slow news day, so you get eleven hundred words about a soccer match. you're welcome, America

Ann Anderson's avatar

Any Monday that the Tate brothers are in custody is okay by me. I'll even read about soccer.

HI2thDoc's avatar

Buh-bye, K and T Tate

Your extradition is great

Shout out to the UK

They just made our day

Good luck with your prison fate

kdsherpa's avatar

But of COURSE you are H12thDoc's fan! LOL!!!

Now why can’t we see the Epstein Files!!??

P123Sunny's avatar

Obv we are needing help from the outside… 😖😫

Marcia's avatar

I’m negative Nelly; I think they’ll be back.

Dianne Topping's avatar

Sadly, I believe it’s up to Rubio to decide the extradition. We all know how that’s gonna go. 🤬🇦🇺

arne link's avatar

IDK, they are reportedly besties with Barron Trump, that sad freak. Donnie may try to keep them out of jail so that Barron can have play dates.

Lady Emsworth's avatar

I usually try to stay off Barron because he's still so young - but someone said yesterday "He looks just like Eddie Munster - especially the hair!" - and I just can't get the picture out of my mind. . .

SLS's avatar

He may be young, but he's old enough to, of his own volition, befriend the Tate brothers and willingly associate with them, so he's absolutely fair game.

Lady Emsworth's avatar

I made some really bad choices when I was under 25 - so I'm a bit more hesitant. Maybe he'll have an epiphany one day.

Ann Anderson's avatar

Sad freak indeed. We're up to our asses in weird, broken people.

Bob Bowden's avatar

And those weird, broken people make it their life’s work to insert themselves up our asses

Elizabeth Schulz's avatar

The sickest (and funniest) part is goebbels/miller actually speechifying about 'antifa' (as if it is an actual organization) people being all messed up, being weird and - I think he used the word 'ugly'? Might've been in a clip of him talking at one of the fox idiots. I was laughing too hard to remember all of that sick fuck's comments. THE singularly ugliest/weirdest and downright creepiest fuck we've EVER had thisclose to our Oval Office having the temerity to imagine he has the right to insult people who are against fascism was just too much.

Mary Hall's avatar

It's always projection with these jerkholes. Always.

Robert Eckert's avatar

The word he used was 'deformed': prize comment was that he doesn't know what he himself looks like, because he does not have a reflection in the mirror.

Elizabeth Schulz's avatar

Ah, haha - PERfection!

DebJS's avatar

I saw a clip of McGobbels prattling on about how icky and plain ugly left-wing terrorist democrats are and I was wishing I could yell at him "Have you not seen any video of Jan. 6th or any Trump rallies?!?!"

Elizabeth Schulz's avatar

THAT's the one I'm talking about, Deb, I think? Only he called us 'antifas' as well ...as if that's a BAD thing!

Alison Stoller's avatar

I so completely agree with your assessment of Nosferatu McGoebbels! He is ONE BIG UGLY FUK!

Elizabeth Schulz's avatar

I ONLY take exception of your depiction of him as 'big'. ;) Isn't he about tom thumb size?

Lady Emsworth's avatar

Is there a medical explanation for why he is so tall? I know both trump and Melania are both average tall - but he seems to have got a bit of a problem. . . .

Carol Jacobson's avatar

How tall is Justin Trudeau?

Elizabeth Schulz's avatar

Except I don't think she's Justin's 'type'. Better to ask how tall is the Secret Service guy she purportedly became so close to for a long while. Frankly, I wouldn't blame her...couldn't IMAGINE that fugly orange slime coming anywhere near me. UGH.

rlritt's avatar

Melania is 5'11", which is really tall for a woman. And Trump was 6'3" probably shrunk. So its really possible that their son (6'9") is naturally really tall.

Look at College basketball player Olivier Rioux (7-foot-9) and NBA players like Victor Wembanyama (7-foot-4). They are really improving on the size of people these days. Better diet? Hormones in milk?

Grace Kennedy's avatar

Trump was 6’3” the way Trump tower has 115 floors.

DebJS's avatar

They probably gave him growth hormones so he could grow up to be really good at sports and get rich that way (since he doesn't have the personality to follow in the shoes dear old dad).

