"Ex-Trump adviser John Bolton pleads guilty to mishandling classified documents"

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/czxqwg4nrvlo

John Bolton fucking sucks, but he got a raw deal.

Wendy The Druid πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸŒˆ's avatar

Look Jeff. Ted Leiu called Trump out as Terminally Ill. Like he is being treated for Terminal Illness. And the even more delicious part is that apparently the Rep has receipts.

https://thistleandmoss.com/p/what-survives-the-morning-trump-is-terminally-ill-rep-ted-leiu-can-prove-it

If Ole Ted and prove it, then I wanna watch.

Lieu's point was sharper than a punchline: a senior clinician at NIH reportedly used the FDA's compassionate use pathway β€” the door you open for someone with a terminal illness β€” to request an unapproved obesity drug, retatrutide, for an unnamed 79-year-old. The president is 79.

Stakes:

The mechanism: Compassionate use exists so the dying can try what isn't yet approved. Invoking it raises a question the public has every right to ask.

The timeline: From "perfect health" memos to canceled signing ceremonies, the official story has thinned to tissue paper β€” and yesterday's cancellation was reportedly leverage to ram through the SAVE Act, a bill that could disenfranchise thousands of trans voters and married women.

And the response? Not a doctor's letter. Not a page of bloodwork. A communications director typing "b**ch" into an official statement like a man losing an argument with his own reflection. Truly the wit of a damp gas station hot dog. They had every tool of the modern state and reached for the one in the sandbox.

HI2thDoc's avatar

Any news that a certain newly turned 80-year-old is dying would be met with responses of "not quickly enough."

Joyce's avatar

And, "is it contagious and can Stephen Nosferatu and JustaDick Vance catch it NOW?"

HI2thDoc's avatar

Don't forget Kegsbreath, Krazy Eyes Kash, dullin' Mullins, Homan the Toeman, Howie Nutlick, Soybean Scott, stuffy Duffy, Keebler Kevin Hassett, of course Russ Don't Let Them Vought, definitely Todd "What Epstein Ranch?" Blanche

Melania has been saying this for years!

Stephen Brady's avatar

The terminal diagnosis would be Pulmonary Hypertension which is worsened by his obesity and a diet which should have been lethal before now. Explains his cankles and rapid deterioration.

T L Mills's avatar

Pulmonary hypertension is ultimately terminal, but with new protocols and care, doctors can extend life up to ten years beyond what the life expectancy was a few years ago. I almost cried when I read that.

DrBDH's avatar

Maybe that decade was 2016-2026

T L Mills's avatar

We can hope and keep our fingers crossed!!!

Trux Mint In Box's avatar

But not with Trumps habits and he’s not gonna change.

George in Atlanta's avatar

The operant word here is 'can'. Let us say that the co-morbidities are lined up like sandwich fans in a New York deli. One customer at a time, take a damn number.

Cheri Collins's avatar

In his case only - Nooooooo!

rlritt's avatar

Wouldn't matter. They will just stuff him and prop him up. Play recordings of the nonsense that comes out of his mouth. Who would see any difference?

KP Johnson Austin, TX's avatar

Pass the word: Keep his stress levels HIGH at every turn!

AuntTeeFa's avatar

Interesting story about the unknown 79 year-old and retatrutide.

I’ve read that it’s not advised for patients with heart disease.

Maybe it could put him out of our misery?

Joyce's avatar

MS-NOW had a whole segment a couple of days ago about this gifting of an as-yet-unapproved drug to a single 79-year-old male patient--after there was string-pulling and pressure from the administration......The discussion panel leaned toward the hypothesis that the patient was Donnie Demento.

KP Johnson Austin, TX's avatar

He must be taking the smart pills already because he's aced that very challenging "intelligence" test a few times now.

HI2thDoc's avatar

JFC, if the FDA can do that, wouldn't it be easier, not to mention much better for the world, just to give that decrepit loser some smart pills?

Crystal Hartley's avatar

How do we know they didn't try that first? I suspect that the barriers to smart pill effectiveness were too strong.

rlritt's avatar

Well its still unapproved, so there may be dangerous side effects.

