Other shit that happened: Trump said ICE will be running raid operations at the Super Bowl—bc apparently violent illegals can afford $5k tickets…

And

Also was said that ICE will be providing diplomatic security for the Olympics—as if that doesn’t have international incident written all over it…

Jan Moon's avatar

ICE is providing Diplomatic Security????? If that isn't an oxymoron with a cherry on top I don't know what is. Holy crap . . .

arne link's avatar

Diplomatic security for whom? I hope everyone boycotts the Olympics. Sorry for the vendors who will lose money, but this is madness. Thugs to protect the athletes or the big names who will attend. I think we all know the answer to that question.

Keith's avatar

CALL OUT EVERY (supposed) FRIEND, EVERY NEIGHBOR FOR THEIR SUPPORT of TRUMP!

LET MAGA HEAR YOUR HURT, HEAR YOUR ANGERS!

BOYCOTT EVERY MAGA OWNED BUSINESS!

WAKE UP THE WAR ON CITIZENS HAS ALREADY BEGUN!

IT WILL NOT GET BETTER FOR US UNTIL WE STAND AND SAY 'FUK NO!'

the diktater's appetite for violence has not been met!

Eileen's avatar

Totally agree that this is a mini win for us but not anything resembling a real win. The only significant threat to Trump administration is losing the House and the Senate in 2026. BUT they intend to either declare martial law or scuttle the results of the election so we don't win. In the meantime, we the people have to protest with everything we have EXCEPT for violence. We cannot give them one tiny violent action they can use as an excuse to lock down the country and wade into civil war conditions. That was their hope and still is one of their aspirations as we enter this next phase. They want us to rest on our laurels while they regroup. They want us to blink and then attack. We can't stop until they are in jail.

Mary Busch's avatar

Eileen, I agree. We must PEACEFULLY protest. But here's my greatest fear. They send a false flag operator among the peaceful protestors who throws a Molotov cocktail at ICE, thereby sparking a violent riot, justifying Convict Chump declaring martial law and suspending elections. Protestors must be vigilantly aware of this prospect, and if they sense a MAGAt operator trying to incite violence but acting like one of them, the peaceful protestors must immediately disperse and move away from this operator. But this is hard to do in the heat of the moment. I feel like we are floating above a precarious tinder box, ready to explode at any moment.

Keith's avatar

STANDING IN DEFIANCE STANDING FOR RIGHT doesn't always work.

trump, dhs, cbp, fbi already have their reasons

already spreading lies accusing the victim as aggressor before the facts were available to them, labeled & accused the dead as domestic terrorists

using the videos of execution in the streets of minneapolis to rile their party

thru purposeful denial and targeted accusations

i don't want any more violence but i understand the bloodlust our enemies embody

words are not always the road to success or survival

physical presence is necessary

good fortune to us all

This is the Winter Olympics, in Milano soon, not the Summer Olympics supposed to be in the US two years from now. JD Vance is leading our official representative delegation and wants ICE agents as part of his security, in addition to the usual Secret Service. The mayor of Milano says he does not want anybody from ICE entering his city but I don't know if he has the power to stop it.

PTW's avatar

I assume these ICE people would need visas to enter Italy, to work in Italy. Yes? Just because the Dictator sends them there doesn't mean they have to automatically be let into the country, does it?

Robert Eckert's avatar

Prime Minister Meloni is from a right-wing party and while she criticizes Trump sometimes she also has been known to be soft on him, e.g. on the Greenland kerfuffle. Her Foreign Minister says "it's not like the SS coming to our country" but a petition with 50,000 signatures argues otherwise and asks the government to block their entry. We will see, but it does not appear that the mayor of Milano has enough authority within their system to do anything about it.

Tex237's avatar

Vance wanting ICE agents is so performative and aggressive.

Robert Eckert's avatar

I read somewhere that this is "HSI" a branch of Homeland Security that is nominally under ICE, but HSI agents wish they could be dissociated from the rest of what ICE does. HSI is in charge of investigating transnational criminal gangs. HSI has been permitted to operate in several other countries, including Italy, before so there wouldn't have been such controversy except for the timing of this.

Jeffrey Epstein Appeared to Threaten Bill Gates Over Microsoft Co-Founder’s Affair With Russian Bridge Player

By Khadeeja SafdarFollow

and Emily GlazerFollow

May 21, 2023 11:32 am ET

Jeffrey Epstein discovered that Bill Gates had an affair with a Russian bridge player and later appeared to use his knowledge to threaten one of the world’s richest men, according to people familiar with the matter.

