Maybe with some sort of agreement that they would only be made public after a decent interval or, if necessary, to prove or refute some disputed aspect of the proceedings (the aforementioned instances of perjury). It might also make Donny Boy's advocates more careful about what they say if they know they're on tape and that that tape can be used to prove they lied. The camera(s) could be pointed away from the jury to protect their identities.
