind that

Jodi Richard's avatar

Or at least dripping in butter.

Variety of cheese Maggie? I called them trees to my kids, they ate them cold, cooked, or dipped, as I’ve done since my grandma and I picked them in the garden long ago!!

For me, raw peeled stems only.

Maggie&Lefty's avatar

Madame, clearly you go too far. Have you no sense of decency? 🤣 😂. Ok, I’ll try it!

Maggie&Lefty's avatar

That’s all right, I like it plain as well 😉

I hate to say I told you so - fuck that, I love to say I told you so - but I did a simple calculation before the bombing took place and commented on Substack that the bomb would not penetrate to the required depth.

While it is extremely gratifying to learn that out military is not yet overrun by complete idiots, the administration's posturing is completely predictable given the Orange Turd's delusions regarding his ability to penetrate deeply, if you get my drift.

http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.ijimpeng.2017.03.018

Monnina's avatar

Thanks. I keep wondering what the point of this operation was. Is the money it cost worth it to test out the bunker buster bombs in a real time situation ? But then if that was the motive, haven’t the MAGA government just exposed their military capability to the enemy ? None of it makes sense to anyone outside of the MAGA MOB.

Denise Donaldson's avatar

If you consider that the entire operation was a sop to the orange blob after No Kings, the parade flop, and all the other screw-ups of the last couple months, the bombing makes perfect sense. Also, totally worth it to mango man.

longtimebirdwatcher's avatar

No matter how much it cost. Deficit? What deficit?

Walt Svirsky's avatar

Yep, we have the funding to build Alligator Alcatraz in the Everglades. We have money to drop million dollar bombs that do little damage. We have money to send 5000 National Guardsmen to LA to twiddle their thumbs and threaten citizens. We have money for squeaky tanks in a parade march.

We do not, however, have the outrageous sums required for SNAP benefits and Meals on Wheels. That would bankrupt the country!

Denise Donaldson's avatar

Because the Rethugs can always find ways to waste money on stupid gestures or putting it in their pockets. Helping the people of this country??? Not so much.

Stephen Schiff's avatar

You’re welcome! If testing was the goal, it could have been done much more productively in a controlled environment. We have plenty of information on the topic, and have long since recognized the intractability of attacking deeply buried targets with bombs. The following lay-person level article, published in 2003, is illustrative: https://doi.org/10.1063/1.1634531

If you are asking whether it makes sense, I cannot answer in any way aside from pointing out that NOTHING the current administration is doing makes any sense unless the goal is essentially the destruction of civilization.

And Israel gave him another big fat fuck you and continued bombing Iran regardless of trumps whiny congratulations to himself for wasting billions of our taxpayer money. Wherever you go in the world, trump is seen as a useless, ignorant, self absorbed psychopath with delusions of grandeur. A desperate narcissist trying to prove to himself how much of a genius he is.

DebJS's avatar

Not to mention how circumstances have changed drastically with unhinged, deranged, dishonorable Trump as US president, a man who rips up deals he (as well as prior presidents) previously made with no justification or regard for anyone else's interests. 2. I figured Jaime was some big strong man with tears in his eyes. It’s just the same old Fudd

3. Hungarians flipping off Orban was a nice morning wake up call

Teri Gelini's avatar

Gotta give it to the Hungarians! They may actually decide to get rid of Orban. Then Drumpf will need to find a new idol to go with his others.

Chris Hierholzer's avatar

It wouldn't surprise me if Hungary ends up executing Orban when you consider the size of that protest. They've about had enough of his shit.

Walt Svirsky's avatar

If Hungary can do it, why can’t the United States?

longtimebirdwatcher's avatar

Yes, this was a march/parade. Way bigger than anything I saw for No Kings. Reminded me of the anti-war marches in the Sixties from 1967 on (at least in SF.)

michellefromchicago's avatar

Despite the media undercounts, there were crowds at least that big in multiple American cities. A friend of mine attended the Chicago No Kings march, which had an official estimate of 15,000. My friend classified that estimate as "bullshit," and said that, based on what he saw, there had to have been at least 100,000 people there. The helicopter/drone views I saw bear that out.

longtimebirdwatcher's avatar

I didn't see any photos like the march in Hungary...