The Microsoft co-founder met the woman around 2010, when she was in her 20s. Epstein met her in 2013 and later paid for her to attend software coding school. In 2017, Epstein emailed Gates and asked to be reimbursed for the cost of the course, according to the people familiar with the matter.

The email came after the convicted sex offender had struggled and failed to persuade Gates to participate in a multibillion-dollar charitable fund that Epstein tried to establish with JPMorgan Chase. The implication behind the message, according to people who have viewed it, was that Epstein could reveal the affair if Gates didn’t keep up an association between the two men.

“Mr. Gates met with Epstein solely for philanthropic purposes. Having failed repeatedly to draw Mr. Gates beyond these matters, Epstein tried unsuccessfully to leverage a past relationship to threaten Mr. Gates,” said a spokeswoman for Gates.

Epstein was accused in 2006 of sexually abusing girls as young as 14 and pleaded guilty in 2008 to soliciting and procuring a minor for prostitution. He spent time in a Florida jail and registered as a sex offender. After the Miami Herald reported on dozens more women who said they were abused, he was arrested in 2019 on sex trafficking charges. He died later that year in jail while awaiting trial in what the medical examiner ruled was a suicide.

Gates, 67 years old, a technology adviser to Microsoft and one of its largest shareholders, has said he met Epstein a few times only to discuss philanthropy, which he regrets and calls a mistake.

Mila Antonova, the Russian bridge player, declined to comment on Gates and said she didn’t know who Epstein was when they met. “I had no idea that he was a criminal or had any ulterior motive,” she said of Epstein. “I just thought he was a successful businessman and wanted to help.” She added: “I am disgusted with Epstein and what he did.”

The new details about Epstein and Gates reveal a layer of complexity to their relationship, and shed new light on how Epstein operated. In the years between his 2008 conviction and death, Epstein packed his days meeting with politicians, businessmen, academics and celebrities. He provided favors and sought to use the connections for his own purposes. And when the relationships soured, he could turn against people.

Gates, with a net worth in excess of $100 billion and one of the world’s biggest philanthropists, was among the most well-known names in Epstein’s calendar.

Starting in 2011, Gates had more than a half dozen meetings scheduled with Epstein, including dinners at Epstein’s New York townhouse, documents show. Gates flew on Epstein’s private plane from New Jersey to Florida in March 2013, according to flight records. That same month the two men met in France with an official on the Nobel Peace Prize committee. They spent much of a day together in New York City in September 2014meeting other billionaires, the Journal reported.

Susan Niemann's avatar

I had no idea...except I did know Robert Craft is a total POS.

Andrea's avatar

Robert Craft is a total POS. Bill Gates, also a POS, has NOTHING to do with the Seahawks. Paul Allen, although a co-founder of Microsoft, had a falling out with Gates and quit working at Microsoft in the 1980s, well before buying the Seahawks. Paul Allen was a decent man. His sister Jody is president of the team now. Crap on the NFL and Robert Craft and Bill Gates all you want, but the owners of the Seahawks are decent people.

Caroline Tompkins's avatar

If you could just take out the racist use of the dehumanizing term "illegals," and replace it with "immigrants," your post would be perfect.

HI2thDoc's avatar

I'm sure that the indigenous tribes of the American continents who lost their land, freedom, and culture to the white immigrants considered them to be illegal or whatever term was appropriate to their perspective at the time

Unity In Defiance's avatar

The phrase "violent illegals" is a deliberate used paraphrase of the administration’s own rhetoric—juxtaposed against the $5k tickets and used to show how absurd and harmful it is—not to endorse the term itself.

The issue here is state propaganda, not semantics.

Caroline Tompkins's avatar

your semantics are my respect. You wouldn't say n****r was semantics just because it was about state propaganda. The NOUN "illegals" is a dehumanizing term, just as is the n-word.

Keith's avatar

illegals is justification for use of untethered violence

illegals is their definitive choice for the minorities they have problems with and want to extinguish

Keith's avatar

trumps 'AIR NUMBERS" have gone from 12 million illegals to 25 million criminal insane violent anti-america welfare recipients and fake/illegal voters for SLEEPY JOE'S INSANE AND CRIMINAL DEMOCRATS!

Caroline Tompkins's avatar

Your pivot to the indigenous nations is disingenuous and off the point. The NOUN illegals is demeaning and a Magat word. The ADJECTIVE illegal is useful under a very limited set of circumstances and is overbroad. Racists use it to cover every brown person of whatever category: Asylum seekers, economic immigrants who pick the grapes for your wine, special categories like those who helped the US military in Afghanistan, and more.

