How can we forget the ugly (greedy, envious) stepsisters who had to cut off their toes or heels to fit. A metaphor for the Mar-a-lago ladies of our day who have to cut off their noses into little tilted pig snouts, lift their wrinkles so they look like they fell out of a plane at 35,000 ft., bleach their hair or get hair extensions for half their lower pay than male wanna be alpha apes, wear stilletto heels to throw their backs out, then stay on their backs or on knees to serve our master's pleasure all day, get boob jobs for B-59s to rival Dolly's doozies, and wear decollete to the waist, and of course, never say the word No or I.......
Of course this is just a personal response, but I think Crockett speaks much more directly and without a filter. I always saw Harris as choosing her words and crafting a message rather than speaking directly. I was seldom certain what Harris really thought about issues, although she was much superior to Trump in every way.
To me, Kamala was thoughtful and tactful, not evasive or unintelligible.
Her opponent, however, was very clear about his godawful intentions, and people voted for him anyway.
I'm so tired of hearing people who voted for him, or simply didn't vote for Harris that they "didn't understand what she stood for". That's just pure bs.
Point taken. The biggest criticism of Harris I ever heard was she was ‘too cozy with corporate interests’… That said, CA has the biggest Dem donors($) and in the Age of Citizen’s United… what can you do? But still, ppl are craving authenticity I get it. They always ‘want’ a breath of fresh air, then they get mad when the person can’t ’play the game’ like a pro. GEEZus
We love the mouthy ones, yet end up expecting them to shut up when they win higher offices. Harris has been in politics much longer than Crockett so I don't think it's fair to compare the two. Different personalities and different ways of handling conflict. Get too mouthy and you sound like Trump. Remember at first in 2015, he seemed like a blunt, to the point candidate? That was just an initial coverup for being a cruel bully.
One was a VP, the other a Congresswoman. Besides a generational difference, you can't run your mouth (unless your JD) as VP like you can when you sit in the House. Both have their place in the party. Harris would use the honey approach, and Jasmine would go after you with vinegar mist. Loved her description of MT Greene. That was a classic. There's a fine line between diplomacy and aggressiveness.
Deborah: This is the #1 complaint about Dems. Why can’t the VP talk like Jasmine? Taco man’s pottymouth is based on greed & cruelty. Not so with Jasmine or Jeff. I think the population can tell the difference.
Because as VP in more normal circumstances, they do not overshadow the president. Notice that Harris did not do that with Biden. If you are always in the news for saying something controversial and in the news as VP, I feel that you do usurp the guy/gal at the top of the ticket. Not every voter likes outspoken politicians. I think there has to be a happy medium. I want someone in office that acts with decorum. Doesn’t mean you can’t be an attack dog on the campaign trail, but what reputation does Trump have all over the world now? White trash. Let others be the pit bulls. Look at the way Zelensky acts - he’s not a bully, but you don’t push him around either. He appears to be a gentleman. He appears to have worldwide respect except from Russia and their friends.
Decorum gave us Tacoman 2.0. There is a difference between pre-and post election. Decorum belongs to behaviors after the election. I am talking about how things are now and up to the election.
I was listening to NPR the other day and they were interviewing someone (Can't recall whom) who said that Repubs are like lions, tigers, and bears, and democrats are like 3-toed sloths. This is true. Dems never pile on, never speak out, never throw shit right back at the repubs. When they go low, we should be going lower. It's the only thing that will get their attention because it's the kind of rhetoric that they understand. Let's hit THEM below the belt for a change.
They are coasting on their reputation from before the Kochs started donating big money to them. They got much of their gov't funding cut, then cleverly began to make up the difference.
Kinda like Kamala, right?
Starting to think electing the woman has a ‘glass slipper syndrome’ - gotta fit perfectly 😣

you forgot the puffer fish lips
Yes. There is an official name for it "Trout-pout."
Much sharper than Kamala and way more forceful.
Might be more a difference in generational-style? I thought Kamala had the chops, myself…

Probably from her years as the AG of California. Had to choose her words VERY CAREFULLY.
That makes her an ineffective communicator when people are looking for someone who is a straight shooter from the hip.

As I said, she was much better than Trump. I just saw too much of the politician in her.
I wasn't inferring your vote from your comment.
I disagree. Further more, she's "less black" as Jasmine and sadly that carries weight with many.

Fucking NPR" Nice Polite Republicans".
Thank you.