Gayna's avatar

He has friends!? Honestly, since he was a tot I’ve thought there was something very wrong with that kid. Remember Chelsea Clinton being photographed out and about in college, the Bush girls, the Obama girls? Where the hell are any photos of that weirdo? Maybe he is at some sort of Tate event that would not be photographed. Like father, like son. They’re all creeps.

Elizabeth Schulz's avatar

IN his defense (not that I particularly care, but all kids should be protected), they gave him an ENTIRE FLOOR in that awful building just for himself to be his 'playroom'. I believe nurses and 'babysitters' took care of him when mummy wasn't around, but his pater NEVER was there from the various articles written about this excess AND he always wore custom-tailored suits, even as a small boy which the parents claimed HE wanted - just to be like daddy'. Sure, he did.

Teri Gelini's avatar

They are fighting extradition.. not sure on what grounds. Hope they get denied and sent to UK sooner than later

Lisa K. Obrien's avatar

The Tate brothers are Barron’s buddies? Aww, Melania must be so proud.

Elizabeth Schulz's avatar

What the FUCK was he (I don't know one from t'other) wearing during his arrest? It looked like his momma's yoga outfit AND her shoes. And WHY the fuck was an 'agent' (also all glammed up - wtf was HE wearing?) so carefully removing his necklaces for him when the people who are grabbed and even 'detained' briefly EVEN INNOCENT AMERICAN CITIZENS are always unceremoniously thrown to the ground no matter WHAT jewelry or clothing they have on with their heads BANGED into concrete and put in choke-holds to the point of death? - not to mention being kicked over and over, kneed, beaten and tased for simply asking WHY they're being stopped by the orange fuckwit's fake-azz violent and untrained 'agents'?

SLS's avatar

I believe the person removing the bling was a member of the Tate brothers' posse, not one of the arresting agents. That gold blazer was definitely not standard-issue gear...

T L Mills's avatar

I happily agree with you there!

Stephanie Lajeskie's avatar

The part about the booing was glorious, and really lifted my spirits. As you like to say, “Shoot that shit straight into my veins!”

Stuart's avatar

I think the relatively few cheers carried better than the boos. It's probably because of pitch; cheering is high-pitched, booing is low. In any event, I found it difficult to sort out the boos.

Yeah, jeff, I mean, I had to scrape for the juicy bits today.

Here's Donald Trump's newest bright idea: turn us into vermin. Not metaphor — method. Warren Blumenfeld laid it flat in LGBTQ Nation, tracing the line back to Der Ewige Jude, the 1940 Goebbels reel that called Jews rats "found mostly in large packs" — the exact damn phrase this president used for migrant families, queers, and others. He isn't improvising the cruelty. He's xeroxing the fuckin shit and making it policy.

Frosty McGillicuddy's avatar

You're right -- as usual, Wendy.

Lady Emsworth's avatar

And Miller amplifies the thought with his comments on the appearance of "antifa" protesters.

What a dear little nazi he is. The love child of Nosferatu and Goebbels.

Yea but it was classic donnie doing what he does best taking credit for other people’s accomplishments 🙄. Personally I thought it was in really bad taste considering that two more service members died because of his really bad decisions

rlritt's avatar

And he could care less. The poor families of those dead soldiers have to watch Trump yucking it up with the soccer team as if he was the one responsible for their win. No thought about how that looks considering he has cravenly put good soldiers in harms way for no reason except his pride.

Lady Emsworth's avatar

"Bad taste"?

Congratulations - you have won our "Euphemism of the Year!" award. . .

It was an insult to those in service. It was a Bronx rasperry to the dead. It was a display of the most heartless non- Presidential behavior. "Oooo, I can't miss a football match to demonstrate how unhappy I am more troops died!"

Donnie the Moocher. AKA Donnie the Mooch. AKA Donnie the Parasite

moocher/ˈmo͞oCHər/

A moocher is an informal, often derogatory term for a person who habitually relies on the generosity of others. They regularly obtain money, food, or favors without paying, intending to return the favor, or contributing their fair share.

Common Synonyms

Freeloader: Someone who takes advantage of resources or hospitality without contributing.

Sponger: A person who lives off the efforts or resources of others.

Deadbeat: Someone who avoids paying their dues or evades obligations.

For further exploration of related terms and context, you can visit Merriam-Webster's Dictionary or Vocabulary.com.