HI2thDoc's avatar

Okay. I'm just pointing out that those from non-indigenous people were probably viewed that way by the original inhabitants of what is now the USA. And I meant to illustrate whimsically that the now-demeaning term "illegal immigrant" is moot when applied to that time since in those days we were not a sovereign nation but new land ripe for pillaging and seizure by the colonialists of Europe.

Keith's avatar

i'm thinking they had thoughts bordering on ...

'THOSE FUKIN WHITE PEOPLE

MURDERING MONSTERS OF OUR PEOPLE!'

Cathy Rady's avatar

'undocumented' would be better . . . but for the fact that the white supremacist Gestapo actually ARE going after anyone who looks or sounds like an immigrant. They don't give a crap about their status. violence is the point.

And meanwhile, the Orange One is busily removing protected status from thousands of people who are here legally . . . trying to make it easier for his goons to run up the big numbers on deportations.

umm, and in case you've missed this

in an effort to reach Steven Miller's quotas, ICE goons have been camping outside of courthouses. Snatching asylum seekers when they attempt to attend their court ordered Immigration hearings

assaylum aspiring

who are jumping through all the hoops

following the laws & all the rules

and ICE/CBP is snatching immigrants who are following our rules, obeying the system

and attempting to deport them before there's any possibility for a fair hearing

cuz

I bet they get the same bonus when they snatch a grandparent, landscaper, restaurant or hospital / nursing home worker

for less effort / equal payback as if they'd actually made the effort to catch a criminall

When ICE starts tackling people in the long security lines at Levi's Stadium, will Comcast allow NBC/Peacock NFL analyst Cris Collinsworth to critique their technique?

Hollie Rood's avatar

The real reason tRUMP will not be attending the Super Bowl. He can’t get caught up in a raid. How could he lie about it otherwise. That and the fact Bad Bunny and Green Day hate him

Lynell(VA by way of MD&DC)'s avatar

Here's Italy's reaction to the news that ICE intends to be there:

Milan’s mayor, Giuseppe Sala, told RTL radio that the agents would not be welcome in the city “because they don’t guarantee they’re aligned with our democratic security management methods”.

“This is a militia that kills,” he said. “It’s clear that they are not welcome in Milan, there’s no doubt about it. Can’t we just say no to Trump for once?

“We can take care of their security ourselves. We don’t need ICE.”

Alessandro Zan, a member of the European parliament for the centre-left Democratic party, said the presence of ICE agents would be unacceptable.

“In Italy, we don’t want those who trample on human rights and act outside of any democratic control,” he wrote on X.

The rest of the article says ICE will be there to protect JD Vance and Marco Rubio.

Jeff, Stasi rolled through Phoenix yesterday with a targeted assault on Zipps restaurants. In some instances patrons were locked inside while agents set about busting cooks, servers, dishwashers and busboys.. News of these raids traveled quickly to enable demonstrators to surround the targeted restaurants. I may be incorrect, but viewing these assaults on businesses in blue cities such as Minneapolis and Phoenix it seems the feds are attempting to destroy the local economies.. this is a real shit show and I’m tired of it… Best to you and fellow travelers.

Anastasia Pantsios's avatar

Oooooh, they grabbed cooks, servers, dishwashers and busboys. Glad they got rid of all THOSE threats to America! I agree with you that they are taking a wrecking ball to local blue economies – but that is going to have a huge downwind impact on red areas.

As a resident of the Phoenix metro area, I am certainly feeling much much safer this morning knowing that the guy who bussed the tables at the Zipps down the street won’t be terrorizing us anymore. Water Goddess's avatar

It all makes sense when you realize Trump was installed to destroy America at every level. Probably by Putin.

Monnina's avatar

The primary military tactic motive for open state violence like you record here is stochastic. It is to send a message to all Americans that they will be next if they, like Noem’s family puppy, disobey.

Ditto Goode and Pretti. I fully expect these kinds of action to exponentially increase across the states now. Bullies like Maga-Trump, no matter what lies they use their twisted mouths to utter, have no emotional reverse gear.

The parallel rise in mutual neighbourly aid that is also occurring across the states in response to Maga-Trump’s state violence, obviously not being equally covered by corporate media, is the true shining light on the hill here.

"Not Tall Enough to Take This Ride guy" HAHA!! And you're right...the felon only cares about poll numbers. He's such scum.

Daniel M Kimmel's avatar

I've been a film critic for more than four decades. When they don't press screen a movie in advance of the opening it's a sign that it's a turkey.

Ann Anderson's avatar

Ha! They should title it Tank Hard.

bruce somers's avatar

I assume it's closed-captioned because no one can actually figure out which language she speaks.

