I mean I'm down for allowing Judge Cannon to live her fantasies and go ahead and fuck Donald so long as she also throws him in the slammer.

Between her and what's-his-dick that let Vile Shittenhouse get away with murder, pretty sure the entire judicial system needs some strict guidelines about bias.

Jeff, thanks for highlighting the Just Security prosecution of Dear Leader.. What I find remarkable in the over 300 page indictment is the fact that it is all based upon public sources... Can you imagine what the non public sources and testimonies that SC Jack has unearthed? Private and public sources seem to reinforce the idea of a multi pronged strategy to keep power, to keep the WH, the possibility of using the armed forces, using the military to confiscate voting machines, throwing the election into the House among other findings. As a resident of AZ I am particularly interested in the phony electors, as described in this report state by state. We need accountability, we need punishment to deter further coups or insurrections... And we need Justice.

Indeed. And we need it for the hamburger helper reps in Congress that were in on it.

I don't know what has taken so long but maybe the 120 or so GOPs that were ready to throw down on 1/6 with the obvious planned coup need some DOJ attention, too? Maybe that day is coming. Perhaps the concern from DOJ was the fact there were so many... the fact they were looking for pardons says it all.

And now this narcissistic sociopath is running for re-election. Well, I guess better late than never and perhaps the 600 or so from the bottom up convictions plus the Congressional investigation will make it more "palatable" to those assclown lovers.

When the man shows what he is, Putin-loving thug and "who me, a criminal, Trump?" yeah, YOU! Put the freaking cuffs on him already!

Sorry, just sharing the general frustration I think so many of us feel. Still, I do get the feeling Jeff was having a moment of zen thinking of the ghostwriting fun he could have.

Little Donny Fuckface dreams of assaulting teenage girls. I hope he dies taking a dump on one of those glam toilets in his shitty golf motels. Barring that, let Melania shoot the fucker. Barring that, have a waiter dose his Diet Coke with acid, the brown tabs they warned people about at Woodstock. Barring that, I reckon four convictions would be a nice start. It won’t fix everything, but it’s a start.

In the Tortoise and the Hare, who wins the race? Here it is!

https://read.gov/aesop/025.html

Currently I am dealing with German Bureaucracy each day, and there the Ts have to be crossed and the Is dotted or else. Still, I prefer that to societies that just run with money under the table. I am glad that the USA is still following the rules, even if the Supreme Court is bending them over backwards, they are still the rules. As moral says, "The race is not always to the swift."

The Hare’s were given one hell of a head start. But I do understand the complexities of getting it all right before pulling the trigger. I’m just whining out of pure frustration. Patience has never been one of my virtues, most admittedly.

I agree! ALL these rats are clogging up the House....they are ALL complicit in what happened on January 6th, and they're in CHARGE!!! Who's investigating THEM?!?! As long as they're free, justice is not complete! You're right...so little time!🤬

I can't help thinking there was a reason one of The Hague's top prosecutors was enlisted for this role, and why Jack Smith would have left such a prestigious position, 6 months after accepting a renewed 4 year contract, living a happy life with his wife and daughter, to accept a role that has him reviled by ⅓ of the country and possibly puts his and his family's lives in danger.

Smith has been investigating Trump's transactions and chasing money trails in foreign countries, alongside all of the other investigations. Might international crimes be on the list of indictments to come?

I’m encouraged that Georgia, and now Arizona, and (fingers crossed) Wisconsin and Michigan are now investigating their fake electors. These state investigations dovetail nicely with Jack Smith’s investigation of the multifaceted attempted coup.

The more states in which Trump can be convicted the better. A pardon would be out of the question by either himself or any of his sycophants who might win a future presidential election. Of course, any of those states could have a Republican governor at some point who would be happy to issue a pardon.

As the 1/6 committee began, I was worried about the "incitement" concept because it requires the incitement be actually intended to result in "imminent lawless conduct." At some point in the testimony--I can't remember whose--I thought "Aha! Gotcha." It is still a really hard thing to prove, given First Amendment concerns. See Hess v Indiana, 414 U.S. 105 (1973), where a Vietnam protestor urging folks to "take the fucking streets later" was protected by the First Amendment.

So trump's first call to come to DC wouldn't qualify. Some of the stuff he said about Pence during the riot or at the speech on the mall might be.

I need to point out that Cheetoh Jesus has been the subject of several investigations but charging and convicting are two different things. I’d love to celebrate his ultimate demise but I’m skeptical; he’s wriggled out of charges before and too much can happen to derail the process. Plus, he could be sentenced to house arrest (*for the sake of the country*) and unless and until he’s wearing a prison jumpsuit - size XXX large - I can’t celebrate. For nearly the entirety of his administration we’ve heard, “grab ‘em by the pussy,”THAT will be the end of him; the Mueller Report will finish him; the January 6th investigation will bring him down, the threats to Ukraine, the Raffensberger call, yada yada yada. I fervently hope that he’s nailed for at least some of the charges but until the prison door clangs shut, I’m not dancing in the street.

Segue: The first Republican debate is in five weeks. All the pundits have speculated that Trump might not attend. The truth is, he shouldn’t. He’s way ahead of everyone else and has nothing to gain. Everyone knows who he is, there’s nothing they can learn in a debate that they don’t already know. Besides, Trump is going to dominate the debate whether he’s on stage or not. If he’s not there, his challengers will quote him, talk about him and criticize him. And how lame everyone will sound when they’re addressing someone who isn’t there.

Trump would be better off doing what he does best: Watching TV and stuffing his orange face with cheeseburgers.

There is no way Cannon will have Trump convicted or at the least spend a hour in prison. Bank on this. And Jack Smith will not be able to appeal this.

DC and NJ is where things will be done.

Yay!! It is going to happen. I feel it. Trump is going to have to sit and listen to Jack Smith lay out the facts to a jury. I wonder how many stupid faces and eye rolls he'll make. I'm not a lawyer, but I don't see him having any defense. I really wish they'd allow cameras so we can watch it live. Eh, as long as he's convicted, I'll settle for reading about it.