Joe Witkowski's avatar

Might that be a typo for *RETARDED-tude*?

devourerofpancakes's avatar

Maybe this is a sign that Trump currently has an incurable disease or maybe it's just Trump's doctors lying because someone told Trump about retatrutide and now he wants it and nobody ever says no to Trump.

Jeanne Leduc's avatar

Most likely scenario.

arne link's avatar

The thing is, it's an obesity drug. Is he that desperate to lose weight? Why not us GLP1 drugs that are widely available. Anyway, I DO hope that karma will soon work it's magic. C'mon little clot, you can do it! Go, Go, Go!

AuntTeeFa's avatar

arne writes the forward for new big kids book

The Little Clot Who Could

Kim Steeves's avatar

I know, I'm cheering for the clot!!! Go little fella, Go!

Stephen Brady's avatar

As much as Donnie talks about 'the fat shots' I think he has already failed one or more. Retatrutide also gets the glp-1 receptor, but also hits 2 more receptors involved in the appetite and weight loss cycle.

Denise Donaldson's avatar

Read that Wegovy hasn't worked for him. But then, Wegovy doesn't make you NOT like Big Macs, according to my brother, who takes it.

Cathy Wray's avatar

Arne, yes, go go go!!

Tonya Browning's avatar

The doctor’s could be prescribing it to him β€œoff label”. They do that all the time. I’ve been on a couple of different antidepressants because it was discovered that it was a great pain reliever for people who have nerve pain. The GLP1 drugs are drugs to help diabetics, not for weight loss; therefore, it’s been used off label as a weight loss drug which doesn’t seem to be working for Mr. POOS!

Lynn Van Haren's avatar

I would love Ted Lieu to be President. One of the smartest, mot prepared members of Congress

Mary Greenwald's avatar

Not in my life-time. He is smart and tenacious. Buttigieg is smart and competent. But the Trump voters (Republicans and those who don't like "others") will put another Trump in office before competence and intelligence.

Lori's avatar

Probably. And the dolts who don't want to admit they are bigots will say they were "voting for conservative policies" not the horrid candidate attached to them.

Robert Eckert's avatar

The Trump voters are not as large a bloc as they were only recently.

Denise Donaldson's avatar

Don't get me wrong: the idea of a Fuckwit terminal illness makes my day. But I personally think Lieu is jumping the gun here. Rump could warp "compassionate use" into anything he decides it means. As in, "I want it, so hand it over." Also, the drug he's suspected to have gotten is billed as a weight loss medication.

I'm not saying that Rump doesn't have a terminal illness; he very well might. I simply think Lieu's "proof" is a real stretch.

Tonya Browning's avatar

I pointed this out yesterday!! I want to know what’s going on.

Patricia Williamson's avatar

Isn't retatrutide a weight loss drug? Would it be used for a terminal illness? Inquiring minds want to know.

Troll Slayer's avatar

And yet Shitler can fill the bathroom of his roach infested golf motel with top secret documents and skip away unscathed. Go figure

Joan Eisenstodt's avatar

Thought the same. Bolton may be low on β€œmost admired” list - except he admitted it. Just because there was evidence he coulda claimed something.

Kay-El's avatar

From 18 to 1 is better odds that he won’t face actual prison time. I’m not sure if I care though. Yeah, Bolton is a critic now, but he was still part of the shit brigade in Trump 1.0

devourerofpancakes's avatar

It's still wrong for the DOJ to go after someone just for being critical of Trump. I want Bolton to pay for his real crimes.

Robert Eckert's avatar

It was under Biden that the DoJ started looking into it. They seem to have considered his technical violations to be not worth the time, but of course the Trump DoJ revived the case. Bolton does in fact appear to be guilty as charged.

Dave Drell's avatar

And I want DRUMPF & his cronies to pay for their real crimes!

Douglas Paul Truhlar's avatar

It pains me to say that Bolton is way more educated on Iran than anybody else in the cabal. He had to go so they went digging and nailed him. He’s a puke on a regular basis though.

Leu2500's avatar

critical in his book

Kay-El's avatar

Exactly. Where was he prior? Doing Trump’s bidding πŸ™„

SethTriggs's avatar

Ugh...well we know it's okay for the moldering fool to spirit them away to his bathroom.

