They love to wallow in their righteous anger and unearned resentment. It makes them holy. It also may be the destruction of us all.

It’s not even that. It’s the apathy, the attitude that because they’re privileged (most of them), they don’t have to care. If it doesn’t affect them personally, it’s not a problem. I don’t know how to break through that. I’ve stopped trying, because I’ll just hear “Oh, let’s not talk politics right now.” And I’m in a place where “politics” is all there is to talk about right now.