Susie's avatar

I love every single thing about this comment. Thank you! 👏🏻💜👏🏻

Maria Devereux's avatar

That would be Andrew Mountbatten, Liz Truss, and maybe Boris...just because?

Martha Howell's avatar

Those are probably the 3 lowest-ranked movie critics in all of UK media, unlucky enough to have drawn the worst assignment of the millennial to date.

Susan Niemann's avatar

Greggy is being replaced by old Ham Face? LOL That oughta go over well. 🙄

Look, when you lose Gov Abbott, you know you're screwed. I'd love to think these assholes are finding some human decency, but all they're worried about is optics. These people are the worst of the worst.

Oh...even John Fetterman is thinking we need to get rid of Krusti Noem. Holy crap!!

Susie's avatar

Spineless, flip-flopping, makes-me-sorry-I-supported-him, asshole “Senator” says what now?!?!?

Susan Niemann's avatar

😂 Excellent description. He hasn't been the same since he and his wife flew to see Trump in Florida...after that he started singing a different tune. I have to wonder what went on in that meeting.

Water Goddess's avatar

Yeah, what the fuck happens to you, Fetterman? You came out swinging like the Dems of old but after your health incident, you totally folded over for the maga Nazis like a cheap lawn chair.

SwitchBug's avatar

Get down on your hands and knees along with every Democrat in Pennsylvania and beg Conor Lamb to run again. I wish he’d move to my state. Fetterman has never been anything other than mentally, physically and fashion challenged.

Keith's avatar

you talkin 'bout 'speed racer abbott?

he is the face of texas racist god fearing texan,

i know them well ... they were my family and childhood friends

NO MORE!

Gayna's avatar

Abbott is a sadistic motherfucker. After he won millions in his lawsuit when a tree fell on him and left him in a wheelchair, he became AG of Texas and got “tort reform” passed so now no one gets more than $250k. He let a mother and her children drown in his barbed wire play ground he put in the rio grande while his national guardsmen were ordered NOT to render aid. He is one of the reasons I moved from that shithole state.

Keith's avatar

when i was discharged in MAY'71 i spent 3 days on the family farm/ranch in south texas ... haven't returned, never will.

IT IS TRUE, YOU CAN PICK YOUR NOSE PICK YOUR SEAT BUT NOT YOUR BORN INTO FAMILY.

Susan Niemann's avatar

Oh my. Abbott was family. Musta been awkward at Christmas 🤦‍♀️🤣

Keith's avatar

NO, my family is MAGA ... i am NOT!

i haven't had any contact with any of my bloodline since 2015

best 10 years of my life and i'm 75

BEST DECISION I'VE EVER MADE!

Susan Niemann's avatar

I understand YOU are not MAGA. I got that. I thought you meant you were related to Greg Abbott.

Keith's avatar

i stick with no thanks!

bruce somers's avatar

There is only a 2 vote majority in the House, but I'm not holding my breath,of course some press wienie stalked Murkowski yesterday, for about 90 seconds she said absolutely nothing...as usual, Randy-little-Q-Tip Rand Paul whined something about impeaching Krusti the Gnome, but pretty sure that moron voted against a bill he introduced, just to be an insolent little attention whore.

Juan Gomez's avatar

Let’s hope not because he got removed now everything will be “forgiven and forgotten”. There has to be accountability. And let’s hope Noem is next

DR Darke's avatar

"Let’s hope not because he got removed now everything will be “forgiven and forgotten”. There has to be accountability. And let’s hope Noem is next"

Again, Bovino's not "removed"—unless you mean from Minneapolis.

He's now back in Southern California's Imperial Valley deporting migrant workers based on the not-at-all-racist criteria of How Brown They Are....

Daniel M Kimmel's avatar

Minnesota should indict him for aiding and abetting a homicide after the fact (he moved the murderous agents out of state). California can then arrest him and allow him to be extradited back to Minnesota.

DR Darke's avatar

"Minnesota should indict him for aiding and abetting a homicide after the fact (he moved the murderous agents out of state). California can then arrest him and allow him to be extradited back to Minnesota."

Yes, they should—unfortunately, since they haven't yet?

The way Bovino's transfer is being presented, even here (Sorry, Jeff), tells me everybody's thinking, "Out of sight, out of mind!"

It pisses me off like this protest sign did during Trump's first regime, "IF HILLARY WERE PRESIDENT WE'D BE AT BRUNCH NOW!"...which pretty much tells you just how unlikely it is that anything structural will be fixed, as Clinton NeoLibs just slap another Band-Aid on the US's Sucking Chest Wound....

Teresa G's avatar

There will be accountability at one point.

