Republicans sure love to talk about killing people. what the fuck is wrong with these monsters
something inside of them is broken beyond repair
the other day, torture-enthusiast Ron DeSantis sat down with hate-radio host Erick Erickson to discuss one of his favorite subjects.
“so, we’re going to authorize the use of deadly force against the cartels. if you have somebody coming in with the fentanyl in the backpack — they even break through the border wall, where there is wall — if they’re doing that, that’s the last thing they’re going to be able to do, because we’re going to leave them stone cold dead at the border. we’re not putting up with that any more.”
let’s leave aside the fact that fentanyl is smuggled across the border by U.S citizens, not asylum seekers, and consider the more chilling angle: Ron Desantis fucking loves to talk about killing people.
he does it over and over and over again.
and when he’s not salivating over literally killing people, he’s waxing poetic about metaphorically “slitting the throats” of the “deep state.”
but also consider this: Ron DeSantis is a terrible public speaker. he has a doofy singsong voice. he loses his train of thought. he stumbles over his words. but when he talk about killing, a change comes over him. suddenly, he’s super laser-focused.
you know who else was like that? George W. Bush.
George W. Bush was perhaps the worst public speaker of our lifetimes. he couldn’t string three words together without fucking up two of them.
we had to invent a term, Bushisms, just to describe it.
Bush would say the most inane stuff. he would get common sayings wrong. he would absolutely mangle the English language — except for when he’d talk about killing people. then, he’d become chillingly articulate.
Bush would get up in front of the cameras and his eyes would narrow and he’d talk about how we’re going to hunt the terrorists down and we’re going to kill the terrorists and not once would he ever stumble over his words.
he fucking loved to talk about killing people.
Donald Trump fucking loves to talk about killing people. it’s one of his favorite subjects.
way back in 1989, Trump couldn’t wait to kill five innocent black teenagers who’d been railroaded into confessing to a crime they didn’t commit.
Donald Trump never stops talking about how much he wants to execute people.
he wants to bring back firing squads, group executions and public hangings.
he’s even fantasized about using guillotines, for fuck’s sake.
in Trump world, people are always dying like dogs.
“He died after running into a dead-end tunnel, whimpering, screaming and crying all the way,” Trump said. Later, he said it again. “He died like a dog, he died like a coward, he was whimpering, screaming and crying.”
ugh. is that how a dog dies? I don’t even want to know.
who thinks like this?
and for some Republicans, it’s not enough just to talk about killing.
down in Texas, Governor Greg Abbott has famously booby-trapped the Rio Grand with submerged razor-wire obstacles.
and if razor wire alone isn’t barbaric enough for you, the booby traps have circular saw blades hidden inside them.
the objective is not to deter migrants from crossing into the United States. the objective is to kill migrants.
and it’s working.
Officials in Mexico reported this week that two bodies had been found in the Rio Grande. Although one of the corpses was discovered stuck in the buoys recently installed by Abbott, Texas officials claimed that the person had drowned upstream before floating into the barrier.
these are not healthy human beings. these are sick sadists. something inside of them is broken beyond repair, and none of us should ever have to live in their twisted world.
I wake each morning and turn on the news hoping to hear that Trump had a massive heart attack or stroke overnight and died. Is thinking that a crime? No, but it is aspirational.
I think Yoda had the right wing industrial fear-rage complex summed up pretty well when he said, “Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”
The entire Republican Party can’t get enough hate. They manufacture it in bulk on every right-wing media source. It makes them a lot of money, too.