Sharon Hudnall's avatar

Whatever Bolton absconded with to write his boring book (his own notes from meetings) pales in comparison to the numerous boxes of highly classified docs paraded out of the WH by Trump and stashed in his crapper. That massively intentional security violation was shot over the horizon by a loose Cannon. Jack Smith must be sadly shaking his head, again.

DebJS's avatar

Probably the only thing keeping them from likewise prosecuting Joe Biden is the presidential immunity ruling (and to avoid challenging whether it's retroactive).

Hey, Katie Phang is also a lawyer! She knows what she's doing.

Or, in the words of Michael Fanone:

TCinDC's avatar

James Comey sucks, too (he eighty-sixed Hillary), and same thing. Over sea shells.

AbigailJ's avatar

Can Comey's trashing of HRC ever be forgotten . . . or forgiven? He rang the deceased-bell and ended her candidacy just days before the election. He was a prime player in T's election to office. The sea shell debacle is stupid as F, but his attack on HRC forever negates any forgiveness. He knows.

devourerofpancakes's avatar

Do not make me defend John Bolton, oh my god i hate this administration!

Kate's avatar

And too bad he didn’t have a fangirl judge in his back pocket to bury the case

Sue Munda's avatar

Well, we’re officially a nazi country.

rlritt's avatar

So why can't Trump be convicted of mishandling secret documents? Now that I am older I realize what a bunch of morons we keep electing. Its as if the country is being run by the Three Stooges only they are neither funny nor entertaining.

Crystal Hartley's avatar

JD might as well have said, "hah! When it comes to crimin' our administration makes Nixon's administration look like bunch of amateurs!"

rlritt's avatar

The thing I learned after getting into a top notch grad school is that once you are there you realize that a large percentage of students are there because of rich parents, especially if their parents were allumi. A big donation to the school doesnt hurt. And the course work, at least in non science or medical disciplines are not quite as rigorous as you would think. Look at Robert F. Kennedy Jr. He has advanced degrees from a variety of high profile Universities. And without question the guy is as dumb as a box of rocks. And then there is Trump. I read that he was able to make multi million dollar real estate deals due to his rich and well known father, and failed at everything, but got bailed everytime.

β€œThe sultan of Snooze”

ahhhh yes, another good one by Dynamite Doc!

Anastasia Pantsios's avatar

The trouble with both Vance and Rubio is that they fail to possess that powerful he-man qualities MAGAs imagine they see in Trump.

Daniel M Kimmel's avatar

The trouble with Rubio is that he sold his soul for power. It's as if he doesn't believe in anything any more. As for Vance, he never had a personality to begin with -- he's not quite as expressive as Chance the Gardener.

Sharon Hudnall's avatar

Vance will be stamped forever by that video showing him too indecisive to select a doughnut ("Whatever make sense" was his response). Plus, the eyeliner won't play in Podunk.

MAGATs weren't the only ones to get Trump re-elected. It was also the hundreds of thousands of Dems and Undecideds who couldn't stop fucking their own couches long enough to vote for Kamala.

Susan Niemann's avatar

Whatever makes sense....πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I will never forget that!

DebJS's avatar

Not to mention his "brown" wife and soon-to-be 4 half-brown kids.

Daniel M Kimmel's avatar

OTOH, MAGAts accept Trump's THIRD wife, a softcore porn model who entered the US on an illegal visa.

rlritt's avatar

I figured he'd have dumped his current wife and gotten ready to marry the late Charlie Kirk's widow. She has it all, blonde and fascist with the right name.

Anastasia Pantsios's avatar

This is a the weakest field of candidates I've ever seen from a political party. It's so weak that when the Washington Post did its recent "presidential contenders for 2028", the Republicans had only two frontrunners and the "second tier" was a joke. They have no "second tier."

rlritt's avatar

Vance truly is as disagreeable as gum on your shoe.

If I was a duck's avatar

And when the bar is already set so low widdle Marco won't even trip over it in his grifted Trumpshoes, that's either not saying much, or telling us a whole lot.

Lori's avatar

Even though the whole roster is a $%!tshow, Rubio is the one I am most disappointed in. He knows how the government and its funding are supposed to function and once upon a time had the moral sense to support that most of the time. No more. That is the real TDS.