I like slow news days, I barely remember them!

Maria Devereux's avatar

Well I loved them Jeff, but you missed a couple of the finer points of the dissection. Here we go...

Infantino had to help Trump walk the trophy over to the winning team photo shoot stage because he literally couldn't lift it himself. Either that, or he would have got lost getting there- take your pick.

Also PM Carney and Presidenta Sheinbaum walked quite a suspicious distance back from Trump, whether to avoid the worst of the down draft or a deliberate snub we'll never know.

Most of the Spanish players and some of the Argentines, noticeably Lionel Messi, showed marked

reluctance to touch Trump's hand..for a demonstrative culture, more than a little telling.

Trump tried his signature dominance handshake with Spanish coach Louis de la Fuente, the classy, elegant and talented mentor that Trump could never dream of being, and it got shut down really quickly.

Other than that, thanks for bringing up the World Cup performance. You and your many followers may not get it, but in many parts of the world...fúbol y familia son todos.

Conveniently the FDA announced that the test results were a false positive from the sample of TAYLOR FARMS lettuce. That's what happens when you have a meet up at the White House I guess.

Wendymae's avatar

After seeing the originals in the Guardian, where 2 of the top stories of the day were about king fuckface at the game, I would say photo shopped out.

Peter's avatar

The contrast between the reception given to the King of Spain and Fat Donnie is one for the ages. The king is beloved, the Fat Donnie is hated. And I'm sure that Fox toned down the crowd's booing and jeering when he waddled onto the field (I'm surprised he didn't get driven in a golf cart) to award the trophy.

Oh, and by the way, why does this fat, loathsome paranoid sack of shit need a billion dollar ballroom for security of he is willing to waddle across a football field in from on 80,000 people who hate him?

Nancy Torkewitz's avatar

I was thinking the same thing (about him walking out in front of 80,000 people yet somehow he “needs” a ballroom covered bunker)

michellefromchicago's avatar

And he doesn’t need a fortified bunker while he’s cheating at golf, either. What a puzzlement!

Ellen H's avatar

IMO, the answer is quite simple. He is building a fortified bunker because he doesn’t plan to leave when he loses in 2028.

Joyce's avatar

Allegedly, Fox turned up the volume on the music during the broadcast in order to mask the booing. I didn't watch, so I can't say (unlike the US Open, which I was watching and so know that the network feed fucked with the audio to protect Demento's fee-fees).

Peter's avatar

I was watching, Fox was definitely trying to minimize the negative reaction to his lumbering presence. For brutally honest responses to his malign presence, read the European, especially Spanish press.

rlritt's avatar
20hEdited

Maybe he needs a fortified place to stay when he refuses to step down after the next election. If you dont think he plans to stay, why is he talking about a 3rd term.

Paula Dean's avatar

The bunker is for after he refuses to leave office, and also to hide from retaliation after he nukes Iran. The construction crews better speed up!

Peter's avatar

Have you seen or heard him lately? Satan is knocking on the door seeking to bring him home. 2028 is not going to be an issue. Vance, on the other hand, might move into the bunker and refuse to leave when he is routed in 2028.

devourerofpancakes's avatar

When was the last time you took a basic high school history class? We DON'T teach our young people about Nazis and WWII fascists nearly enough. I'm mean, sure every day is WWII day on the history channel but even that is long on war strategy and short on the rise and fall of fascism politically.

SeekingReason's avatar

There is a giant overdose of WWII movies. Don’t act like there isn’t enough info out there. The only problem with many movies is making it look like the US was the sole winner and heroes. Biggest sacrafice in WWII= Soviet Union. But the info has been out there for decades.

BigDaddy52's avatar

WWII movies are not 'history education', as you point out. Yeah, accurate education is available. How do we spread it? Interspersed with the new white bible studies being foisted on kids? And, to my knowledge, any educational history ain't on tiktok, instagram, etc.

BigDaddy52's avatar

We must try. This regime, and any like it, will whitewash history.

SeekingReason's avatar

NO! We must remember it, study it and turn it into books, college history courses and documentaries about this abysmal piece of U.S. history. "...those who cannot remember history are doomed to repeat it." ( from the 1905 book, 'The Life of Reason' by George Santayana)

Joe Witkowski's avatar