Anastasia Pantsios's avatar

I'm not in favor of executing anyone. However, I have a dream ... it involves handcuffs and an orange jumpsuit to match his facial makeup.

PlasticFish's avatar

"Torn limb from limb by an angry mob" is a thing. Just sayin'...

Susan Kemp's avatar

I think they did but the real winner of the election had to flee the country, fearing for her life, and the protests were put down.

Walt Svirsky's avatar

He is talking about Jaime Lannister! The fartknocker is watching Game of Thrones!

Jeff, all to give billionaires tax cuts🤮…..cuts in nursing homes to throw people into the streets, cuts to rural hospitals will cause them to close, charging more for power to run your home, cuts to SNAP, increased interest rates, homes under water, food prices and gas continue to creep up, federal government agencies told not to keep records and don’t take notes during meetings, ICE=Stasi with at least 1000 more to be hired under the BBB, the bunker busting bombs that were not dropped, going after folks in America that are not White such as Haitians, Afghans, Iraqis… I could cite more egregious instances but…. It’s full blown fascism with a self declared dictator at the helm. At 73 I have never been more disgusted… the reality is the GOP-MAGAS really don’t care about democracy.. we have shouted this for the last 10 years.. and Jeff… “thank you for your attention to these matters” 🤮

Susan Niemann's avatar

You've basically described how American life will be from now on... miserable. Unnecessary death, bankrupt just trying to pay the electric bill, constant tension and corruption. Republicans are going to kill us all...and what will they have left?

No one to lord over.

Fastball Fredo's avatar

I read a recent quote from Sean Penn.. he asserted that Donald wants to destroy the world. As Dr. Bandi Lee stated.. Donald is the contagion.. he is the cancer in the body politic and look at how it has metastasised.

Susan Niemann's avatar

The felon is doing a great job in destroying the world. He has uncovered the worst instincts in primitive, feeble thinking people.

Walt Svirsky's avatar

Climate change doesn’t give a shit about your political affiliation. It’s coming for all of us. Any pleasure the MAGATS derive from causing us pain will be short lived.

Schnauzermom's avatar

They will literally burn down their own houses and dance in the ashes if it means librul tears.

That’s gotta be a sickness, right?

Susan Niemann's avatar

You're so right. We will ALL suffer from MAGA's demonstrated evil.

Fastball Fredo's avatar

Our country is so very similar to Russia after the fall of the Soviet Union… Putin taking over giving the riches of his country to oligarchs (former members of the Party)… we got a repeat here.

Douglas Paul Truhlar's avatar

Apparently some thought they could fly do to leaving via the balcony 20 stories from earth.

Patrick Daniels aka Cromulent1's avatar

What then, when all the serfs are gone??? My question since the billionaire class, with a complicit SCOTUS waged war on America Susan!!

HI2thDoc's avatar

When us peons have gone extinct through lack of healthcare, food, vaccines, and violence, mere millionaires will clean the billionaire oligarchs’ toilets

Charles Austin's avatar

They get to inherit a pile of rubble.

longtimebirdwatcher's avatar

Um, solar, storage battery. (EVs)

HI2thDoc's avatar

So many 'Murikkkans still do not understand what you said, that all this fucking over of the poor by that shitty budget bill, is just to reverse Robin Hood for the benefit of these avaricious fucks, in addition to the rest: the lying, performative bullshit, empty posturing, the shredding of the Constitution. If I were you, I woulda taken my driver (or at least my 3 wood) to the heads of my idiot MAGA golf partners by now.

Denise Donaldson's avatar

Agree, Doc. In a local Next Door post today, some idiot resident was saying that the big ugly bill HAS TO pass, because if it doesn't pass, there will be a 68% tax increase on working people. No citation as to where that "fact" came from. I called it out as Faux Nooze propaganda, figuring that has to be the source.