Terri Nighswonger's avatar

and stephen miller still sits on his perch

Jean Jacoby's avatar

There's a portrait of him in a closet somewhere...

Peter K's avatar

I think you meant to say “…hangs upside down on his perch.”

Elizabeth's avatar

I stand corrected. :)

Jane's avatar

Evil Steven Miller needs to be removed!

Daniel M Kimmel's avatar

Reporters should start asking Trump if Miller gave the okay for some action as if Trump works for him. Good way to drive a wedge between them.

Elizabeth's avatar

Good point. One thing trump hates is the appearance of someone else appearing to be the top dog.

Sharon Hudnall's avatar

Don't let Suzie Wiles off the hook. Miller reports to her and she has a larger role than just playing Bad Grandma.

Leigh Hamilton's avatar

Not everything in one day. Miller stays in the WH. His turn will come.

Annabelle's avatar

I absofuckinlutely DESPISE Nosferatu Miller. He makes me want to 🤮...I refuse to look at him

Elizabeth's avatar

💯A face only a mother could love...or maybe not.

Annabelle's avatar

I'm not really sure about the mother's feelings when she saw this. I know every mother thinks their baby is beautiful...but I just can't imagine what she may have thought. Bless her heart. I know some of his family have practically disowned him

Sam Maruca's avatar

Firing Bovino and leaving Miller in place is like putting the dog outside and leaving the dogshit in the kitchen.

Koko in AZ's avatar

Gestapo Greg, Garden Noem, Creepy Corey, Bagman Homan, Count Dracula Miller and Stevie 7-shirts. Somehow they all think they're part of "The Superior Race". These are people who couldn't be employed doing anything apart from government (and podcasting) because they're all so repulsive, yet they are in control (well, maybe not Little Greg anymore). The rot is top down, and I'll be furious if Democratic Senators vote in favor of this week's spending bill because of Bovino's demotion when the rest of them are still in power.

Daniel M Kimmel's avatar

Absolutely. Make the Republicans own this debacle.

Susie's avatar

Yes. This ⬆️

I’m waiting for Leavitt to be so set off by a question that she stamps her feet.

Hollie Rood's avatar

😂😂I think she just might be close to it. That would be glorious.

Ellen McKenzie's avatar

Things will bounce with stamping feet.

Maria Devereux's avatar

And tosses her pretty hair? Or is that Blondi? Noem is too afraid hers will fall off.

Virgin Monk Boy's avatar

Good riddance, sure. But let’s not kid ourselves. Bovino isn’t accountability, he’s ballast. They tossed him overboard because the ship was listing, not because they suddenly found a conscience. When the policy stays and only the face changes, that’s not justice. That’s PR with handcuffs still on.

djw's avatar

This is a start, but the whole cabal has to go. I don't believe for a minute that Orange Julius is compos mentis enough to dream up all this stuff; I think his puppet masters are dangling it in front of him until he pounces, and then they all laugh in the shadows about how he has done their evil for them.

Koko in AZ's avatar

Orange Julius! Lol! I hadn't heard that one, before.

George A. Polisner's avatar

Thanks Jeff.

I'll reserve my "good riddance" to the "1/3 Reich" Bovino when he is rotting behind bars with his CBP and ICE goons.

My latest about the subject is now up at: https://open.substack.com/pub/bomdia/p/a-hierarchy-of-untouchables

It's free -and many have said it's worth twice that.

I prefer to call him the Teacup Nazi, bc he’s so itty bitty.

Sounds like a stiff breeze picked up and blew his tiny ass back to Cali

El Centro is a miserable fly speck in the Colorado Desert along I-8. Now he can be a “big” man in a small town.

ynot1965's avatar

A town named in Spanish!

ynot1965's avatar

Hmm..yeah..probably something to do with the fact that it was a Spanish colony and then part of Mexico…

arne link's avatar

Most California towns have Spanish names.

Sharon Hudnall's avatar

The vast majority of residents in El Centro are Hispanic (87%). He'll be eating TV dinners there the rest of his life.

Lise Buranen's avatar

And curtailing his intake of liquids.

George A. Polisner's avatar

I’d like to see the teacup behind bars at Rikers -but any prison will do -or better, an ICE detention center.

Unity In Defiance's avatar

Or give him a detention party where all the guards throttle his tiny neck, like his guards and agents have done to detainees

Lisa Bieber's avatar

Apparently they are breeding micro teacup poodles now. Would you say he's a Micro Teacup Nazi?

Unity In Defiance's avatar

Haha absolutely! Mico Teacup Nazi Greg is king of the Nanosphere!
