I'm breaking out my Dark Brandon shades again.

What was that thing about old, dementia, stumbling, etc. Biden just slips in there again and wins. The things the Rs think they got, well, there are switches built in that Joe can just flip and change it. And so the IRS gets $80 billion out of the $100 billion it was getting, that means they can still dust up and in two years get their other $20 billion.

The better thing than having your enemies underestimate your strengths, is having them overestimate your weaknesses.

“Get in loser, we’re going negotiating.”

McC: holds the interminable blank look, then says, Okay.” But he of course forgets to strap in. A few miles down the road, Loser asks “W-where’re we going, J-J-Joe?” Dark Brandon pats him on the knee and says in his fatherly voice, “Buckle up, son, while I tell you a story ...” as he shifts into plaid. The End

So grateful Joe's in charge. We have to keep him there through 2024, too!

He hired intelligent capable people and he listens to them

Chris Fox's avatar

I bet he even allows them to contradict him.

Which rocks.

And nobody's throwing anything against the wall ever.

Holy Fuck Jeff! You are so right, but the media is all, oh no, will this deal ever pass the house? They don't give Biden any credit for eating Kev's lunch, but he sure did. It's like watching a Vegas card shark playing with a 12 year old.

Jeff Tiedrich's avatar

I think the votes are there. I'm guessing that most Democrats and enough Republicans will vote for it.

This 'media' income, that is expressed in dollars per minute of advertising, is a result of ratings numbers.

The higher the ratings, the more expensive the air time to buy advertising availabilities ("Avails").

So. The way one increases ratings is by creating longer time spent watching (TSW) and numbers (Cume). And the way time spent watching and cume is increased, is by exploiting conflict.

In this instance the question of "Will this deal ever pass" is a construct which is designed to promote the illusion of conflict and uncertainty. This draws in a larger Cume and longer TSW. See?

Backed into a corner, the hillbilly fuckface was, since the only grown-up option remains to revoke unconscionable tax cuts and restore at least half of the reasonable tax rates on the wealthy (and on passive income) of the postwar consensus that once helped make this country a place where good shit can happen.

Somehow, fiscal policy became entangled with the culture nonsense.

McCarthy is so unequipped to lead Congress that his flop sweat makes him an obvious target for ridicule. But no one, no one, could handle these congressional Republicans. They are either insane -- or skillful at portraying themselves as insane -- or corrupt -- or too dumb to realize it -- and committed to burning it down. The GOP base is shrinking, but they are still happiest being part of the Rat King.

I am wondering if the 14th amendment was Biden’s ace up his sleeve and McCarthy knew it.

Doc Blase''s avatar

They sure made it seem as though the 14th amendment was discovered a week ago. At least one legislator saw it coming and filed the necessary motion (forgive me please, the specifics went by, and I didn't memorize them) which filing would have been necessary in order to be able to raise the 14th.

Why then are the people who are sworn to uphold the Constitution so reluctant to USE it? What's the use in having a constitution if it's treated as though it's a can of obsolete bug spray?

Yep ole man Biden has saved the best for last in this war with hate and stupidity.

I am going to buy some aviator sunglasses for myself as a war prize!!!

Pick up a yellow Corvette convertible while you're at it.

I had a bet when Kev finally won his 15x house speaker vote, that he wouldn’t make it through year one. I am thinking of doubling it, but my maga wagee is in a apoplectic Tasmanian Devil spin at the moment. It’s been a long moment, actually. He may need to be darted. Unless you know anyone looking for post hole or grave diggers?

Lord. Is this really true?

Chris Fox's avatar

McCarthy looks like an animated mannequin. But I think an unanimated one would make a better Speaker.

I would have loved to have been Pence's fly on the wall for a couple of those meetings.

Tee-he-he.

Karen Livolsi's avatar

Ah ha! A new meme! First Dark Brandon now Mike Pence’s fly!

Lorraine Parish's avatar

yes! and maybe driving a tiny convertible.

Rick Bonin's avatar

Yes, yes, yes. This is what I have been thinking. Never underestimate Dark Brandon. He has been thru too much in his ling life to get this wrong. I have been around a lot of dementia and I can tell you there is none in Joe. He just needs our support.

Chris Fox's avatar

Ineffectual is used more to describe people, ineffective to describe processes. Yes the meaning comes across either way.

Call me a pain in the ass if you like.

And find a better dictionary

Jeff Tiedrich's avatar

you enjoy arguing for the sake of arguing.

I enjoy not engaging

Chris Fox's avatar

No. I like accuracy. Ineffectual is the better word there.

You talk of “transphobia.”

Dark Brandon slays McCarthy again! 😎Another way to say it is that Dark Brandon slays Big Marge’s Beyotch! Either way, Joe won the negotiations. 🎉
