As a recovering addict myself (8 years, 6 months clean) I respect the fuck out of what Hunter is doing. A big part of recovery is owning up to your faults, and for some of us that means making jokes about ourselves. His ability to be self-deprecating while defending his family and smacking down the MAGA assholes is inspiring. I, personally, need voices like his to keep me from relapsing to drown out all of the ugliness I hear everyday.
Thank you, but the battle isn't over. There are days when I would kill for a bump, nights when I wake up in a cold sweat from a dream of using. Recovery is never over, the work goes on forever. I accept that I out myself in this position, and no one is to blame for it but me; but I do appreciate the support wherever I find it, and do my best to support others in this situation.

As a recovering addict myself (8 years, 6 months clean) I respect the fuck out of what Hunter is doing. A big part of recovery is owning up to your faults, and for some of us that means making jokes about ourselves. His ability to be self-deprecating while defending his family and smacking down the MAGA assholes is inspiring. I, personally, need voices like his to keep me from relapsing to drown out all of the ugliness I hear everyday.

I accept that I out myself in this position, and no one is to blame for it but me; but I do appreciate the support wherever I find it, and do my best to support others in this situation.