Daniel M Kimmel's avatar

I see Rubio now and he looks dead inside. Deep down he knows he's sold out.

steve robertshaw's avatar

(respond to "and the MAGA alternative, Marco Rubio, is nearly as bad") - I think I see Don Jr. coming up fast on the outside stretch! Quite the horserace.

rlritt's avatar

Trump desperately wants Don Jr. to inherit his title. And Republican politicians are so whipped they'll go for it.

Robert Eckert's avatar

The second Nixon administration is a mysterious, 18-and-a-half month gap in our memory.

Mary Greenwald's avatar

Not mine. August Ninth is circled every year in my newest Calendar. I watch "All the President's Men" just to hear the typewriter at the end punching out the names and prison sentences of the Nixon Elite.

Susan Niemann's avatar

Tremendous movie. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

DebJS's avatar

I think I will watch that movie this weekend. And to Shady -- who I just saw on OPB comparing himself to Richard Nixon ("senator, VP, ...") -- "You're no Dick Nixon" and don't flatter yourself! Are we in the Twilight Zone???

Susan Kemp's avatar

I see what you did there.

MargaretT's avatar

I remember Watergate also, and how upset most people, including a few members of Nixon's administration, were regarding his illegal activity. If Ford hadn't pardoned Nixon, I wonder now if our sense of honor would be higher, though we've sunk so low now, so maybe not...

Daniel M Kimmel's avatar

Ford's mistake was not pardoning Nixon. It was not simultaneously pardoning all the Vietnam draft resisters. He could have sold it as healing two of the country's most divisive wounds. Instead he gave Nixon a pass but told the draft resisters they could "earn" their way back.

Denise Donaldson's avatar

IMO, there's a through-line from Nixon to Rump.

rlritt's avatar

Its when the Republican Party died. Since then its been like the walking dead.....stinking and evil.

Joe Witkowski's avatar

Gerald Ford, like Florida-resident-running-for-Alabama-Governor Tommy Tub-of-Shit, played way too much tackle football without a fucking helmet.⛑️

Douglas Paul Truhlar's avatar

I thought that was a helmet on his neck, easy mistake.

Daniel M Kimmel's avatar

Ford was a decent man regardless of what one thought of his politics. Tuberville is one of the dumbest politicians currently in office, and that's saying a lot.

rlritt's avatar

I hope you're right. Sadly, if the uber wealthy want him, Im afraid thats all he needs to make it into the top slot. We live in a very fucked up time line. Our descendents will be justified in condemning us.

Neal Stiffelman's avatar

I can’t tell if it’s stupidity, ignorance, or a total lack of self-awareness and seriousness, butβ€”like you and I imagine most of us feelβ€”the idea is to just roll the dice, hoping (like Alito and Thomas obviously believe) that they are so entrenched in power that they can serve up shit sandwiches and no one will be able to do anything about it.

I’m hoping they’re mistaken.

CA Productions/Carol Ann's avatar

At some point the Supremes should be investigated for collusion and charged with a crime if it warrants.

Stephen Brady's avatar

They will just declare that they are possessed of some kind of innate immunity which they reached into Alito’s ass and pulled out.

Sharon Hudnall's avatar

This would required a Nuremberg type court comprised of legal reps from other countries.

Susan Jane's avatar

Can we dare to dream?

CA Productions/Carol Ann's avatar

I believe the International Court is watching very closely. Everybody around the world are shaking their collective heads in unison on all of this.

Joe Witkowski's avatar

Susan Kemp's avatar

Maybe, I think it’s possible the shredders are humming even as we speculate. Ever since the Epstein inquiry in congress started, I’ve heard pundits saying that they thought trump knew what was going on, but didn’t think he had participated. Even without the E Jean Carol verdict, he had so many accusers plus the Howard Stern confession and Access Hollywood tape. I always thought he was a slimy creep, even back in his NY tabloid days, and wouldn’t put anything past him. There are no depths to his depravity.

CA Productions/Carol Ann's avatar

…..And there is no depth to America Stupidity. It’s a special kind of DUMB!

Dave Drell's avatar

On target, CA, you tell the truth! It’s media controlled dumbness.