Lynn Van Haren's avatar

Hopefully, when this is all over, we will hold a US version of the Nuremberg trials

michellefromchicago's avatar

My hubby and I were talking about this last week. But forget about a US version. When the glorious day comes when the fascists are no longer in power, Trump and various henchmen should be shipped off to The Hague to be tried for crimes against humanity: Stephen Miller, Kristi Noem, Pam Bondi, Marco Rubio.... This aggression will not stand, man. The Resistance abides!!

Fastball Fredo's avatar

I would rather see Donald and his SS tried and convicted in our country..maybe ship them out to Florida in the brand new Alligator Auschwitz.

Mary Lou Williams's avatar

How about starting a Go Fund Me - can it be a nonprofit to help those people being targeted by these disreputable traitors ? There's a guy on YouTube who is suggesting people in blue states have credit cards vs red states have credit cards since people in red states unfortunately support T while taking blue state money to cover the debt of their cult. We need to start thinking of ways to starve the budget without punishing the innocent. Boycotts anyone?

Rick A.'s avatar

Jamie Dimon??? We know this pervert lunatic is all about the money and nothing else and Chase Bank has a lot of it!

I will never ever understand how the entire country from media to “leaders,” whether political, financial, legal, educational, spiritual and religious and really almost everyone in this entire stupid, stupid country decided evil, cruelty, criminality, stupidity, ignorance and now dementia is normal if Trump says it or does it. WE ARE CERTIFIABLY INSANE in the good old USA, just in time for our 250th birthday—-if we make it that long with this crap……….There is not one grownup in the room in the entire Republican Party, not one.

Eileen's avatar

Thanks, Rick A. In the final analysis, Donny is a sick man. His disease keeps going and growing unblocked. Conversely, Trump’s enablers have no excuse. They chose to increase their billions and let the country die - eyes wide open.

Patrick Daniels aka Cromulent1's avatar

Dimon, was likely who Trump was actually referring to Rick, however, his drug addled dementia spin, found an off ramp!!

J.R.'s avatar

That is why we need Jeff!

I don’t think we’ll make it

SethTriggs's avatar

Comer? Wowwwww!

But these folks spend all their time playing in our faces claiming that the pricktator is strong and that people voted for him to get the cost of groceries down. Whatever excuse they can use as to why this gibbering fool with a toddler's vocabulary is inflicted upon us.

Never forget, it's because he outwardly hates the same minorities they do. And the unreconstructed enjoy the wide deference in the political and legal system that allows this pricktator to wild out. The pricktator and his pals can wild out because of the fact they serve the unreconstructed.

Remember: Student loan forgiveness under existing law = bad. And therefore crank Republican lawsuits against it are allowed to proceed and destroy the initiative. Similarly, student loan relief. Anything building our "seed corn" for the future.

Unconstitutional air strikes on sovereign nations? Staying on the ballot despite insurgency (14th Amendment)? Willy nilly random application of tariffs? 'Official immunity' for illegal acts? Bills of attainder against specific institutions? Flagrantly open graft and corruption?

It's all OK when you serve the unreconstructed!

Outdoorluvr's avatar

I don't think he hates them. I think he couldn't care less about anyone, unless they can flatter him or bribe him. I truly believe that all of this is Stephenevil Miller whispering in orange one's ear.

Joan Eisenstodt's avatar

I agree with @SethTriggs - the hate was shown by his father and prob his grandfather. His dad marched with the KKK; together they committed housing discrimination. It is hate - disdain. To not care would be to ignore. He _targets_.

Outdoorluvr's avatar

He has disdain for anyone who doesn't worship him, but that's not the same as hate. I honestly don't believe he has the emotional capacity to hate. He is a broken human being (debatable) who is entirely self-serving, and just doesn't care about others.

