holy shit, Meet the Press, what the fuck were you thinking
besides “ohmigod the ratings,” that is
just two days after an exasperated Jack Smith asked Judge Chutkan to find some way to muzzle the quadrice-indicted twice-impeached popular-vote-losing adderall-huffing insurrection-leading judge-threatening lawyer-ignoring witness-tampering inheritance-squandering language-mangling serial-sexual-predating draft-dodging casino-bankrupting daughter-perving hush-money-paying real-estate-scamming bone-spur-faking ketchup-hurling justice-obstructing classified-war-plan-thieving weather-map-defacing horse-paste-promoting paper-towel-flinging tax-cheating evidence-destroying charity-defrauding money-laundering diaper-filling 91-count fluorescent tangerine crime-factory — NBC did the exact opposite, planting a big sloppy wet kiss right smack on Donald Trump’s big dumb vacant pumpkin face by inviting him to come onto Meet the Press for an hour-long quote-unquote “interview.”
every word out of Trump’s rancid anus-mouth was a lie, including “a” and “the.”
the whole thing was a shit-show, from beginning to end. the overstuffed trash bag of personality defects that is Donald Trump burst open and every fetid pathology came spilling out — the vanity, the narcissism, the grandiosity, the belligerence, the delusions, the petty grudges and whiny grievances — the whole stinking mess.
and above all, Trump is a victim. oh my god, what a victim. the most victimest victim who was ever victimized. so unfair!
please, let’s stop calling what happened an “interview.”
you see, there is no “interviewing” Donald Trump. there is no conversation. there is no question-and-answer, no back-and-forth, no give-and-take.
the guy is a fucking steamroller. give Trump an opening and off he goes, bloviating and filibustering, spouting one fantasy-filled stream of unconsciousness after another, and no one can wedge a word in edgewise.
check out this excerpt. in the space of two minutes, Trump spews one untruth after another — about Nancy Pelosi, January 6, the National Guard, the Capitol Police, evidence, the Mayor of DC, the police commissioner, on and on and on. every word a lie. and, as always, it’s Donald Trump who is the innocent victim. somehow, it’s always someone else’s fault that bad things just keep happening all around him.
and why are we still allowing this shithead to lie about abortion?
hours after the “interview” aired — long after the horse had left the barn — NBC posted a weak-sauce fact check on its web site. yay, I guess, but pro tip: if your “interview” subject requires a lengthy, after-the-fact “fact check,” then why did you bother “interviewing” him in the first place?
come on, media, it’s time to stop doing this.
the one thing that this country absolutely does not need right now is yet another “news” program bowing and scraping to a traitor to his country — allowing him to spread his dangerous lies and stoke his worshipers into a frenzy, calling him “mister president” and giving him the respect and deference and free air time that he absolutely fucking does not deserve.
at some point, our broken media has to get its shit together and be about more than ratings and revenue. I get tired of saying this, but it never stops being true: our democracy is at stake.
do better.
I don’t want to see another “interview” of Donald Trump unless it’s from a fucking prison cell.
holy shit, Meet the Press, what the fuck were you thinking
The only redeeming thing about this interview is that he destroyed his own legal defense coz "I made the decisions, it was me."
You nailed it with: "The overstuffed trash bag of personality defects that is Donald Trump burst open and every fetid pathology came spilling out." I can't imagine WHY we can't get more airtime for the guy who is actually getting sh*t done, the REAL President./s
