by the way, this is the first comment until my post from July 21, 2024:

“EVERYBODY CHILL. I'll be here with what I hope are soothing words of what I hope is wisdom in tomorrow morning's post. don't panic.”

because here's what else happened one year ago today: five minutes after I published my post, Joe Biden dropped out of the presidential race, and naturally that's all anyone wanted to talk about.

UGH. what a year it's been.

Expand full comment
Elizabeth Schulz's avatar

NOT correcting - simply adding to knowledge for anyone not aware of this horrible contraption. I believe you're describing being 'put in stocks' probably originated from 'stockade' but stocks was the more common usage. They were an old and oh-so-'lovely' early form of display-torture thought up just because. The 'criminal' (or entirely innocent woman accused of being a witch) was chained behind a wooden bit of fence(?) with 3 holes cut for head and both hands to protrude. Monty Python reduced this awfulness to a joke but this particular form of punishment was not at all funny for those who suffered. They were 'displayed' for children to throw trash (or stones) at and left for hours in the baking sun (or other awful conditions). I always wondered how many people developed permanent neck injuries from this IF they survived at all. I believe their 'crimes' ranged from "talking back to an 'important' man" to actual thievery. The stocks likely fell out of favour when lynchings captured the public's avid attention. :'(

PS: IOW, the perfect punishment for frump. He can blither and blather his lying bullshit for hours while kept in one spot for children to throw eggs, burgers, batteries, sharks or whatever strikes their fancy at his big pumpkin head!

Expand full comment
Dana Jae Labrecque's avatar

Thank you for the historical addition. It was horrible, abhorrent punishment, yes. For F45&47, we can all throw compost at the protruding, lying face bound in the gold-painted wooden fence, locking his head and hands in place. (Burgers, sharks, and batteries are funny!)

Many even tell us their doors will always be open for us. Perhaps THAT will be a next step: a great exodus of democracy-loving Americans TO Canada, relinquishing amurrikkkanism as long as magats/swamp critters remain 'in charge'. We could consider it an extended vacation or temporary-to-permanent residence, as long as they'll have us? We'll bring our savings and whatever we can contribute to the Canadian economy. An alternative could be akin to 'The Democratic American Government in Exile' - with our lawmakers, us, everyone who feels the same - all travelling north to wherever they'll have us and setting up this which has been done before. Watch as the lunatics currently running the asylum fall over their feet while having NO CLUE how to run a Country. WHEN they fail spectacularly, those interested could return to put the US back on track? Ok, it felt good coming up with this idea - at least it could be a plot for a fantasy book if nothing else.

He fought against the Tribes who created Mohegan Sun in Connecticut (right across the water from Long Island) - and a huge draw to Long Islanders and who wanted to open a Casino out here on Long Island. This is what it looks like when the walls close in and the ghost of Epstein starts flicking the light switch. Donny's out here rage-posting about football team names while the headlines scream “you and your pedo bestie.”

He’s not just melting down. He’s evaporating in real time.

And yeah—those Epstein files have teeth.

I just fear that the FBI files will be totally obliterated. I hope someone has copies.

On William Spivey’s post this morning he explained how the Felon had a scalp reduction to remedy his receding hairline. Ha! What a creepy thing only a supremely vain man losing his ability to attract female children that Epstein procured into his Mar a Lairgo would do. I hope they burn that gaudy child entrapment palace to the ground after he croaks.

Yep, bc he suffered from the excruciating pain it caused, and he couldn’t blame the surgeon or people would know what he did. So he punished Ivana for his vain actions. I didn’t know this sordid story before.

In the movie The Apprentice he had the scalp reduction and lipsosuction of belly fat at the same time. Not likely, but served the portrayal of his vanity pretty well.

Regarding the Epstein files, Trump and his worship team of sycophants were either lying back then, are lying now or lying then and now. I love it when conspiracy theories come back to bite you in the ass. It’s like their karma ran over their dogma.