Joan Eisenstodt's avatar

Yes that too. Hate is complex, isn’t it? His disdain is on display when he ignores his youngest daughter at an event pushing right past her as he goes to kiss him. What you wrote, @Anastasia Pantsios: I’d not read Mary Trump’s book. I’m fascinated with how any of us take on or overcome traits developed or modeled in childhood. What you wrote @Outdoorluvr makes sense looking at so many actions over many years following NY publications. It is behavior at which I’m fascinated.

If he behaved as he did without so many who worship him and do all to please him I might understand. I just don’t.

Anastasia Pantsios's avatar

I read Mary Trump's book and it's clear Fred and Mary Ann Trump were despicable people who couldn't help raising damaged kids who never should've been in power over anyone else.

Outdoorluvr's avatar

Yes, and it appears as though trump's children have learned the same. That said, we all have it within us to change... and they chose not to. (I read the book, too. I also grew up with hate and prejudice, as well as other negatives known for messing up children's lives. I made other choices for myself. So maybe it's about the wealth and privilege, more than the neglect. Wealth is a great insulator, in that it protects from common issues that teach most of us empathy and compassion for others.)

Anastasia Pantsios's avatar

Fred Trump was a sociopath who taught his kids to be cruel. Sure, some people survive that but most are significantly damaged. They can work that out privately, but like I said, they should not have power over others.

P123Sunny's avatar

I think it’s more about button-pressing other people’s internalized ‘hate’… (aka resentment)

J.R.'s avatar

Yep. White Nationalism never died here. I feel I can say that as a white.

Ellen H's avatar

If everyone that follows Jeff can take 15 minutes today to call all the Republican Senators in this post, perhaps we can convince a few more to vote no on the big ugly bill.

With how much will I get Sen. Murkowski and flippity floppity Sen. Collins voting for this beautiful 930-page big pile of shit, you know someone got to them in the huddle. If their senatorial careers mean more than fucking over and destroying the lives of millions who need the help the most, they're as big of sellouts as the rest of these shameless GOP assholes.

Comer Fudd is covering for Dementia Don. The entire GOP portion of our Congress knows Donnie is demented. They know he’s an imbecile. It’s all about implementing their agenda and destroying America. They thrive on cruelty and corruption. Whites only. Christian nationalism. Destroy education. Enrich the wealthy. Screw the middle classes. No healthcare. If you can’t take care of yourself then just die. They are black hearted and evil.

HI2thDoc's avatar

Dear Leader and his group of fuckwits, led by the likes of Comer, embody waste, fraud, and abuse more than any "administration" in our history. Talk about wasting money, fraudulently telling us the Iranian nuclear program has been "obliterated,", and abusing the Constitution on all levels, including SCOTUS. Shit gotta be stopped.

arne link's avatar

Especially the Supreme Court. How dare they? They are so corrupt.

Mary Lou Williams's avatar

I had to laugh this am to learn John Roberts is telling us to quit punishing and threatening the court system.

Hi Don, where are you in Pennsultucky? I live in Central PA.

Don A in Pennsultucky's avatar

Smack dab in the middle. Surrounded by several places that claim to be the geographic center of the state. More descriptively, about 15 miles east of the University.

jcali129's avatar

I'm 3 miles northwest of the University.

longtimebirdwatcher's avatar

No, Centre County? My maternal grandfather grew up there (the Griest store). My mom was a Griest. Came to Philadelphia in 1690...

jcali129's avatar

I live in Centre County. For almost 20 years. Have not heard of Griest store. Very blue area near the University, surrounded by red maga Pennsyltucky as Don and others call it.

longtimebirdwatcher's avatar

I'll look it up in Wikipedia. They used to have a picture. Thanks!

jcali129's avatar

I looked online. I believe the store is in Unionville in their historic district. I'll look for it the next time I'm in that area.

longtimebirdwatcher's avatar

Thank you! I'll check my genealogy too. Actually, because he's dead (!), you might be able to look at WikiTree and see if I put his birthplace in there. He's Andrew Jackson Griest, born in 1894.... I'll look too, if I have time.