Diana Hembree's avatar

Trump definitely participated, and also organized parties of his own featuring older rich men and teenage girls, according to New York publications and eyewitnesses. One witness was Epstein's handler of a 13-year-old girl who charged that Trump raped the young teen in a bedroom at Epstein's mansion; she and the 13-year-old both gave their testimony in a lawsuit later dropped due to death threats. You can read her testimony in Katie Mann's Substack, which I link to in this article: https://mindsitenews.org/2025/08/15/among-women-anxiety-over-trump-is-turning-to-rage/

CA Productions/Carol Ann's avatar

Thank you for the link.....I can tell you from my days when Trump was out and about and I would see him at a couple of private clubs, people turned away. He was and always will be persona non grata. Trump was always a sleaszy type, really nobody wanted to be bothered unless there was money to be made, but he thought he was cool with the ladies

Michelle Kenoyer's avatar

I really hate to be a grammar scold, but one of my pet peeves is when people use "penultimate" when they really mean something like "consummate." The word "penultimate" is a fancy-schmancy way of saying "second-to-last," but "consummate" means, to put it in Trumpian terminology, the most bigliest thing of all things ever. With tears in its eyes, of course. ;)

Jennifer Dyke's avatar

The absolute audacity and stupidity of J.D. "Dick with Ears" Vance basically saying Nixon didn't really do anything worth even a 10 hour news cycle (let alone be impeached) just galls me to the core. Every time any of these Trump regime freaks open their mouths, nothing but shit flows out! That asshole isn't anywhere near old enough to have a real opinion on that whole mess, regardless. What history book is he reading to come up with his idiotic analysis?! What a ginormous twink!

CA Productions/Carol Ann's avatar

Compared to Trumps daily crime spree, what Nixon did was nothing!

devourerofpancakes's avatar

For real. Try being a history teacher leading high schoolers through watergate today.

CA Productions/Carol Ann's avatar

It must be impossible. Some of the kids must view him as some kind of super hero who never gets caught or goes to jail for all his Crimes. I think it why a certain amount of White Males view him that way.

devourerofpancakes's avatar

My kiddo just laughed at Nixon's crimes* because they pale compared to Trump's open grift and fraud.

*I doubt they are taught in quite the full glory they deserve. There is only so much time.

Cathy Wray's avatar

I would really hate trying to teach history to MAGA styludents. They're probably like their nasty parents.

Robert Eckert's avatar

There are cases which utterly consume a nation's attention for years, and then get brief attention or none in the history books because they are too complicated to explain: Watergate is in that category like the Diamond Necklace Affair and Dreyfus Case from France, or the Tichbourne Claimant from Britain.

Denise Donaldson's avatar

But the Nixon criming might as well have been in a different universe. It's apples and oranges.

CA Productions/Carol Ann's avatar

Totally. This lying grifting bastard is openly stealing, lying, and doing whatever the fuck he want out in the open.

rlritt's avatar

And yet the Republican marketing team has managed to label Repubiblican voters as Values Voters. What a joke.

DebJS's avatar

Likely just something he said to trump to get in his good graces so he could be his VP.

When everyone remembers that Jizzy Divan is a rented propagandist who simps for billionaires, all of this makes sense.

RenΓ©e Appell's avatar

But how are his book sales going? Does anyone know? Or give two squirts of piss?

HI2thDoc's avatar

Kyle Kulinski on his YouTube explained it. When O'Reilly or Don Jr or any right-wing BS factory puts a book out, a conservative think tank or the RNC will buy up a buncha those shitty books and then give 'em away to the cult zombies. The author then gets to crow about "writing" a NYT best seller. The gullible rubes get a freebie, the author gets to brag. Win-win, but a loss for truth and ethics. This from the WaPo published on April 16, 2021: "The GOP's big bulk book-buying machine is boosting Republicans on the bestseller lists"

Paula Dean's avatar

Word! Every single positive response to the works of these soulless, talentless, grandiose liars who sell pure fiction in the guise of autobiographies, or other 'behind the scenes' accounts, is either paid advertising - which they claim is a critical review - or, like the movie 'Melania', shows sales that are really only mass purchases - usually made by those organizations who need a favor...or many favors(looking at YOU, Bezos). Nothing is ever genuine with these slimy worms.

I have, however, heard great things about the new 'Regime Change' by NYT reporters. I am going to buy the kindle version shortly.

HH Mohr's avatar

I'm glad you explained the bulk book-buying. I was recently in a second-hand store and came upon an entire section of Republican books. I was baffled. Now it makes sense -- nobody wanted them.

