It's hard to believe that people would vote for this monster, I have to think the voting is rigged, who in their right mind would vote for Greg Abbott, or Ted Cruz...🧐

Expand full comment

I've always said it's a 'team' thing. As long as it has an (R) beside its name on the ballot, a lifelong Republican team voter will vote for it. 20 years ago I was often saying that a Republican voter would vote for Mickey Mouse if there was an (R) beside his name. And of course they did - in 2016.

Expand full comment

That's an insult to Mickey...if not to his creator.

Democrats fall in love, REPUBLIFASCISTS fall in goose steps.

I remember that Mickey Mouse era!!

I think it is safe to say that MAGAts not in anything close to their right minds. Texass has managed to elect some of the worst slimeball politicians in the country… not to mention criminally mean.

That's just it: Many Texans are not in their right mind. I keep wondering if it's something I the water.(?)

Why do they keep voting these assholes into office!? Abbott is truly evil. I wouldn’t spit on Texas if it was on fire. JFC. Horrible

Same here. Florida is also on my shit list.

Expand full comment

Oh hell yes. I have an 88 year old Aunt still living in Texas and a cousin..I cant talk about it with them. I suspect they are MAGA but I dont even want to know. *shudder And Florida? YUK. No thanks. The STD capital of the world is evidently The Villages. I visited friends there and what a Stepford Wives experience THAT was. 🤦‍♀️ WHATS WRONG WITH PEOPLE!!??

Expand full comment

The Villages is a cult compound. Florida is well on it's way to the Third World.

Expand full comment

Sadly true, deathSantis our fascist gov is calling all magats to move here. The place is going downhill, yet getting more expensive. Evidently a bunch of them moved here during the pandemic, and have continued to do so . Ugh, like our asshole quotient wasn’t high enough before!

You have my sympathies. I live in Ohio, which is a gerrymandered state. We also have a high asshole quotient.

I would. I have friends who are stuck living in that state and are Democrats.

I literally just texted this to my Mom when I sent her this article. And added “and no one be allowed to help him out.”

What a truly evil, sadistic and sick fuck he is. And I’m a born here, lifelong Texan. I also live in Ted Cruz’s district.

What a lucky gal I am! Fuck me!! 🤢

Every election I think, this time we’re gonna do it; Cruz is gone…and every time, these assholes vote him back in. And for what? They can’t name one thing he’s done to make their lives better. Same with Abbott and Paxton. Whose names I can’t say without retching.

Hugs and my sympathies I live in Florida who breaks my heart every election since Obama’s.

I’m sorry. Florida used to be a pretty nice place to be until Desantis and Gaetz and Rubio to name a few. It’s like these creeps are just oozing out of the woodwork.

Expand full comment

Yes, deathSantis gerrymandered us so badly, he removed two majority black voting districts, and merged them with rural rednecksville.

Expand full comment

Sometimes the issue is voter suppression, making it more difficult for people to vote. Reducing ballot drop boxes, making it more difficult to register in the first place. In AZ you can now only drop off or mail ballots for people living in your household (perhaps also a relative). This negatively impacts many rural communities such as Native Americans. Also, although the federal government does not require an approved ID (does not include a student ID) and last four digits of social security number to register to vote, the state legislature passed a law, approved by GOP governor, that residents need to provide this info to vote for state-wide and local offices.

I can't figure out why foreign allies don't trust us.

Expand full comment

And would trust us even less if felonious fuckface were to be reelected. Not only would more of our freedoms be erased but the negatively would be felt globally. The thought of Trump and Netanyahu collaborating on a solution for Gaza and then with Putin and Ukraine spells an epic shitstorm that might not ever be reversed.

Expand full comment

You have to wonder whether Abbott is so pissed off at the world because of the terrible accident that befell him and he is seeking some personal vendetta against those who wish to find a better life in America. He is a small-minded man who might be around for many more years given there are no gubernatorial term limits in Texas.

Expand full comment

I believe that! He’s trying to make others as miserable as possible because of his own disabilities! His sadistic behavior is a direct consequence of his own losses!

