how is it only 2 in 5? it should be 5 in 5, because fucking duh

The entire Republican caucus is sprinting to the nearest mic to beg Donald Trump to please reopen the Strait of Hormuz — the same strait this Truth Social AssFucked Sun Tzu told to "open the F—in' Strait, you crazy bastards, or you'll be living in Hell." A real fucking statesman. Can the Strait be opened anymore than his own prolapsed asshole? Is that even possible?

Gas is over four bucks and the Party of Consequences just found out consequences apply to them too. They cheered the strikes. They killed their own bill to rein it in. Then they begged the jackass they uncaged to unfuck it.

Enter John fuckwad Thune, sweating bullets through a Brooks Brothers suit, shocked — shocked — that the fire he lit is hot.

The guy who lights the match never pays for the burn, we all do. Fuck them.

“The GOP is ass clinchingly terrified of November…” as they should be! Nice one Wendy!

Which is why Trump will do everything he can to fix, takeover or cancel elections.

Cyndi's avatar

Which is why we need to make the turnout massive and pro-democracy.

Too Big To Rig!!

Daniel M Kimmel's avatar

We'll be nervous right through the midterms but here's a good sign: polls show Democrats expressing much more enthusiasm about wanting to vote. We need massive turnout.

arne link's avatar

We cannot let that thought stop us from fighting. If we fight, we win.

devourerofpancakes's avatar

Every candidate needs to be asked, in a close race, are you willing to fight in the courts? Too often our D candidates capitulate too soon, IMO.

Zija Pulp's avatar

I was just yesterday thinking that about Kamala not even bringing this up. What’s with Dems fighting for their rights?

kdsherpa's avatar

Reading those words made me cringe. Those were Kamala Harris's rallying call. We did fight... and we lost.

Patricia Williamson's avatar

Yes, like keeping the "not a war" going with Iran, as an excuse to cancel elections.

Nice spot Seth! Great observation!

Stephen Brady's avatar

And, Dear Leader, Donaldo tRumpinski , remains a giant festering sore on the ass of our body politic. There are more than 1.3 billion acres of Canadian boreal forest... that means each and every one of the 41.5 million Canadians is responsible for raking 31.5 acres. 'Guess it's time for them to get cracking. eh?

Bob's avatar

Donny thinks maintaining forests is just like what they do at Disneyland 3 hours before they open: steam blast the sidewalks to ensure there are no stains, no bubblegum, no dirt whatsoever.

Elizabeth Schulz's avatar

That's EXACTLY it! I'd put money on him NEVER having been in or even close to an actual forest in his entire wastrel life! He's lived inside a hermetically sealed fake bubble: limo to hotel room to penthouse to now his mar-a-lago island to the trashed White House, including stupid-azz 'free' planes and helicopters. What does he know about REAL life? Absolutely nothing: Zip, Zilch, Nada! Never been in a grocery store, drugstore, supermarket, filled his own gas tank, driven his own car ON a road. Spoiled rotten brat - just how he's raised his youngest son.

Lois Levenstone's avatar

Guess we will have to build some roads pretty fast then. The First Nations town that burned to the ground was inaccessible by any roads, and the population had to escape across the lake.

Stephen Brady's avatar

How tragic! I offer my humble apologies for our imbecilic and forever inappropriate squatter in the White House.

Ellyn's avatar

I’m just here imagining millions of Canadians mentally (because they’re wonderfully polite) telling us Americans just what to do with those rakes.

Anyway, have a stellar day, everyone (Canadians included)!!!💕

Sue's avatar

When my great grandmother came for a visit from France and ended up staying for 4 years when WWII broke out, she told my mother something similar but it made more sense. She thought that the US had so many forest fires because people weren't burning wood in the winter as they used to before they changed to heating and cooking with coal, oil, etc. She said that in the forests around the villages and towns, people in France, and probably in the US, would gather kindling and tinder and take down dead tree for their fireplaces. That would clear the fuel around the villages and towns so a fire would be less likely to get to the houses. I bet someone told the orange dipsh*t that concept and his brain converted the idea into people raking the entire forests.

Frank Nuts's avatar

Great post Wendy!

