Gas prices seem to be the thing that has finally gotten through to them, because it's something that hits them directly. And they get a big glowing reminder every time they go past a gas station.
That so many of them drive inadequacymobiles that cost well over a hundred bucks to fill and only get about eight miles to the gallon, and then live in places where they have to drive long distances to get anywhere just makes it worse.
