Republicans’ long held paranoia that the government is out to get them leads them to vote for people they don’t think are smart enough to screw them over. These dimwits are the result of that paranoia.
These "representatives" are only obstructing legislation, while their brethren who comprise the SCOTUS majority are busy overturning bipartisan Congressional laws and replacing them with legislation that would have no chance to ever become law through the democratic process. Moreover, the SOTUS majority's law are violative and are violative of our Constitution.
For example, the current SOTUS overruled Roe, so that women and families had more reproductive rights while the Constitution was being written than they do in Red States today?
To achieve this result the "historians" on the Court refer to periods of time that our Founders expressly found repulsive and sought to ensure aren't repeated by making freedom of religion from State interference unconstitutional. They also prevented, with the 4th Amendment, a right that would forbid the government from incentivizing the harassment and spying by citizens on other citizens illegally. The Texas abortion law violates both of these amendments, as well as the 13th and 14th amendment. Reversing fundamental rights is tyranny not freedom, liberty, or democracy. The current Court has shown itself to be reactionary, radical, ideological and religiously driven, lousy historians, and terrible handicappers. Think gutting the Voting Rights Act and DeSantis winning Florida by .04% the first time around and how redistricting, voter suppression, gerrymandering, and excessive money in politics changed the result by 20 points! DeSantis raised over 20 times what Crist raised.
