even Fox News knows this impeachment is bullshit
the latest chapter in House GOP clownfuckery.
Peter Doocy is a professional buffoon.
his job is to follow Joe Biden around and shout inane questions at him, hoping that Joe’s exasperated response goes viral.
for this, Fox News pays Peter Doocy handsomely.
in simpler times, the Peter Doocys of the world delighted carnival crowds by biting the heads off live chickens.
everyone’s got to earn a living somehow.
but even Sideshow Pete knows when bullshit is bullshit.
“the House Oversight Committee has been at this for years, and they have so far not been able to provide any concrete evidence that Joe Biden personally profited from his son Hunter’s overseas business.”
it’s just the latest chapter in House GOP clownfuckery. these nitwits are so hot to impeach Joe Biden for any reason that they are perfectly willing to publicly humiliate themselves — over and over.
not a week goes by that these dipshits don’t have some cockamamie new quote-unquote “proof” of Biden Crime Family corruption — “proof” which inevitably blows right the fuck up in their big dumb faces, and is never mentioned again.
remember the time Joe Biden lent his brother James some money, and his brother paid him back? that “smoking gun” was so pathetic that it didn’t even last one news cycle.
but this latest bit of evidence was so ludicrous — that Joe Biden helping his son Hunter buy a car was proof of who the fuck even knows what — that the press couldn’t keep a straight face.
House Republicans have been making the rounds of the cable news shows and — oh lordy! — how satisfying it is to watch these self-important goobers get their asses handed to them.
Tim Burchett went on CNN to make his case, and host Brianna Keilar was having none of it.
Keilar: “excuse me, but there’s no connection to President Biden, so can you explain that? what are you talking about?”
Burchett: “yes well, yes ma’am, there is, this latest transaction, there absolutely is, and there’s a monthly payment—”
Keilar: “wait, are you talking about the thirteen hundred eighty dollar transaction, the car payment reimbursement?”
Burchett: “now, that’s what they’re calling it, but actually—”
Keilar: “no, that’s what your [House Oversight] Committee put out a receipt that shows it’s a reimbursement for a car payment. and also, the ways in which you’re characterizing some of the things about the involvement — it’s just not as clear cut as you are characterizing it to be.”
Burchett: “are you going to let me talk?”
everything is proof of something with these dunderheads.
world-class rake-stepper James Comer — clearly the biggest fucking glutton for punishment in the universe — went on Jake Tapper’s show to make the dumbest allegation ever: that Special Counsel Weiss indicted Hunter Biden on tax evasion charges in order to protect him.
Jake mocked Comer right to his face.
Comer: “we think that this is just the tip of the iceberg. we think that there are many more crimes, and my concern is that Weiss may have indicted Hunter Biden to protect him.”
Tapper: “ah, yes! he indicted him to protect him. yes! the classic rubric. he indicted him to protect him. I got it.”
Comer: “what this whole thing, Jake, this whole thing’s been about a coverup. you know, you’ve got two—”
Tapper: “that’s why he indicted him, to protect him, to cover it up?”
Comer: “look, you indict him on the least little things, gun charge and not paying taxes.”
Tapper: “he’s facing seventeen additional years in prison.”
Comer: “yes, but—”
you almost have to admire someone who is this eager to look like a moron on live TV.
how do these people get the fork to their mouth without stabbing themselves in the eye?
nonetheless, the impeachers march on. there are five days left in the legislative calendar for 2023, after which the House shuts down until after the new year. there’s a shitload of pressing legislation that must be dealt with sooner than later.
That includes the supplemental foreign-aid package to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. If a Christmas miracle happened in the Senate, and some bipartisan agreement were reached, there’s no guarantee that Johnson would agree to put it on the House floor. He’s drawn some pretty stark lines around what he’ll accept. He could be bullied by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and other Senate Republicans into accepting an agreement, but that’s extremely unlikely to happen before Christmas.
That’s not all that will be simmering on back burners until January. The Federal Aviation Administration’s authorization expires Dec. 31.
the FAA authorization is what pays for things like air traffic controllers. kind of important, right?
but impeachment is what Holy Mike and Rake-Stepping Jimmy and all their witless confederates are wasting our precious time on.
at least the press finally seems to be wising up.
imagine an impeachment inquiry so devoid of any reason for being that our normally-compliant lazy-stenographer media calls out how stupid it is.
imagine an impeachment inquiry so bogus that even Peter Doocy won’t play along.