Melinda Morrell's avatar

I am certainly weary of these effers fucking with the oil and stock markets (to their benefit I might add), because it is making my retirement account activity look like a roller coaster ride at Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH. It's maddening. Add on top of that the increases in food, gas and other goods' prices and what should be an enjoyable time in my later years has turned into a survival nightmare. I fear my money will run out before Orange Blob is dead (his term has 914 days left as of today). Vote blue in November, folks, as if your life depended on it, because it unfortunately does.

Tina Zep's avatar

Melinda, that’s an excellent synopsis of life in America today! My wife assures me that we’ll be fine financially. I wish I had her positive outlook. Even if we can weather trump and the Republicans financially i know there will be thousands who won’t fare so well. I say “thousands” knowing very well that it could be “millions”.

devourerofpancakes's avatar

I am reading a book called when the World Stops Shopping. The latest chapter is on people who live a simpler life (i.e. less expensive) and like it. It's not glamorous but its not a life of deprivation either. It's making me rethink how much I actually need to get by.

Melinda Morrell's avatar

We have rethought it, too. We have downsized tremendously. Every purchase is questioned as to need vs want. It's kind of liberating, but we still wonder if there will be something else Trump does that is so stupid it will turn our applecart over for good, lol.

devourerofpancakes's avatar

Yeah. I'm not looking forward to the bread lines.

Cheri Collins's avatar

It may serve the 1%, but a lot of folks have 401k's and other retirement plans that rely on it.

AuntTeeFa's avatar

And all of those 401(k)’s under the influence of Elon’s stock Ponzi scheme. Way more harm than good.

devourerofpancakes's avatar

Too many of us have our retirements bound up in the market. We have to believe that somehow that will turn out all right.

Sharon Hudnall's avatar

Trump is now flat out selling advance drafts of his Truth Social posts so subscribing investors can buy or sell in advance of market impacts. That "may not be illegal" because no president has done that before and no legal precedent has been addressed. How's a legalistic society working out for us?

Frank Nuts's avatar

Good point Sharon! Trump has been doing this immoral shit his whole life. He has somehow managed to dance on this edge of illegal/legal actions and always gets away with it with no consequences— just look at E. Jean Carroll — she did everything legal, by the book, won her case, was awarded a guilty verdict against trump, also won appeals and survived legal challenges and she still can’t be safe from her award money being yanked away by trump judges.

Justice? What justice?

You can’t tell me that the law is equal for all Americans — the rich get special treatment and considerations; while the super rich are immune from prosecution and have free rain to take advantage of whoever they choose without hindrance.

devourerofpancakes's avatar

Not even on the edge. Trump has gotten away with wholly illegal actions his whole life.

T L Mills's avatar

It's not the courts that gift special treatment...it's that those with plenty of money can afford the major investment that getting the very best in legal representation requires. Lawyers can argue, obsfuscate, file injunctions, require discovery and so on and on and on. They can delay until the little guy runs out of time and money. THAT'S how they all get away with the shit that they do.

T L Mills's avatar

I will admit that for a very stupid man, Donny Diaper has a real gift for nosing out grifting opportunities.

Geoff Boyarsky's avatar

Let’s ask a few of the nearly 2,000,000 individuals behind bars in this country right now how a legalistic society is working out for them.

I think you meant they are our chief adversary. But no doubt the faux pas is exactly correct. Trump‘s administration seems to be in constant communication with Putin. Every time something big comes up, it seems that Trump needs to get instructions from HIS chief advisor, Vladimir. If he’s not meeting with him personally after rolling out the red carpet in Alaska, he is sending a flunky to personally get Putin‘s marching orders for Trump, without fear of their communication being intercepted.

Frank Nuts's avatar

Great info Fredo! I think trumpy trump needs more talking points from Putin on how Russia is definitely not trying to control the outcome of our elections. Thank you Jeff. -I have thoughts.

1) It's so nice Tom Homan can take timeout from counting the money in the grocery bags of cash he is handed to provide future testimony for his criminal and civil trials.

2) It's wonderful that ICE can help make sure all of those pardoned by the pedo criminal elect can have gainful employment after their early release from prison.