HI2thDoc's avatar

I learned it from Kyle Kulinski’s YouTube channel. He is very informative

Joe Witkowski's avatar

I wouldn’t even tear out to pages of a free Vance book to wipe my ass after Mexican food

HI2thDoc's avatar

Haha, a more graphic version of I wouldn’t piss on him if he was on fire

Reviews were so bad that Amazon and Goodreads shut down the reviews feature on their sites for the book. It was most likely trolls, and Amazon said it was going to set it up so that only actual purchasers could write reviews. I don't think that's going to help much. I don't think the sales figures are very good, and the few professional critics I've read have said it's terrible.

The MAGA Catholic supreme suck-up Bishop Robert Barron just posted his review on Facebook. πŸ™„ πŸ™„ πŸ™„

I didn’t know he had a book. Another β€œHillbilly Elegy”? This one entitled β€œcouchfucker goes to Washington”.

His latest Opus Horribleus is how his conversion to Catholicism makes him a better, smarter Christian than Da Pope.

arne link's avatar

I pray that God will smite him for insulting the pope.

HI2thDoc's avatar

If there is another printing of Elegy, the new subtitle will be "One Man's Incredible Journey From Second Hand Sofas to Brand New Living Room Furniture."

SethTriggs's avatar

β€œHe Got Off (on) The Couch.”

"Slutty Sofa"

"Easy Easy Chair"

"Loose-morals Cushions"

"Randy Recliner".....this is fun!

That was β€œJizzy”, autocorrect. Get it right.

Paula Dean's avatar

I thought you meant "Hussy"!

Katie Phang is also a lawyer.

Vee Cross's avatar

Not only has Katie Phang put in the work, she put fears of personal safety aside in the name of democracy. I know many of us struggle with wanting to do the right thing but hold back for fear of how far this regime is willing to go to silence us. Literal murder is on the table, so the idea that people will go all out, like you Jeff, and lay it on the table every day of the week, is a Godsend. Thank you for your dedication and putting in the work as well. Even while deeply grieving you take the time and effort to remind everyone every contribution matters. Now that I've written all of this, I would nominate you for sainthood, but my own research on the janky six-fingered bot informed me Jews don't have saints. So I vote we nominate you for your own Pulitzer instead.

Demonstrate! Yes, we can. Use the anger! Make signs that read from afar. My current ones have voting information. I give them away to young people and make new ones again. I’ve had to overcome my own fears and inertia to get out there and do it. The worst that has happened is drive-by rude comments and the finger from a window.

After ICE committed murder, I went to Denver and joined in the protest, even though I was tired and under the weather. My new sign in blood red said ICE KILLS. A woman came up to me and she was crying. She said she was doing some work in Denver but lived in Minneapolis. She said, β€œThank you for doing this. We feel so alone there.” We hugged each other and it made MY day. All the demonstrations that week made a difference.

We used to get those big truck burn outs. Not now. I guess gas is too ecpensive.

HH Mohr's avatar

You're right, they're not doing it so much now. I never knew what it was called. Big truck and a small brain.

Outdoorluvr's avatar

They call it, "rolling coal" here in Texas. At least I think that's what you all are referring to - smoke and stink from the diesel burn.

HH Mohr's avatar

That's it. What part of Texas?

Outdoorluvr's avatar

Houston suburbs now, but rural east Texas for 20+ years prior. (And looking to get out!)

Denise Donaldson's avatar

Likely small other parts, as well.

DebJS's avatar

Just yesterday there was this huge oversized pickup truck hogging space in my office parking lot making backing out of my space extra-difficult, and I thought "the bigger the truck, the smaller the...."

Denise Donaldson's avatar

Exactly! Years ago, my friend's boyfriend came into a little money, and the first thing he bought was a big pick-up and a kit to jack it up high off the ground. I called the rig his penis extender, and he heard me. He was not amused. Turned out he actually was incapable of performing, as my friend confided to me. Tee hee!

HH Mohr's avatar

Let's be kind now. Thanks for the responses to the obvious. ;-)

Just in case Vance is preparing groundwork for the unthinkable. Former VP, Gerald Ford, paid a steep price for pardoning Nixon, he lost the follow-on election - let that sink in JD.
