It's disgusting that the arrest/detainment of Sen Padilla has overshadowed what ICE Barbie said just before the incident. I watched the full video in horror as she actually said that the troops would remain until they had "liberated" the city from the "Socialist leaders". She's declaring that the Jan 6th coup is back in full swing!

Anyone who would kill a healthy dog they raised from a puppy has to be a sociopath. There is nothing more loyal than a dog. She blamed him for not being well trained. She should have shot herself because it was her bad training.

Murdering her dog for not following orders tells us a lot. Krusty Gnome thinks “owning a dog” means she has rights to enslave the animal. There is no companionship, no relationship of love and caring. If it doesn’t obey, the animal has no value.

This is the same way she treats people. If they cannot provide her with something she wants, they should be removed, ignored and deported. She resides at the top of the Distasteful Totem Pole.

About her book, according to Guardian, 'She includes her story about the ill-fated Cricket, she says, to illustrate her willingness, in politics as well as in South Dakota life, to do anything “difficult, messy and ugly” if it simply needs to be done.'

And the other horror:

'Her family, she writes, also owned a male goat that was “nasty and mean”, because it had not been castrated. Furthermore, the goat smelled “disgusting, musky, rancid” and “loved to chase” Noem’s children, knocking them down and ruining their clothes.

Noem decided to kill the unnamed goat the same way she had just killed Cricket the dog. But though she “dragged him to a gravel pit”, the goat jumped as she shot and therefore survived the wound. Noem says she went back to her truck, retrieved another shell, then “hurried back to the gravel pit and put him down.”'

https://www.theguardian.com/books/2024/apr/26/trump-kristi-noem-shot-dog-and-goat-book

Did the gnome even consider rehoming Cricket? Did she even think that she was a fucking incompetent trainer? That in a new home with people who loved him and spent time training him he may very well have flourished? No, killing it was the only option that came to her mind.

Did she even consider castrating the (unnamed) goat? Did she wonder why the goat loved to chase her children? Did she ever think about washing her goat? No, killing it was the only option that came to her mind.

This speaks volumes about her method of running Homeland Security. Killing, literally and figuratively, is the only solution.

I'm STILL working with my own adopted rescue Eskie dog (got him as a companion for our much older American Eskimo rescue pup). Picked him up during Covid. He was a year Plus, UN-neutered so pretty much out of control and had lived on Brooklyn Streets scavenging for food. A CAT rescue took him in so needed him out of there (probably feeding him salmon which he still tries to steal - and if he can't get a fresh can, will sneak in as we clean the litter and nab our remaining kitty's 'leavings' since it probably tastes nearly as good - to him. I realize many of you are now 'Ugh-ing' over the very idea, but he IS a dog and they do like to roll in all kinds of things. He was fostered briefly IN Brooklyn by a sweet woman who seemed quite anxious to hand him over to us because of our 'big, wooded backyard' which is now his domain. We didn't find out until later that he eats paper, magazines, (bills) important irreplaceable papers, even the sheetrock next to the door he wants out of, etc. He even ate half of my Wedding album. So now EVERYTHING has been moved up to top shelves - the lower ones are empty and have stayed this way for the last 5 years. He steals the DISH remote and chews it until Daddy bribes him with a cookie. 'That damned dog' is the refrain heard the most here. Sigh. He wanted to give him back in early days (and even later ones) but I refused. Luka (not his previous name) had been abused, clearly - his microchip wiped BY HIS OWNERS! Why? Hubby went in for elective surgery just before Covid - which ended up extended to multiple surgeries over months, leaving me trying to deal with Luka alone. 'Twas impossible so I contacted trainers (husband and wife team) in Connecticut who came by Ferry, evaluated him then took him for weeks, extending into the entire length of hubby's hospitalization. Cost - a lot! Worked with him, sent me updates and lots of photos of him getting along well with other dogs and even their cat. Ha! Then they brought him home. He was as good as gold. What excitement! It lasted a day until he realized he was back 'here' where all the good stuff he could destroy was still available, lol. So I kissed that money goodbye and have figured him out sloooowly. He has an innate sweetness and has come a long way but I can't trust him with strangers. He loves me...sleeps next to me and falls asleep to MY Smooth Jazz music. He's anxious when left alone, still

has separation anxiety I'm working to alleviate. Long hard road...he's worth it. LOVE is how it's done. I can't imagine ANYONE doing what Noem did to her own puppy! - I'd run into a burning building for my fur babies!