3) With all the news about fires, floods, tariffs, and war -the Epstein-Trump-Maxwell files have fallen out of the news. Mission Accomplished!

4) Make sure if you are reading this that you've updated your resume to include "Food Inspector" -because of the corrupt incompetent group of sociopaths the criminal elect and his couch loving VP call a Cabinet -the next round of discovering a harmful and/or potentially deadly food contaminant is on each of us.

Sharon Hudnall's avatar

News today included a piece disclosing that Epstein continued to recruit, rape, and indenture girls during his laughable house arrest in 2009. Alex Acosta allowed him to hire his own private guards for which he paid local law enforcement over $128,000 to look the other way. He ran his global pedophile crime network uninterrupted. The Tate bros are no doubt angling for the same sweet deal (it's all up to little Marco Rubio to approve their extradition to Britain).

All the people laughing in the MSM because they were free to write bullshit about Democrats and dismiss their warnings...how's life for you now? Oh I'm sure your C-suite will be just fine.

The number of people who bow to America's Pilonidal Cyst and avoid telling him he's stupid is amazing. It's like they're all part of the bubble; they're all adjuncts to Frau Natalie and her printer. And this is why I talk so much about the deference of the political and legal systems to him, the champion of the unreconstructed.

Every single discussion of wildfires now is just going to be know-nothings insisting that a drought-dried forest can just be raked. It's the same thing as APC insisting there's some giant faucet that brings water from Canada to California (I believe he thinks this because he believes things flow from north to south on a map). And of course it's a great vehicle for sadopopulists to say, "well fires are not managed because DEI or liberals."

What a world we live in. Gilded Age 2.0...I would never recommend it!

Two ways to take that:

1. Everybody better comply. Tom Thumb would favor that option.

2. Consequences. Nuremburg. Our lack of cooperation becomes more.... active.

CAM from 🇨🇦's avatar

Thank you Jeff for talking about Canada’s forest fires. I don’t think trumpet the clown knows that Canada’s land mass is bigger than the US. While Canada is the second-largest country globally, only about 5% to 12% of its landmass is considered habitable or suitable for widespread human settlement. Roughly 90% of all Canadians live within just 100 miles of the U.S. border, where the climate and arable land are most forgiving.

What we don’t need is your ignorant president pooping on our country because he’s still p*ssed that we will not allow him to annex Canada and become your 51st state.

arne link's avatar

Dear Canada and Canadians: Americans are truly ashamed of the asshole-in-chief. We sincerely apologize for his nastiness and idiocy. We hope that things will return to normal one day. Serious people are trying to make this happen.

CAM from 🇨🇦's avatar

Yes, we know that there are lots of Americans who care about Canada. I for one am grateful to all who are injecting humour into this colossal farcical period. It will soon be over. Only 2 more years to go before we will once again be dancing in the streets - we hope.

Daniel M Kimmel's avatar

The next time low IQ Trump says that your PM should respond by offering to make the US the 11th province. Smoke would probably come out of Trump's ears if he did that.

He thinks he can battle climate change through insults and tariffs on foreign goods, which are simply taxes imposed on U.S. consumers. Maybe his private Ass Whisperer told him he can raise money for his losing war with Iran this way.

CAM from 🇨🇦's avatar

The real irony is that during his first term he thought climate change was a hoax.

Outdoorluvr's avatar

He still does, but whenever there's a possibility of extorting someone, a corporation, or a country... his transactional self is all in. He wants to punish Canada for not going along with all of his hare-brained schemes.

CAM from 🇨🇦's avatar

I’m not sure how well-versed Trump is about Canada. We have 15 active free trade agreements (FTAs) that cover 51 different countries globally, excluding the US. It’s not as though we’re orphans the way Trump makes us out to be.

Douglas Paul Truhlar's avatar

It really does show his bottomless stupidity.

Outdoorluvr's avatar

Yeah, he thinks he's a gift to the entire planet, because he's too stoopid to see that no one respects him, his "leadership", or his ridiculous threats. Also too neanderthal to realize that Canada is leaving the U.S. behind for other, better allies. Bad for us, but good for Canada!
