Well, to be fair, he didn't actually want to be president. According to his agent, his Celebrity Apprentice ratings were faltering and running for president would be a good way to boost his negotiating leverage for the upcoming contract negotiations.

There was a good 10 minutes or so on election night when it became clear he would win, and he was stunned into silence for once in his life because he knew this would bring a lot of hugely problematic scrutiny to his dealings, and he was right. Remember that nobody thought he would win, and no polls predicted his win, which journalists later attributed to the fact that a lot of MAGA voters still had enough awareness to be ashamed to admit supporting Trump. So what did he do? He did what has always worked for him, and he just doubled down.

It's almost unbelievable that the Repiblican party has not yet jettisoned him, when you think how much trouble he still faces legally, on top of 14th amendment concerns, his declining cognitive health. It seems like he will scfrew up the vote one way or another- he has already promised to burn the GOP to the ground if he is not their nominee but they will do it themselves if he is.

His base always gets louder but can only ever get smaller as his troubles multiply. Kicking myself for not investing in schadenfreude earlier.

Well, there's that!

Way back in the day I made a business vist to Stiiwatsr,MN, State prison, for a traning session whereby callers to an 800# were given product info in a lead generation program. This would have been the top prisoners, even some life sentence candidates and those working on college degrees were the main participants. While within the company we jokingly called the program 1-800-CONVICT, they did a great job. What I came away with was the 24/7 fight against boredom and a sense of finding meaning in that atmosphere- unbelievable really. I got to go home obviously but the impact of leaving from a place where uou could spend 20 years or life, never left me.

And if I weren't tired of Drumpf for any other reason by now, I'd already be tired of how every little problem he has is the "worst/biggest one EVAR!" Week after week, month after month, always escalating - because those GoFundMes always have to be the new biggest thing to get Ma and Pa MAGA to send their social security funds to him while they eat Chef Boyardee for another month straight - cold, because they don't pay their electric.

I am very interested in seeing how the IRS will handle Trump now that he has been found guilty of massive financial and documentation fraud.

Al Capone was ultimately stopped by being convicted and jailed for tax evasion.

I will not be surprised when Trump is charged with and found guilty of both tax evasion and tax reporting fraud.

I foresee a very real, genuine, valid, and vigorous IRS AUDIT in Donald Trump and his co-conspiring sons futures.

I am awed by Jeff’s use of adjectives to describe the Orange Prison Apprentice. It is such a dazzling array my thesaurus is now in twice-a-week therapy sessions!

As the sun begins to set on the Trump crime family, Putin will probably start trying to determine which Republican to fund for 2024. And as the donor checks stop paying Trump’s crack legal team, one wonders what will happen to the pending criminal cases. Obviously they aren’t just going away with a donation to a Pam Bondi campaign.

The thought of Trump rotting away in prison while Melania returns to ‘modeling’, while compelling will be troubling if Trump is not joined by his co-conspirators and accessories after the fact at a maximum security prison complex.

Sadly, I am not convinced at all that Trump in the end will be held accountable. He still has a real shot at the presidency which means an end to our democracy. We can celebrate, take a long breath or think he is going down. He is not. Presently our democracy is going down. Each day we have to do something about this. Be a Nelson Mandela. Be a Clare Bothe Luce. Be a Marie Curie. Be a Dorothy Thompson.