Until Luka, my multiple furbabies were a breeze to deal with, and I'm the original 'cat lady' here.. ;) The wee feral cat mommies somehow always found their way to our property to birth their babies where I'd spot them soon after, fall in love and work to entice both Moms and babes up to the back door. I still have videos (somewhere) of them all and me - when I could, kneeling there doling out kitten food to both skinny and skittish mommies and their huge litters. Most of them ended up INside to live out their lives. Only a few were un-capturable. I've also found grown-assed big boy catz perched on my back wall watching me until I come down (it's quite hilly) with a can and plate. They too ended up inside, some already on their last legs. No matter, all wonderful and MY loves. I decided there must be a big sign written in 'cat' on the back of my house: 'Bring us your poor, your hungry, yearning to be fed'. We only began with dogs in the 2000's when a friend's husband, just like Noem a gun nut, decided to murder their 10month old purebred Eskie pup. I'd babysat her at six months and fallen in love so the phone call telling me to 'come get her or he'll put a bullet in her brain today' was shocking/galvanizing. We sped there, my friend handed her over through the door without a word all of her 'gear' was dumped outside. She'd been badly abused and was terrified of men. Thus began our love for American Eskimo dogs. Luka's our 4th and the toughest, although like Shawnee - hubby does have affection for him he doesn't like to admit. They all desperately want him to love them as 'pack leader'. I surmise Noem 'could' have spent a tiny amount of time paying a trainer/working with her animals to socialize them. Nope, killing them was 'more fun'. Ugh. Her goat's behaviour was NORMAL. She IS a sociopath and vile.

Percy still is although he'll likely be my last kitty unless I can find an old, dog-tolerant cat who's able to stand his or her ground with Mr. Luka crazy-pants who goes bonkers when he catches even a glimpse of a furry-purry, I don't know if I could accept living without a cat, ergo my continuing quandary. I'm glad you too are an animal person. Wish there were far more of us in this world - to outweigh the gnomes.

When I lived in Florida (god help me), the first I knew of Pam Blondi was when she tried to steal a St. Bernard that belonged to Katrina evacuees: the family had turned the dog over to a shelter for safekeeping (NOT adoption) until they found safety themselves. Blondi got the dog and would not return it to the rightful owners; she slandered them in the news....and finally caved when the family was going to take her to court, because an honorable, decent human being of an attorney took their case, pro bono.

Blondi also took $25K from Demento to ignore the Trump University scam.

They literally saw him LEAVING in his fake cop car and exchanged gunfire but he got away on foot! This message is for President (PieceOfShit) Trump:

I just listened to Senator Patty Murray’s address to all of our country’s Senators about the wrong that was done to one of my state’s Senators, Alex Padilla, who, after he attempted to ask lying, incompetent Kristi Noem questions, was manhandled to the ground and handcuffed by your administration’s DHS Gestapo. (I also watched a video to see what happened.)

All I want to say for right now is that you, Fraud Trump, are a liar, a fraud, a con, a scumbag, a fascist, a racist, Putin’s puppet (which makes you a traitor), and, yes, America’s Disgrace.

I’m praying to Jesus (daily) for you to suffer a massive debilitating stroke or a massive heart attack. (And if that happens on your birthday, it will be a fabulous present to the citizens of our country!) Yes, you, Trump, are that fucking DISGUSTING!

I did not know one could leave messages for the Trump regime (especially him) on the link you provided! Thank you for posting this. I’m headed there now. Maybe if the 60%of those that rate him deplorable left messages of their distain, the message would sink in we HATE HIM AND HIS FOLLOWERS and what they are doing to this country.