Have you ever watched the movie Annabelle? When the girl that had polio was outside in her wheelchair and something pushed her into the barn and dumped her onto the floor? Greg Abbott likes to go to the Rio Grande. Maybe he needs a closer look. 🤷‍♀️

Expand full comment

Oh, and do you know how he got his start at being rich? He sued the people who put him in the wheelchair.

Then when he became governor, he capped the amount with which juries can award victims monetarily for malpractice, etc.

I read an article on it in one of the Texas magazines a long time ago. A lady who was misdiagnosed with cancer, went thru chemo, radiation etc, then was told she never had cancer to begin with.

But her body was so messed up from the chemo and radiation and drugs, that she now had to take meds for all kinds of issues. She was very sick.

She sued and the jury awarded her enough to pay her medical bills, pay for her current meds and treatment and live comfortably. But thanks to Abbott, she the award was reduced down to where she didn’t have enough to pay off the medical bills for the cancer she never even had. She was righteously upset.

I wish I had saved that article so I could quote it by name, for proof. If anyone else has read it and remembers, please let me know so I can credit them.

I may misremembering some of the details about her diagnosis or whatnot, but I do remember the basics of her being misdiagnosed with cancer and the treatment making her sick etc.

Expand full comment

This is an article about how he won his money and how he worked to cap it for everyone else. He claimed anyone would have the same rights as he did to sue if they got hurt, but they’d never receive what he did, which was $5.8 million at the time of this article in 2013, with payment to continue until he dies.

No one else would ever be able to recoup costs like that no matter what was done to them. At least as I remember from the article I read before. This isn’t it. Wish I could find it.

Why does it take so damn long for us to realize that there are monsters among us? Are we all so self consumed and or distracted by the traveling circus across the globe that we are blind to the devastation that may soon smack us all in our little worlds?

The monsters have morphed into raging giants, giddy with power and weapons. Armed with minions that will scurry to help make nightmares come true.

Perhaps stripping the corporate goblins in this nation of their unlimited power and wealth would be a start? Feeling so fucking tired of the nonsense.

Expand full comment

I'm with you Deb. I guess you have to look at Jim Jones and other cults to understand the people they brainwash.

Expand full comment

The monsters have had too much of a free ride. There may be a way to hurt them. Finally. I just watched "Scoop" on Netflix about the Prince Andrew scandal born of his friendship with pimp and pedophile, Jeffrey Epstein.

Yesterday, Trump raised 50M thanks to Palm Beach, Florida billionaire John Paulson hosting an event there.

A thought: The press needs to take advantage of the timing and triangulate 1) the ick-factor revealed in the Netflix's "Scoop" dramatization about the Epstein's vile crimes and cover-up 2) the upcoming NY criminal trial of Trump's porn star sex cover up to interfere with the 2016 presidential election and 3) Trump's on Ghislaine Maxwell's list of Epstein's clients. Given #3, journalists need to "Scoop" deeper on Trump's possible sex with underage girls. One came forward then retreated for fear for her life.

https://www.courthousenews.com/rape-allegations-refiled-against-trump/

In summary, tell the John Paulson party goers that supporting Trump is no different than supporting Epstein. And like Prince Andrew, that proximity is enough to destroy their reputations. Questions like, "How could you continue supporting Trump if you knew he was on Epstein's list and there were innocent girls coming forward implicating Trump?"

You can shrug off a lot, but pedophile rapist is a great way to make the big donors run for the hills. Hopefully, the media has it in them to find that story, link the other stories in the news and finally find the shame, the rock bottom - that thing that makes the devil himself too toxic to touch.

WTF is going on?

How is Greg Abbott not being charged with violating U.S. Code Section 3056(d) of Title 18?

Didn’t SCOTUS already (justly) rule in favor of the Federal Government?

How is Abbott not being charged with murder?

How is Abbott not being charged with Crimes Against Humanity?

Shouldn’t the DOJ be on top of this and making certain the Federal Laws are enforced on this “governor?”

Enough is enough DOJ!!! Get on the ball AG Merrick Garland! Learn from your mistakes!!!! Look at the justice our country’s being deprived of because of your delay in appointing Special Counsel to investigate Trump!!!

Don’t make the same error twice to avoid potential accusations by Republicans that the government has been weaponized!!!
