remember when Trump started channeling Hitler, blathering on about how immigrants were “vermin poisoning our blood of our country”? it was a one-day story, and then the press found some other shiny object to fixate on. Trump is still Hitlering at the top of his lungs. ‘vermin poisoning our blood’ is still part of his stump speech. but the press? they’ve moved on. nothing to see here.

remember Project 2025, the Republican plan to end democracy in America and replace it with Trump Rule Forever? it’s totally scary shit, but it’s pretty much only gotten one article in the Washington Post. the rest of the mainstream media hasn’t bothered to take notice.

contrast that with what’s going on with the press right now: we’re now in Day 4 of the great freak-out over jOe BiDeN’s AgE.

what legitimately should have been a one-day story — “Joe Biden exonerated in classified documents investigation” — has now grown into a feeding frenzy, all because some rogue MAGA counsel worked himself into a big mad when he couldn’t find anything to charge Sleepy Brandon with, and decided to use his report to make gratuitous and unprofessional judgements about Biden’s acuity.

oh my god, does our lazy press love to have a narrative dropped right the fuck into its lap. so much easier than reporting!

last October, as General Mark Milley was preparing to step down as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, he was interviewed by 60 Minutes — and of course he was asked the inevitable question about jOe BiDeN’s AgE.

“I meet frequently with the president, and every single time I meet with him, he is just fine. how people interpret that is up to them, but I engage with him frequently and he is alert, sound, does his homework, reads the papers, reads all the read-ahead material, and he’s very engaged in issues of very serious matters of war and peace and life and death. so if the American people are worried about an individual who is someone making decisions of war and peace, making decisions about nuclear weapons and that sort of thing, I think they can rest easy.”

gee, who to believe? a MAGA meathead with a political axe to grind, or the former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff?

meanwhile, Former Fuck is given free pass after free pass by a national media that can barely be roused from its slumbers as Trump mangles syntax, forgets where he is, loses his train of thought, confuses times and dates and places and people and events, and basically spouts a fact-free stream of semi-consciousness divorced from any semblance of reality.

Rick Wilson summed up “Biden vs Trump” best: “both of them are old, one of them is evil.”

need more proof? last night, this happened:

“they asked me that question. one of the presidents of a big country stood up and said ‘well sir, if we don’t pay and we’re attacked by Russia, will you protect us?’ I said ‘you didn’t pay? you’re delinquent?’ he said ‘yes, let’s say that happened.’ no, I would not protect you. in fact, I would encourage them to do whatever the hell they want. you gotta pay.”

as with all noises that fall out of Shitty Hitler’s ignorant face, this statement is a big bowl of what even the fuck.

first of all, it’s a “sir” story — it starts off with someone calling Donny ‘sir,’ which is a big clue that it never happened.

second, this obsession with NATO countries “not paying their bills” is based on a complete fiction. Trump made it up. there are no bills. the US does not bill other countries for protection.

The U.S. has not been stiffed for unpaid bills by NATO allies.

“There is no ledger that maintains accounts of what countries pay and owe,” says former Obama administration National Security Council staffer Aaron O’Connell. “NATO is not like a club with annual membership fees.”

so what the fuck is he gibbering about?

this asshole sounds like a cheap mob boss shaking down the owner of a candy store. “nice country you’ve got here. be a real shame if something were to happen to it.”

thirdly, and most importantly, here’s Trump coming right out and saying that he would “encourage” Russia to attack a NATO country — to “do whatever the hell they want.”

what. the. fuck.