The biggest job we have now is trying to elevate decency into America society...because anyone who can STILL find a way to support this tyrannical regime is a traitor to democracy. Tackling a sitting Senator was a surreal event. These fucking people MUST be stopped.

THIS is what bothers me the most. It’s apparent that a prerequisite for being a member of the ICE/Trump Gestapo is the ability to inflict pain and suffering. Complete lack of compassion and empathy might just put you in a higher income bracket. When this is over these repulsive people will be reviled and hated for their traitorous acts!

I honestly cannot help but wonder if their families even know about their new "jobs". Accountability to anyone? Their own children? Maybe that whole lizard people walking amongst us has some validity. No shame, no feelings for anyone or anything. Heading to the streets tomorrow!

Their families may be just as bullying and bad. Or, are his victims. Remember the son that turned in his crazy, insurrectionist, father? The father said he was going to kill him when he got out. And Comb-over Caligula pardoned him.

That’s the problem. For as long as Dictator tRUMP is in office and their allegiance lies with him, they’re accountable to no one. Perhaps not even to themselves as they sold their souls to the devil by siding with him. No one will be held accountable until Congress wakes the hell up and takes drastic steps before it’s too late.

Read this: https://www.thelongmemo.com/p/people-think-trump-wants-martial

It's a breath of fresh air and logical, sensible thinking produced by William A. Finnegan.

It IS a long memo, and it is TOTALLY worth reading for its ability to speak plainly and informatively but entertainingly about what is possible. It definitely is hard to argue after reading it that a regime this incompetent, or any regime, will succeed with attempting to control our country through the use of military force. That part of the memo greatly reassured me.

I think we have to worry more about election integrity, the corruption of courts and Congress, and the control of the media. Which, I think we can fix if we band together and work to defeat it. It will take real effort and persistence and educating others, but I think we can. And then we better hold these utter bastards and bitches responsible for their treasonous deeds.

A large ship does not sink quickly, but the USA has a lot of holes under the waterline. The reputational damage will not heal until everyone who remembers this time is dead: people overseas now see the problem not as a particular leader but as the untrustworthiness of too large a section of the population, so that even when we have a sane President they will worry that this can reverse in four years; the era from Roosevelt to Biden when we were the leader of the western alliance is dead. The institutional damage probably cannot be healed without a convention rewriting the constitution: the weaknesses are now openly known for any future demagogue to exploit. The intellectual damage is generational: we will no longer be a center of research and learning, and the lack of critical thinking and general education to basic facts will continue to hamper attempts to make policy decisions based on reality; another plague killing a million or more also has to be considered an odds-on favorite now, along with increasing climate disasters handled increasingly poorly. The social damage is deep, with mutual hatreds continuing to make an outbreak of civil war a non-negligible possibility. The economic damage could be anything from a recession we get over, to a depression worse than the 30s, to a general collapse of industrial society and reversion to medieval conditions.

We Californians already know that. I lived there in the summer of 1969 (you know, the Tate/LaBianca murders) and I never even went to downtown. I lived in Venice, spent a lot of time at the Ash Grove, and some time in Pacific Palisades. But downtown? LA is probably bigger than Washington DC. That's why freeways connect different parts... That's why you can't see the hills from Venice, except for that one clear day a month. People from out of state who talk about California, demonstrations, etc. don't know hoo-hah from hah-hoo, including the fact that we support all the red states, and feed them too. TACO is chickening out on farmworkers now that our farmers and their three congresspeople have told him that the people who do the actual farming are immigrants. Californians work, which is more than all those people who left can say.

What else to say? It is wrong to use troops. They know that and move to authoritarianism anyway. It will be soon that the tension on this will break the strap and violence will escalate. I am not hopeful that protest peacefulness can be sustained. The authoritarians are stoking the flames to start the fire. It is just not in our nature to put up with dictators.
